What Zeus was for Greece, Poseidon is for Atlantis

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 47 / 49

Poseidon is the expansion for the game Zeus, city-building in ancient Greece. New gods, monsters and heros, plus an "Atlantean" slant on the game, keep it fresh and interesting. Also, there are new adventures for Greek cities. The basic premise hasn't changed: one builds the city/colony to achieve the victory conditions in the episode. The Episodes tie together and link to each other in the adventure. The Atlantean twists are replacing the "Cultural" enchancements of the Greek city-states with "Science"-as Atlanteans prized knowledge and learning according to myth. Additional aesthethic improvements are available (as well as to the Greek adventures). Some minor bugs in the game system have been fixed; also now one may halt construction of any major building. Additionally the details about construction are much more useful than before. Speaking of bugs, I can't really think of any in Poseidon-a tribute to the team that built the program. If you enjoyed Zeus, you will really like the additional features in the enchancement.

It's awesome-and don't pay attention to "a gamer"

"A gamer" claimed that Posiedon is not that great. Well, he or she is dead wrong. It is way better than Cleopatra(the expansion of Pharoah). With 2 new gods, 4 new monsters, and another 2 heroes added to the list, this is so cool. Also, there are new industries and many new beutification structures, including the pyramid. And there are dozens of new adventures, and new types of cities. This altogether is one heck of a good game. This is a must buy for any gamer. Expansion pack for the best ancient city-building game out there

Not much changes in this expansion from the original, but it adds a vast amount of new content, buildings, and a totally new race to play as---the Atlanteans. Despite their similarities to the Greeks, they are vastly different. A new array of Gods are available for both sides, and new heroes.

The new campaigns are just as fun as the original, and some even expand into a fantastic realm in which Atlantis expands into strange lands and encountering indigenous peoples called "Mayas", and introducing their own culture and architecture (such as Steppe Pyramids, etc) to these primitives.

Great expansion pack. Must buy.

I've played Caesar, pharaoh, cleopatra, zeus & poseidon. I expected more. I played Caesar & pharaoh for months at a time. Poseidon is just not as challenging as the former games. I do like the "episode" concept better than having to complete an entire level (like caesar or pharaoh), but the episodes are too easy. The cartooney look and feel is also somewhat patronizing.

This game is excellent!

I loved this game. After installing it, I've spent about two years playing it, but stopped after I discovered Age of Empires. It incorporates humor, religion, and myhtology in an excellent blend of culture. I highly recommend it to anyone over the age of 12.

its alright

this game is too much like pharaoh buts its just not as good. Pharaoh had me playing for hours, building cities over and over again making them better and cooler each time, this game tries to deliver that, but doesn't quite reach the mark.

I love this game...I've had if for several years and still find myself playing it. The best part is being able to create your own senarios, making each as easy or hard as you want. Build your ideal home city, build the surrounding cities, choose what each city trades, set the events and quests! It is a bit time consuming to build the scenarios, but it is worth it.
