This video game is terrible and should have never been made.

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 9 / 11

When I first saw the demo for this game, I saw what I thought to be a game that was going offer something new and different: fmv sequences that made my mouth drop, voice-overs that seemed more interesting than any reading in some old rpg, and great action sequences. Boy, was I mistaken. The fmv sequences were far and few between, and each not being no more than a few seconds long, except the opening scene, mind you. The voice overs turned out to be overdone and melodramatic, being in some annoying british accents that at times could be hard to understand. The gameplay was....well, there isn't any gameplay. The game gave no clues as to how to advance in playing it. I, after two months of playing, got no farther than if I had just turned the game on. The game had absolutely no direction, no clues or even mentions on what I supposed to do next. Your first mission is to find Merlin. Good luck doing that. The game also has all these items I picked up that serve no purpose whatsoever. Of all the items you get, I would guess only about 10 of them you actually need to complete the game. The others are there for no other reason I can discern. But, oh well. I hope no one else buys this game. It is terrible and should have never been made.

I agree with the Nov. 1999 review

I agree 100% on the Nov. 1999 review, except I'm sure they intended to rate this game 1, not 4. The first thing your told to do is find merlin, which I couldn't do. I read a walkthru on the internet that said you have to find wilf first before finding merlin, which I couldn't do either. I've played 100's of games, and usually I beat them all. In this case I hadn't accomplished anything more after many hours than I had after the first 10 minutes of the game. This game is so stupid I can't believe it. The hints are useless. There are no suggestions on what to do once you get stuck (which happens 5 minutes after you start). If you consider yourself intelligent, you'll have to downgrade your opinion of yourself if you buy this game.

Something to kill time.......

THis game is better suited for the computer than the playstation, its a basic point and click puzzle game, For example examine a fireplace, then take a candle off the wall and light the fireplace, its got the camelot story line to a vague degree but its like riven without the amazing graphics. Its ok and with these low prices you could do worse (vagrant story).
