An underrated gem

One of the reasons that the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis were such great ofgaming systems is the fact that they had so many excellent tournament fighters, major ones of which being the Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat series. But circa 1995, Sunsoft pulled off a rather interesting idea - they put a number of DC Comics characters together in a fighting game! How did this little experiment work out? Read on for my review of Justice League Task Force.

PROS:
-Let's face the facts, we were long overdue for a fighting game featuring DC Comics characters.
-You can play as a number of your favorite DC Comics characters in this game. Among them are Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Green Arrow.
-Every character has his or her own special attacks, which are unique to that character.

CONS:
-The basic gameplay is really just the Street Fighter II style that many games have copied. This means the game is really nothing unique.
-Too many heroes, not enough villains. A greatly noticable villain omission is Batman's arch-nemesis, The Joker.
-Another character problem is that there aren't enough sidekicks.

OVERALL:
Despite a few problems, this is a very good game. It's about time that DC Comics characters got their own fighting game! Too bad this is the only one to date, though...

Good, but could have been better

This is a rather decent fighting game starring DC's premier superhero team. The roster of characters is a bit limited (What! No Green Lantern?) However all the mainstays of the JL are here-Yes,even Aquaman. But the computer A.I. is pretty cheap. It's fursturating to be trying to land one hit, and geting pummeled by the Flash quicker than, well...The Flash. Also, the special moves are rather tough to pull off, and when you do a special you usually have no ideal how you did it. If the game were more balanced, and had more characters to choose from, it would be more interesting. As it stands, it's good, but could have been so much more.

WOW! A GREAT GAME!

I wasted countless amounts of cash renting this game almost every week from my local video store. This game is awesome The story mode it to die for and the characters, well they are pretty unforgetable!! I currently bought this game for snes because the genesis version rocked and i had trouble finding it. Well compared to the Genisis, the snes version sucked. ALOT. Aquaman for one has his hook hand and a complete moves overhall, the flashes moves are much cooler & the game moves at a much faster pace which just goes to show you that Genesis has the upper hand. the story mode is also more involved on genisis and the backgrounds have a higher level of detail. While i really wished more villans were included this game has a good selection of great fighters.

GREAT GAME

I used to have this game years ago. It was my favorite out of all the genesis games I ever had. I had mastered every character and their moves. It is fun to try out every character and master them. I spent hours playing this, fighting all different matches. If you like switching things up and like to spend hours on one game, then this is deffinetly the game for you. You will love it, at least I did.
