Glad I found it cheap

I found this game about 2 nights ago at EBGames for $9.99... deffinatly glad that I did not get this before when it was $30... It is a fun game and deffinatly challanging, but like others have said once that case is over... Thats it... There is only one game to do... and a hint if you do get this game in the beginning when it asks you what your strong qualities are its best to put the two that you are the worst at... Cause whatever you chose are the two that you gets hints for... Cause when I first played this I had it on questioning and finding evidence.... On evidence you get a magnifying glass that appears over top of stuff you need... Questioning filters out useless questions... While that was good and all... I am one that once I get stuck I kinda get frustrated so, what I wanted was a few in game hints to lead me in the right direction... so, when I clicked on the chalkboard I found out I could only get them by checking teamwork... So, like I said check the two you will have more problems with as those are the ones you get the hints for...

Great plot! Some flaws, as noted previously!

The plot is quite interesting. It is very unlikely that you would find this story on tv so it was certainly more fun for gameplay. The flaws I encountered were in the courtroom. I could not complete the Q&A on about 3-4 important witnesses. The CD just spun and spun -- all I could do was indicate "done with witness". Also, I did not like the "expertise" part of the game, at the beginning, that relates to how the game operates -- the outcome of the answers to those questions is unknown at that point.

Please, stop making L&O games.

I hesitated to buy "Double or Nothing" becuase I had purchased the first L&O and was very disappointed. Luckily, I got this one at a discount price. I am tired of games that do the work for me. I get to hunt for clues with my mouse but when I find them, I do not get investigate them or make any suppositions about them. That's all done by my helpful partner. Why does he get to have all the fun? Why not give me the opportunity to decide if this is possibly a useful item? There are no real puzzles, all of the questions are spoon-fed to you (even when you do not select that "skill" in the beginning and the game is too short and too predictible. The only good thing about it is that there was no time limit as in the first game. These two games together are so bad that I will never buy another L&O game, ever. I've said the same about the CSI games. I guess you can't blame the makers for wanting to cash-in on the popularity of these shows, but you do no justice whatsoever to the cast, writers and the image of the show. Please, in the name of all that is good, stop making these games.

i got this game for christmas, and boy was i happy. i had heard only the best about it. i put it in and played and played and played for 9 hours straight. i finally won and got my conviction and i was so happy, i couldn't wait to get to my next mission. then i didn't know how to, and then i went to all these sites and they talked about one mission, then i read one on amazon confirming my thoughts. there is only one mission. now i dont know about all of you, but when i get a game i like it when you can do more than one thing. the mission was fun, and it took time and patience to complete, but when your done you sit there for a second and go wait...I, (or a relative) just spent thirty dollars on a game where you can only do one thing. you can do this thing as much as you want, but still it is just that one thing with minor differences. i felt like suicide. i'm warning you, if you are going to buy this, buy it used or borrow it from a friend, because it may be fun and the show is fabulous, but when you finish you wont be happy at where your money went

Mind Numbingly Dull

If you enjoy the TV series, then you'll like this game, as if follows all the stylings of the show. For non fans, however, the game comes off as a dull point-and-click mystery that really offers no incentive to keep playing it after a few hours.

While there are tons of different scenes to gather evidence at, it's always the same experience, you click on objects to pick 'em up and put 'em in your dossier. Then you send them off for processing at the lab or other relevant department.

The storyline has plenty of twists to keep fans playing the game, but most gamers will just get tired of the little surprises and jump from scene to scene, hurridly collecting clues.

The environments are doen in a quicktime VR type of format, which means you can't really walk around them at all. You just spin in place, point to an object, click and pick it up. Or you point to a car, for example, and click to enter it. If you're not pointing and clicking to gather evidence, you're dragging and dropping it into a research folder.

Graphically, it's not all that hot, as characters are blocky and movement is marionette-like, even in the cinematic sequences.

The two high points are the storyline and the voice work. The story was done by a staff writer, and the voices were actually provided by the show's cast.

In the end, I could see this being worth $10, maybe $20, but certainly not $29.99. Wait for it to hit the bargain bin if you're really interested in it.

So Fun It's Agenst The Law!

This game is a thriller if you are a Law and Order fan you'll love it. There are many plot twists and climaxes in the game. And the best part is, you never know what's gonna happen.

I don't know if the cd was defective or not but I've never had a game that crashed as much as this one. The story line wasn't that good either. Maybe because I was so frustrated with trying to keep it up and running that I couldn't consentrate on the story. I'm giving it a 2 star because I liked the other Law & Order games. Ho Hum, maybe next time.

realy enjoyed

Great 2nd Game for The L&O PC Series!!

First off, let us get the bad done with. In the courtroom, yes, there are a few flaws.. but nothing that would make me take a star off of my rating.
p.s. I have yet to review Law & order- Justice is served because i havent finished it yet.

The storyline is very good and in my opinion a little more complex than the first one, it has great fun gameplay, and suspicious characters. More complex extra stories too, that are crucial to the game but have nothing to do with the murderer and finish of the game, it is a great game just like the first one AND like the third one Justice is Served, like i said before you dont even have to like the TV show, (since I dont) the games are fun!! So Buy Them All!!!
