TOKI

The storyline: an evil sorcerer kidnapped the princess and transformed her boyfriend (Toki) in a monkey. Now as Toki, you have to travel through all sorts of places in order to rescue the princess.
Toki is capable of shooting energy balls out of his mouth to kill the enemies and you can power up these shots by killing some birds that ocassionaly fly over and pick the itens they drop. There are many types of shots, from a flame thrower to a devastating chargeable shot.
The zones vary from many types of caves to florests, and there's even an under water zone. There are a good variaty of creatures throughout these zones but none of them offer great danger, neither the end-of-level bosses. They all have a great design but lack the challenge, including the final boss.
The graphics are nice for a Genesis platform game and the music and sound effects are excellent, really capturing the mood of the game.
The only thing I must complain is the slow pace of the game. Toki walks incredibly slow, which is quite unlike for a monkey, and at some point in the game you almost beg him to run. This can be less frustrating in the icy zone because he can glide on the ice and this may cause him to get a real boost of speed sometimes.

Great game anyway.

Other than what has already been mentioned you can play this game alone or with a friend.I spent many hours of fun, with my other half, laughing and playing Toki.It is not often these days that you can say a game is FUN to play. This is one of them.Another enjoyable game!
