A great adventure

Sure there are many great first person simulations out there right now. But by any measure this is one of the best. I can get really caught up in this game. I have jumped out of my seat (in fear) and really enjoyed knocking off anybody (or anything) that does not wish me good health. If you liked Doom, Quake, etc. Than buy this game right now!

It's the coolest game I've ever played

It is the best game ever. The weapons are so realistic and multiplayer is non stop action 24 hours a day over the internet - fast connection required. I've never played single mode, why kill aliens when there are plenty of people out there waiting to be splattered!

Defineyly on my top 5 ever

Half life is among the 5 games I ever played for sure. The single player gives you countless day of fanatic game play, and the Multiplayer... A BLAST. You can download lots of mods which will allways have people playing at. I didn't see a single bug in this marvelous game. I am playing it in a daily basis for a year already. VBeware, You MUST have a video accelerator card.

Buying this game is well worth it

I am a big fan of Strategy games, and when I played my first 1st person shooter game, I turned away from it, never thinking that they were good. Yet, I was proved wrong. My friends purchased this game and told me it was well worth the money. So, I decided to buy it. I was stunned. The pictures I saw in magazines about HALF-LIFE were actual shots. The graphics were the best, the gameplay is awesome, and the interaction is very nice. The storyline is well plotted, and you gotta think ahead. You can't just run in a room, and blow everything to pieces. No, you gotta think. I say that this game is well worth it. I am now addicted to the game, and Team Fortress Classic (TFC)which is included. TFC is the best multiplayer game ever created, combining skill, and teamwork. For those of you out there deciding whether to buy this game or not, let me assure you, to buy it.

The Best Action Going

If you liked Quake (I, II or III), this game will blow you away. It has strategy and a *real* evolving story-line... and it's funny too but none of that gets in the way of non-stop action, great AI and good effects. After the game, you can log onto Team Fortress DM play and that is the best.

Why Don't You Own This Game Yet?

I bought this game about a year and a half ago, and I must say I still play it a lot. The single player is a lot of fun(especially the first half), and if you're ever bored, get online and start killing stuff. Multiplayer mods like Team Fortress Classic and Counterstrike will keep you occupied for hours, and keep the replay value high(even on my 56k modem). Believe the hype, this is one of the best games ever concieved.

Half-Life is a Full Winner

There is no mistake that Half-Life is the best game ever. Great graphics, superb action, and challenging worlds make this a 6 out of 5 stars game. Both Black Mesa (the lab) and Xen (the alien world) are crafted well. It just proves that Sierra Studios has become a big winner. Heck, even the Houston Chronacle (sorry for not spelling it right), my newspaper. loved this game. It is also very addicting. Is must warn people about two things: this is not for the faint of heart or for dumb people becuase this game requires smarts. Otherwise, blow yourself away with this game!

The best game ever

Half life isn't a game, it's a way of life. The most involving and enjoyable game ever produced for the PC it pulls you into the world of Gordon Freeman and his escape from the Black Mesa Research Facility.

Essential a First Person Shooter with style, Half Life has incredible graphics and attention to detail, the helicopters being a fine example.

Be warned, this game is HUGE, it goes on for ages and never gets boring. The slight downside is that there's a section at the end on Xen, the alien planet which changes tack too much and can be frustrating to complete.

Simply put this game is the business, from the introduction sequence, the alien AI, the graphics and the smooth gameplay there is nothing better. Buy it.

Best Adventure Game of All Time

That is simply how to put it. This game had me jump, stiffle screams, yelp, and yes, even get adrenaline rushes. Your paranoid, only three rounds left in the chamber as you scale the ladder above the toxic waste pit. As you reach the zenith, you find a corcodile like alien, that isn't excited to see you. Your three shots do plenty of damage, yet it's still alive and kicking, so you resort to your crowbar...

All of this and more in stunning 3D graphics, a must for any serious gamer.

Greteast Shooter Ever

I own half life and is is great! There are some games out there like doom and quake where it is violence for the sake of violence, Half Life still has violence but it has a great storyline. You start out as Gordon Freeman at a normal day at work at the Black Mesa Research complex, and then during an experiment all hell goes loose and thousands of aleins teleport to the facility. You then become the complex's last hope to save everybody. You can get scientist to follow you and deactivate security systems or security guards to follow you to help you kill aleins. Later in the game you find out that soldiers have come to help save scientists. Really they came to kill all the aleins and all people who works at Black Mesa. Well saving people you get teleported to the alein planet to kill the main alein and save Earth. The game is great with plenty of stuff to shoot, a cool arsenal of powerful weapons, and a great stroy line. You have to get it, don't let the rating stop you from getting it. I liked it so much I plan to buy the sequel very soon. Full honors to the Half Life team at Valve!
