This game rocks! You can play as Trunks, Gohan, Goku, Vegeta or Picolo. There is a better battle system than the first, more attacks and you learn a move that turns you into a super-saiyan! There's this new system for flying( don't worry, it still has the old one.) where you go to a map screen a press where you want to go. This game follows the Trunks, Android and Cell sagas and is longer than the first game. Hope that this review helps!

This game is SO awesome! It's so much better than the first LOG game in every way! This time, you can play as (and this is the order you unlock them in) Gohan, Piccolo, Vegeta, Trunks and Goku, and in the beginning, you play through a VERY shortened version of the History of Trunks that teaches you how to fight and stuff. You play through the Trunks Saga up to Cell Games, and there are SO many side quests, such as training with Master Roshi to achieve a character's Special Melee Attack, getting the Scouter and Enhanced Scouter (you get the Enhanced Scouter near the end of the game), heck, even finding an old man's Fish Bait gets you 1 out of the 25 Golden Capsules you need to find for Dr. Briefs! I highly recommend this game to anyone.

P.S.-Theres a bonus feature in the game! If you beat the Cell Games with Gohan, Piccolo, Vegeta, and Trunks at level 50 with their trophies (you don't have to worry about Gokus trophy because you automatically get his after the Cell Games), you can play as Hercule! Get him to level 50 and go to ZZTV Studios in West City to see the Alternate Ending to the game!

His name was Goku.

Oh my god! This game rocks! It soars over The first Dragon Ball Z legacy of Goku. Even though that game was amazing too. This game is so addicting. It is fun enough to run around and punch air. Hahah. But once you get all five characters Goku / Vegeta/ Gohan / Trunks / Piccolo, that is when the game really shines.

The fun thing is the Super(Saiyan) for all the characters. They all go supersaiyan. For piccolo it is Super namek. It has the same effect. To bad the energy doesnt recharge fast. You cant fly either unless you step on these things.

The graphics on this get a 5/5. Stunning for GBA. The Kameamea, special beam cannon. Big Bang Attack. Spirit bomb. Super saiyan. All of that stuff look just like you want them to.

The gameplay gets an 5/5. The story mode is amazing. The quests are fun. You always feel good when you level up your character in this one. The character gates(gates that you have to be a certain character and a certain level toget through) really inspire you to try hard to get to the certain level. The moves your characters can perform are amazing too. You have your special melee attack. Example: Spin Kick for piccolo.
And keep pressing the melee button and your character will give the badguy a left, thena right. Then maybe a couple kicks. And possibly a kameamea or special beam cannon that goes on for 30 seconds. Much better then the short kameamea or the always right punch from the first Legacy of Goku. Goku would only punch with one arm all the time. Now this time you can give them the left, the right. The kick in the can. The super multi punch.

The story gets a 5/5 Die Freiza die! Ahahah level one gohan! Die Freiza. Oh it was just a dream. Oh no now freiza is coming.

It is an amazing story line even though it only goes up to the cell games. It gives you much more time to appreciate your Super(saiyan) abilities unlike the battle with freiza in The first legacy of goku. Even though you do alot of stuff that never happened in the show.(example :Oh no! Shut down Vinnie's annoying music ...or Defeat the Triceratops King) All the quests addict you. And if you get stuck. You get even more compelled to beat it.

Control 5/5 Well, just hold down a button. Or to change to a different beam press a button. Press another button to fire your beam. Move around with pad. Use 1 button for punching and your super melee move. use one button for your energy blast and all your other special energy attacks. Even use that button for going Super. Easy control. Gotta love those type of games.

Sound 5/5 should be 10/5 Instead of the Dinky Pinky beeping music from games like mario on the first nintendo like the first Legacy of goku had. You get nearly the full blast of the trunks saga music. You get that real sounding Evil Cell music and everything. It is AMAZING! Somtimes instead of buying the music cds you should just get a gameboy sp and hook up to surround sound through the headphone plug and let it lay for 18 hours while your character stays in a safe spot and you get the beautiful stunning DBZ Music. Even though there really isnt any voice in this game. You dont need it. You got everything you need in the chat box or the music :).

Over all 110/100 :)

Even if youve only seen one episode of DBZ and that 1 episode might be when Goku meets bulma. This game is for you.
In fact, if you dont know much about DBZ. This game will make it all understandable. It is a must BUY!

(And normally i dont write such long reviews, if i write somthing this long. Im married to the product and i cherish it and hug it an you get the picture)

I have this game and it is challenging and fun at the same time. The graphics are not much of an improvement, but the fun factor is. You get to play as Vegeta, Piccolo, Goku, Trunks, or Gohan. You have to start out as Gohan and then release the others. You can use way more attacks than the first. With Piccolo, you can use the Special Beam Cannon! This game is so good, even people who don't like Dragon Ball Z should buy it.

best game ever?

first off I would like to say that I have never played the game yet but have played the first many times over granted that the first had some flaws but that only means that the second can only get better because people learn from there mistakes and make thngs better as they get along now me personaly think that this will be a great game for all ages i am always makeing sure I know what Im getting so here is what I will tell you what I know so far in this game you start right after the freza saga is over and the trunks saga begins you start as gohan and as you progres you are able to play as ether gohan trunks goku picollo or vegita I also understand that there is an improved system for flying Im not guite sure how much improved the battles are because in the previous game they were not that chalenging and but still fun I recomend this game mostly for dbz fans because it is just easier to get the inside jokes abnd it makes the game that much more fun but is still playable for anyone but just more enjoyable if you know whats going on i hope my review helps well good gameing!

While Dragon Ball Z Legacy of Goku was a fine example of a simple Action RPG, it did have it's flaws. Those flaws were that you had no idea how badly you were damaging your foes, the damage ratio to you was out of whack, it was incredibly linear, and all the bosses were pathetically easy (Solar Flare, Energy Attack/Kamehameha) and you only played as Goku (thus a huge chunk of story was removed). I am glad to say that most of the problems this time around were fixed.

The story behind legacy of Goku 2 is that Trunks arrives from the future to warn the heroes that a pair of Androids will arrive in three years and basically destroy the world. He gives Goku some medicine so that he does not die prematurly and then takes off so they can prepare. Three years later a set of androids appear but they are not the ones trunks had fought, those appear later along with a third. Soon the androids are face a threat called cell along with the heroes and eventually cell creates a tournament.

Like I said most of the problems with the first were corrected. Now with the use of a scouter you can examine the strengths of everything in the game, from cell down to a little butterfly. When you attack or are being hit a red nuber appears that basically sasy how much life was removed. So damage ratio was greatly even out. You play much of the game as Gohan, Piccolo, and Vegeta with Trunks and Goku playable at the end. The linear factor was removed as with a world map you can go wherever you want.

However some problems remain. While the bosses are smarter this time around, ultimatly they do revert back to a basic pattern. Get to close they punch, stand to far they shoot energy. How you decide to fight is up to you. Also the flight meter which provied a quick escape in Legacy 1 was removed. So no longer if you are getting your ass kicked and need a quick escape can you.

Overall Legacy of Goku 2 is a solid game that is a lot of fun. it has it's share of problems but what game doesn't. Overall this is a solid title to own on the GBA.

this is going to be one of the best american dbz games ever

Okay the reviewer BLADE only gave this game one star. Well he is either bad at judging things, to stupid to appreciate good games or and idiot that isnt worth living to waste resources. I reccomend that you should stay away from this BLADE guy. I mean you play from the trunks saga to the cell games! And there are 5 plyable charectars. BLADE also says it was to hard because of unfaur battles. Good games are supposed to be challenging in some points otherwise you would defeat every game when you first get them. BLADE must enjoy cracking his head on a rock because this will be the second best american dbz game yet right after budokai(hey BLADE did you give that a bad review to?)

Awesome!! Way better than first one!!

If you've played the first, you know that 2 is going to be awesome!! Because, the first is okay(if you use *the invincibility code!!). Back to 2! First of all, its longer, its easier, better graphics, more characters, new moves, 2x more levels ,and more, I think! If 1 was a must have, 2 is waiting for you!! My favorite character: Trunks. My favorite energy move: Spirit Bomb. My favorite melee move: Flurry Punch. My favorite status picture: Trunks' first Saiyan mode picture.

*Still want to know the invincibility code(for 1st game only!!!)? It is:up,down, left, right,a,b, on the intro movie. It'll make life easier especially when fighting Frieza!!

New Game, New Sagas!!!

I played the first Legacy of Goku game, and it was great. I know this game will be better than the first, since at the beginning, you'll play with Gohan, then as the game goes on, you'll have the option of choosing to with either Vegeta, Goku, Piccolo, Trunks, or continue with Gohan. There is also a new improved flying system and there's also a new technique that can make you become a super saiyan. I'm tellin ya, this game will be ten times betta than the first. I suggest you get it the day it come out.

A fun game

This game is entertaining. If you've played the first game then that makes it even better. The graphics may not be perfect, but it's impressive how there are five different characters for you to play with. Each one has it's own tasks. This game is not hard, but not too easy either.
