The latest installment in Mega Man Battle Network series has arrived!
Like the first two, the game is filled with plenty of fun, Virus Busting, battles.
The gameplay is fairly simple and easy to understand making it easy for beginners to jump right in, but the game also holds a great depth of complexity for Battle Network veterans.

Three new style types, Shadow, Ground, and Bug, join the first four types added in the second game, allowing for an even greater level of personalization. Shadow and Ground, however, will never been seen together, except in a Game-Link Battle - for Shadow is unique to one version of Battle Network, while Ground is found in the other.

Also added is the 'Navi Customizer', a special device that can upgrade Megaman's capabilities even beyond a basic Style. Triping over holes in the ground? Use an Airshoes upgrade, and no ground is no problem. Enemy shields stopping your attacks? Equip a breaker upgrade and watch your buster shots rip right through. Piece together your upgrades in the right places, however, or your upgrades will backfire, attracting viruses, shooting flowers, or even crippling your ability to use chips!

Wow! I'm impressed!

At first, I was a bit skeptic of the BN series. I like all the other megaman series, but I saw megaman BN and didn't know what to think. At first it seemed to different, but while talking to other Megaman community members, they convinced me into trying it. I bought this one because it was the cheapest I could find. I was extremely impressed with the cool action sequences and good storyline. The play is really addictive. I never care for graphics, but if you really are a visomaniac, I suppose you might not like them.
In all:
play: 5 stars
replayability: 5 stars
frustration: next to none (4 stars)
graphics: (NA)
Price: 4 stars
= 4 1/2
enjoy!

My favorite game --HiDdeN one if DOOM--

The mega man battle network games are very different from most megaman games when all you do is walk around and shoot people. In the battle network games it combines action, adventure, and a kind of RPG style that is very addictive. When you play this game, you either go places in the real world with Lan, or go around the net with Megaman.exe.In this game you collect programs and battle chips to power up Megaman.exe.The more programs and chips you collect, the more powerful your megaman will be.Also after you reach a certain part in the game, the game keeps track of the way you battle, and after a while your mega man will "evolve" to suit your needs in battle.
Some times you will have to use information from the real world to help megaman in the cyber world. To fully complete this game, you will have to hook up your gameboy to someone who has mega man battle network 3 blue. This game has a few parts that might be inapropriate for children, but it is mostly a kid friendly game. Altogether, this game will keep you busy for a long time, but it won't be really hard either. The mega man battle network series are my favorite games, and I hope you will enjoy them too.

Overall a very enjoyable game

I've never played any of the other games in the Battle Network series but as a occasional Mega Man fan, and with the recent price drop i decided to try it, and so far i haven't been dissapointed.

Overall the battle system is very enjoyable. I've never been a big fan of the whole card based combat (I.E. Pokemon) but i have the say that with the often intense real time combat the card based combat makes for a great blend of real time strategy.

I've always enjoyed tactical RPGs such as Final Fantasy Tactics but occasionally games like that can get a little boring. So for me Mega Man Battle Network brings a great change of pace to a genre i've always loved.

If strategy games aren't really your thing then you probably want to look elsewhere.(The recently released MegaMan anniversary collection would be a better recomendation) If you want to be successful your going to have to spend some time restructuring your card folder and doing some other sometimes tedious tasks.

The storyline also will turn off some gamers. The main characters are all elementery school children - and most of the plot lines, while usually interesting, involes stuff such as class fieldtrips ect.

If you feel you can overlook the sometimes tedious gameplay and often childish plotline then by all means pick up a copy, it's definately an enjoyable game and i'm sure it won't be the last one i pick up in the series.

This game is so good. the only problem is that when you get closer to the end it is really hard. You might want to get a gba action replay with this game.

Good battling brought down by go-find-this-for-me gameplay.

As far as the game's action portions go, it's incredibly addictive, if you're lucky enough to encounter different viruses alot and like to alter your folder. Admittedly, encountering the same virus over and over is quite boring, especially if you have a boring-to-use, weak folder. Overall, however, the action is absolutely wonderful. The worst part of the game is the incredibly repetitive gameplay. 1/2 the game is taken up by going to get some specific chip from some specific virus. (No, not a boss battle...a plain-old every-day virus!) Yes, down to the very chip letter! I found the battles for the N1 to be fun, since you pretty much got to fight 4 bosses in a row. If the gameplay wasn't so dang repetitive, this game would be perfect.
