LCD 23" wide screen & Windows XP

Hoyle has always been my favorite games but ever since I bought the new state of the art Dell computer with windows XP, and a 23" LCD screen, Hoyle couln't take it. Only Hoyle games can't handle it as it creates lines accross the top of the screen, Bicycle games handle it perfectly. Please upgrade your program.

Have they added passing to pinochle yet?

I have Hoyle Card Games 5, and enjoy it, but the Pinochle implementation does not include passing cards. That's the only reason I see to upgrade, so it would be a waste of money if it doesn't add that...

Poker Programming

I really like the Hoyle card games, especially Spades, Hearts, and Gin Rummy. However, the Poker game is not at all realistic. Whoever wrote the paramaters evidentally knows absolutely nothing about poker probalities.
I do not play it often, but played two games tonight. In one game there were SIX times that a player got four of a kind! Twice it was four aces! The probabalities of that is somewhere two million to one.
I would surely like to see you issue an upgrade to this game to make it more realistic.
Sincerely,

Thomas Wall

CD must be in drive after full installation to play!

Even after full installation of this game, the CD must be inserted in the drive to play it. I hope this new form of "corporate greed" backfires in a big way. Stay away, don't buy any Sierra Product!

Needing the CD is bad for a specific reason:

I have heard a million reasons why inserting the CD is annoying or it could get lost etc - all of which are great reasons against requiring the CD in the drive. I always go back to consoles and think the PC has every right to require the same as the consoles. There is, however, a MAJOR thing that Hoyle/Sierra forgot and they are frankly dumb as dirt to forget this:

Who plays this game? I'd wager a very significant percentage of the purchasers are people like me that wanted the game for our LAPTOPS! I just bought a new tablet PC and would love to sit and play some simple games on the plane that don't require action or awesome CPU power and I can play while I fly or wait at the airport. I have truly abused the poor poker players on Hoyle Casino 2003 for this reason, yet never loaded it on my desktop (which plays Doom 3 quite well thank you) ;)

So, now Sierra lost me as a customer simply because I *cannot* play this game. I have no CD drive in my laptop. My other laptop I've been using has a CD drive but I take it out and replace it with a battery. Putting the drive in means I can't play the game cause it would suck my remaining battery dry. plus, other than for the game, I haven't travelled with a CD drive in years.

What a group of dummies running the marketing department at Sierra.

It knows what you have in your hand!

This game is OK for the basics, but don't expect anywhere near a real experience here. I can't tell you how many times I get beat on the last card, with just one higher card, say a 9 high to my 8 high. Always with only one card higher! That's not real. Plus, too many of the players are idiots, while a few are otherworldly lucky. It's nothing close to a random draw, and that's what you need for a real experience.

Great Game

I don't know what everyone is complaining about! First of all everyone complains about having to have the disk to play. How hard is it to it the open/close button on your computer. If any future post can tell me 5 games that have come out in the past year that doesn't have to have a cd in the drive to play, I will take it back. Secondly, everyone complains about the terrible odds. I have only seen 1 4-of-a-kind in the 10 tournaments I have played(2 of which I won.) I have turned the original 5k into a million dollars! I got this game in the 75% off bargain bin at Office Depot which made it $5. It would have even been worth the $20. This is my first Hoyle casino game so previous versions could have been better and I not know about it, but I think the game is fantastic!!!!!!

THE ONLY DRAWBACK IS YOU CANNOT SAVE A GAME AND RETURN TO IT LATER. WHEN YOU BEGIN AGAIN THE OPPOSING PLAYERS MONEY TOTALS ARE RENEWED. I HAVE TRIED CONTACTING THE COMPANY AND HAVE POSTED THIS ON THEIR BULLETIN BOARD.

They don't even know the rules of chess

First, their draw by three fold repetion is off.
second, their expert level probably isn`t even rated 1000
This is the worst excuse for a game I have ever seen.

Table Games is fun

This set of games is addictive, especially if you are competitive and you enjoy playing pool. The games are cool to play and the talk back feature is great, I think. You can throw a pie in one of the characters faces. lol. The maximum pool has several versions of pool, like cutthroat or snooker, which I haven't seen in many games. Plus, if you think your good at chess, this will make you really think before you move.
