Marvel video games

Most people have seen all of the marvel cartoon television shows. X-Men, Spider-man, Batman, and of course, The Incredible Hulk. Now that we have computer technology, game manufacturers can make any character come to life. Children enjoy playing the role of a superhero in a modern video game. When a kid sees the latest video game in a store, they immediately want it. The qualities in a video game include graphics, cheat codes, and....... well just those two factors. Every popular movie comes out with a boss video game!!! The Hulk is an incredible character. Like most common characters, he has to deal with a problem. A huge, bulky, green problem. Let the kids let their imagination run wild. The Hulk is a great game to let kids express themselves.... in a violent, fun way. I encourage kids to have fun with the new Hulk video game. Now, if you will excuse me, I have to play the Hulk game.

A fun, action packed game. And that was just the demo.

This game is loads of fun. I downloaded and played the demo and enjoyed the limited amount of play I got from this game. If the full version is ANY better than the demo, then this game is worth buying...

This game is awsome. That is, if you like The Hulk. This game is cool you can smash almost anything you want in in almost any level. The game also has great sound quality and good graphics. Of course you might need a good computer like mine - p4 2.66 ghz geforce 4 sony vaio...

This game requires a 3D Accelerator Card. But it's pro

This game requires a 3D Accelerator Card. If you want to play this on your computer you'll want to buy one. Judging by the PC version Screen Shots it will probably require a 32mb or a 64 mb 3D Accelerator Card with full Transform and Lightening. It'll be the first Hulk game made for PC. I plan to buy it. I think that you'll be able to play as the Gray Hulk in this game also.

A very fun and entertaining action fighter!

Great beat'em up fun! The hulk is mainly a good ol'action game with a hint of stealth elements when playing the bruce banner levels. And as a action/fighter the hulk suceeds and is very well done. The Hulk is given plenty of awesome and cool attacks to mow down the countless enemy soldiers and mutants featured within this game. The bruce banner stealth levels are a bit time consuming as it takes practice to get things just right when sneaking past enemys, but never gets too difficult.

The graphics are pretty nice with the character movements and animations of the hulk. The Cel-shaded cartoony cutscenes are cool to watch as well.

And last but not least; The Enemy A.I in the game is excellent. Most noteably with the small soldiers-Mainly the rocket-launchers who always stratically place themselves in the right areas, work together and shower the Hulk with rockets from a distance. They are quite smart and troublesome indeed.

However i do have my gripes with this game:

1)-they could have given hulk a more varity of power slam moves to use on larger enemys, rather than the 3.What about the powerbombs,rapid-fire punching, flips and various other throws that the Hulk-sized enemys do? Hulk should be able to perform those as well!

2)-Why not have cheat codes allowing you to play as the hulk-sized villians such as Madman? I'm quite suprised this was not included.

Hopefully they shall include such improvements in a seqal.Other than that the game was great and was also very easy to install and get working on my system as well and played perfectly with my gamepad.

Great Game

I thought this game was a great change from the ever boring "First Person Shooter" type games in which all you do is run around watching the end of whatever gun your carrying. OOOooo.... you picked up a bigger gun and some ammo.. same game... different gun.

I actually enjoyed the change in camera angles. It keeps the game from being a left right up down type deal which I find very boring. Gives you different angles on the action... especially when your bashing somthings head in.

The game is original, new, and interesting... not just grab a gun and shoot stuff....P>J

Hulk-a-mania!!!!

No, this game is not a dog. For the average console gamer who does not understand how to re-configure keyboard controlls for the pc version until it gets comfortable for you as an individual, this game is awkward. For everyone else, with a brain, this game is very VERY good. Of course, standard fare. Fight, jump, smash, flip a switch, hide, smash again... But , the cut scene cell shading is very mood setting. The fighting action is smooth and clean. Dozens of random and creative moves keep it relatively fresh. The voice acting is being done by the movie actor himself! Very high quality voice over acting. The bosses are a tad too easy, though. I just went up against boss #2 and i have not had to start over because they overwhelmed me. Actually, it was a little too easy to get them on the first try. The stealth missions are moderatley difficult, without being impossible for a newbie. After putting in about 8 hours, i can say that i am not bored. I am actually curious what will happen next. Well...back to the game...WAIT..I ALMOST FORGOT... Why does this game need so many cds'? I have played far more complex games that fit onto one cd......

great game, you need a control pad though

This is a great game for when you want to put your brain in neutral and start tearing up stuff(I love it!) but despite what some reveiwers are saying, you do need a controller of some kind. The keys are clunky and just don't work. mouse support would've helped that some. The guy that said the manual should've been one page and said HULK SMASH! is right on, that pretty much says it all. The controls can be figured out quickly. button 1 grab, button 2 special, button 3 smash, and so on. Holding any button brings on that radiation through HULK's green veins giving him more smashing power. Helicopters are annoying and the most annoying thing of all is you can't throw cars or anything else at them(even though you can throw cars and anything else period.) The sceen is very 2-D because you can only throw things up to a certain point and helicopters are usually just above that point. Bruce Banner can also fight(though not five or six trained soldiers at once) but usually gets his crev canned. The plot is linear becasue as Banner you absolutely can NOT turn into the HULK. If you do, you loose. Also as the Hulk you are given green arrows and told where to go, that is a no brainer and you should've been given more freedom to move around the city/other environments. A game "TELLING" you what to do is not really a game. I would've liked to hear the "thousand voices" when Bruce changed like in the Bill Bixby series, that was the coolest part of the show. It wasn't written in the comic though, but it would've been cool. Despite the lack of feedom(thus only four stars) this is fun and a tension tamer because you can just sit there and bash and smash hearing the bass rumble(with the right subwoofer) and be totally ruthless. What more could you want?

Whoa!

Alright now its been a while since I played something I enjoyed as much as this. Im not into PC games and all I can actually play is the Age Of Empires/Mythology series. Anyway, this game tops all my expectations. Its never been so much fun to blow up everything around you. Its amazing the amount of actual detail that has gone into making this game a visual blast. Its really fun at any time. I'm 20 and I seldom get time off my college life to play PC games but this one is just one of the best gifts I bought myself lately. I recommend it to anyone who likes KILL EM ALL freak game play.

Notice the helicopters and the detailed maps next time your playing. For those of you confused I suggest you download a demo of the game. Cheers and good Luck!

Pleasantly surprised...

When I heard that the PC version of The Hulk was twenty dollars cheaper that any of the versions available for the consoles (Xbox, Gamecube and PS2) I decided it was worth the risk even though I rarely buy computer games. As a result, I was pleasantly surprised. Based on some of the previews I read about the game, I knew that there were some concerns based on the use of cell-shading. Personally, I thought it looked great. I think the game producers were trying to find a nice balance from the look of the comics to that of the movie when they decided to go with cell-shading. I think they succeeded. The colors just seem to jump out at you. The controls are simple and easy to manage. As the Hulk, you can jump from one building to another, punch your enemies, grab them in a chokehold, or use your gamma powers. Based on what I've played so far, the gamma powers seem to come in two forms: the gamma slap which focuses a wave of energy at an enemy in front of you or the gamma crush which incapacitates all enemies around you in a seismic wave. As you destroy enemies, they will leave green orbs which you can absorb to increase your strength. The more havoc you create, the more higher your rage meter will increase. When it's filled, the Hulk will become almost indestructible, yet for only a short period of time. As Bruce Banner the jump button is substituted with a stealth move that allows you to tippy toe past armed guards or spotlights. There are also punch and grab buttons but they aren't nearly as effective as when you are the Hulk. The game is broken down into two levels-Bruce Banner and the Hulk. The Banner levels offer a nice variation to the Hulk levels but tend to get repetitious quickly. They basically involve sneaking past armed guards or spotlights to reach a destination. Why you can't transform into the Hulk during these levels seems like a blown opportunity. Instead you either start a level as Banner or the Hulk. Now the Hulk levels is where the fun begins. Everything in the surrounding environment is destructible. You can crack walls, collapse building posts, crush doors, and throw objects. During one level, I repeatedly threw soldiers at a door till it broke open. One can only imagine the amount of flexibility the game allows to create mayhem. The game also offers a variety of unlockables and cheats. Other than the film trailer and a quick behind the scenes making of the game promo that are initially available, you can try to unlock a documentary based on the special effects of the film, game modes, photographs from the movie, and various cheats such as playing as the Grey Hulk. I also read somewhere that the film will offer clues to unlock more easter eggs within the game. Other than the repetitious Banner levels, I was also disappointed with the install time of the game. I have a P4 2.4 gig system and it took nearly twenty minutes to install the entire game. The game comes with three disks and are housed in a double binded jewel case not unlike Enter the Matrix which was packaged in a flimsy cardboard sheath. Other than a few complaints, The Hulk more than takes advantage of it's movie license with it's variety of unlockables. I would highly recommend this game to any hardcore fan or casual PC gamer.
