I have a copy of Bloody Roar at home and I believe it to be one of the best fighters arond. The way the blood splatters after biting the opponent with Yugo the wolf, or the way you can just feel the opponent's bones shatter after being pummeled by a series of punishing kicks by Alice is just amazing. The music is great at getting you pumped to destroy your opponent and the sound effects make you feel like your really there! You gotta get this game, because between the great graphics and the killer sound, I'm surprised that this game didn't win an award or something, and if it did, it deserved it, and I gauarantee you'll love this game! Also, you should check out the next Bloody Roar, because even though this one's awsome, the next one's even better.

One of the Best Fighters

I'm a bit sore about not having played this in the arcades when it came out as Beastorizer. This is simply one of the top 3 fighting games of all time...up there with Super Turbo and VF2. This fighting system is as realistic as it goes and has so much depth. Although you can mash buttons and pull off a couple of combos, if you know what you're doing, the fights can get really intense. The characters are pretty balanced and there's the power-up meter where you can use your special beast attacks. With all the speed in the game you can beat your opponent in seconds or make the rounds last for minutes with all the counters, blocking and sidestepping.

your typical fighting game,

well I've had this game for close to three years. a friend left it at my house and shortly after he moved I found it under some stuff. So, I decided to try it out. Since then i've played it about 5 or 6 times, and to tell you the truth, it's not that bad of a game. the original idea of transforming your characters into ferocious beasts is a step ahead of the other fighting simulators out there (tekken, battle arena toshinden, tobal) and is original in it's own right. However, I do think that some of the gameplay is slow and blocky, although the characters are well designed. The difficulty is a bit harder than your usual fighting game, but that leaves the player desiring more gameplay rather than beating it the first time with nothing else to strive for. The art section is interesting, and the characters are displayed wonderfully. One thing I'd like to point out though--I really thought Fox was cute...until I found out it was a GUY. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a pervert who obsesses over video game girls, but I thought fox looked alot cuter than alice...but when I found out that it was a guy...haha I just about smacked myself. So anyways, to sum it all up, this game is a good kick for 2 player or playing it once in awhile, but as far as total replay value goes, it's not all THAT great. I recently sold mine ot somebody because I never played it, and it just sat around. I figured with the extra money I could use it to invest in some shiny new guitar effects pedals or something of the like. so, having spent 5 minutes of my time, I hope I helped somebody in making their decision whether to buy this game or not. -Jared

The only fighting game I love!

"At the end of the 20th century a growing sense of crisis prevails and the world is consumed in chaos. Amidst all of this confusion, people with strange abilities have suddenly appeared on the scene. Their physical strength and athletic abilities far exceed anything previously found in humanity or for that matter the animal world. For man and beast has melded into one and become something far superior. In the heat of battle, these hybrids are able to take the best of both species and turn it into something quite deadly. Welcome to the world of BLOODY ROAR, it's a fight to the death!"

I don't normally like fighting games; I prefer either puzzles like Busta a Move or mental challenges like Myst.

However the Bloody Roar game and its sequels are the exception to my rule!

Bloody Roar is great fun because the human characters can transform into certain animals with all their strengths and weaknesses!

The graphics are great, the choice of fight locations fairly extensive and the training package is also great fun, I loved learning all the moves which were fairly complex but not too difficult to master. I also appreciated the fact that you could turn the gore/blood factor off, I've never been one for that sort of thing!

Surprisingly intelligent for a fight game, I am really glad that there are sequels, I have Bloody Roar II but if I want the Bloody Roar III and IV I will have to invest in a Playstation2, bummer or what?

Bloody Roar Series VS Tekken Series!!!

Any differences?, you betcha. The controls are so different from Tekken, but yet the feel of the fighters with both series are very consistent and rich in Character, having their own unique abilities and traits. "KING" from the Tekken series would make a nice special appearance onto the Bloody Roar game as a secret character to unlock. Bloody Roar is awesome with an animalistic wit! Compared to the Tekken reaction time when using your buttons to spin off combos, I'd say there is a 4 second delay with Bloody Roar making the game very challenging, since its more on accuracy and timeing, whereas in Tekken you have agility, speed, and timing with the combos towards your opponent. If your a grea fan of Street Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, Guilty Gear, and Samuria Shodown, then yes you will also love this game. The graphics are perfect and smooth, and each time you play it gets interesting, plus with other things to do in the game like in Tekken. A great keeper, and be sure to collect all the Bloody Roar games on the PS-1. PS-2, and PS-3, there is no doubt that one day they will come out with game called DEAD OR ALIVE VS BLOODY ROAR!, that would be sweet. Or TEKKEN w/ Animal "RAVE" VS. DEAD OR ALIVE, yeah baby that would be Da Bomb!

Thanks for reading.
