The recipe for Pokemon Emerald is 2 parts Crystal, 3 parts Firered/Leafgreen and the storyline of Ruby/Sapphire with a little tweaks and a new are the Battle Frontier and you get the best Pokemon game yet. The two parts from Crystal are the pokemon animations and the "cell" phone, the three parts from Firered/Leafgreen are the pictures of the items, tells you how many you have when you buy items and the text and the storyline was been tweak by you fight Team Aqua and Team Magma.

My Favorite Pokemon Game So Far

I have played FireRed, Ruby, and Sapphire, and have watched friends over their shoulders play the others, and I was blown away with Emerald the moment I turned it on. Even the introduction (with the bike and the Pokemon around it) was eye-catching and made me want to play for hours on end.

Overall, this game has had the best animations of all of the Pokemon games. They were colorful and creative, and they kept me interested.

Yes, it was extremely difficult compared the FireRed, especially when trying to beat the Elite Four. I recorded at seven tries at their battles, and was beginning to feel frustrated. I went out, explored Hoenn, and came back with a new determination and a little something extra. (Hint, hint)

My absolute favorite part was the addition to the Safari Zone. The new Pokemon hidden in the grass, the water, and the rocks, were ones that I had mostly never seen before.

I did lose interest after beating the Elite Four and exploring the Battle Frontier. The fact that you do not gain EXP from the battles in any of the buildings made me kinda mad. (You also do not record the opponent's Pokemon in your PokeDex, which is the whole point at the end.) It's worth it, nonetheless, because you experience the Battle Frontier and find several new Pokemon that you can catch and record.

I still have not found Latios/Latias yet, and am looking for Kyogre and Groudon. (Hint: Weather been stormy? Check out the STATION.)

Once again, I was excited and enthralled with a Pokemon game, and I cannot wait until the next enstallment. I heard it is Pokemon Diamond for the Nintendo DS...is that true?

Anyway, it is definetly NOT a money-waster. Be prepared to be wowed by yet another GREAT Pokemon game!

You may not think that there is much feutures in pokemon emerald untill you have beaten the elite 4. There is a new area called the battle frontier... You can get both groudon and kyogre in the game and there is lots of new places and new things to do. I have pokemon sapphire and I do not think this game was a waste of money.

I just started playing, and am not that far into the game yet. But I have played almost all the other pokemon games, I mean I am 13, what kid hasn't. I am finding that it is simlar to a few of the other games, but with the new twist that was added, it makes the game interesting. If you are purching this game someone, you might want to ask how they liked the other games, would they like them mixed into one, or are they looking for a new plot all together.

Awesome!, even with the knowledge of Ruby and Sapphire!

Combined games and more

Pokemon Emerald is like a combination of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, with a bit of a new story, with moving pokemon and a new island, the battle fronteer! What could be better than that? Because these games are combined, there are more oppertunities to catch pokemon that weren't in the other versions, and make it more interesting to see pokemon in battles or the wild. The battle fronteer makes it worthwile to play the game after it is beaten. I think this was a great idea for nintendo to do.

Pokemon Emerald takes you back to Heonn, were Ruby and Sapphire took place. Now in Emerald you can catch Rayquaza,Deoxys,Jirachi,Latias, and Latios. But after you finish the game you don't do anything the title screen apppears.Well, this to add a twist, theres something called the battle frontier. This game took me 6 hours to beat!Normally the other games take me 4 hours.Try picking Mudkip,he's really helpful. If you pick a claw fossil you recieve a Anorith and if you recieve a Root Fossil the pokemon you get is Lileep. Please buy this game!
