metal slug X is a very fun, entertaining game.there is no real plot but its fun anyways, you go around shooting, bombing and killing the bad guys; very simple. at the end of each map there is a boss like figure that takes you a like longer to kill and when you do that level of the game.the only problem with this game is that it is too easy and you have an unlimited amount of lives. the creators should made it like:
(1) a limited amount of lives and should of left the game play like it is.
(2) unlimited amount of lives and made the levels harder and also add levels (because the game could be beaten within the first hour or 2 of playing.)
nevertheless the game is very fun; a good buy and has great replay-ablity.

BEST...GAME....EVER

I bought this game because i had played it in arcades. Ive beaten it 3 times in two weeks. Even though its not hard, it has enough multiplayer action to keep you coming back for more. THe extra missions you unlock when you beat the normal game are VERY hard though, so be prepared. This game will entertain you a lot.

A great Metal Slug!

This is one of the best arcade shooters of all time! The only thing diffrent in this game vs Metal Slug Anthology is the training option with Sgt. Meg

A fun rehash, but little more

Metal Slug X is, at first look, an amazing side-scroller where one or two players take control of soldiers who move through six missions, shooting and blasting basically everything in sight. The game is amazingly fun for an hour, but after the game is beaten (with infinite continues, I might add,) scrutiny comes into play.

The grpahics are amazingly detailed, and every sprite in the game shows a variety of emotions that add a wonderful comedic style to the game. Soldiers laugh and gasp in disbelief, tanks explode and reveal mechanical innards, and the player's character is always willing to laugh at his or her handy-work. Of course, the graphics are nearly identical to Metal Slug's, with no improvement. Also, when enemies are shot, a white liquid sprays out of their body in place of blood, a paltry attempt at censorship.

Gameplay remains the same. The hero fires weapons picked up along the way, throws grenades, crawls, runs, jumps, and pilots four different types of "Metal Slugs" (a tank, a camel, a jet, and a humanoid tank); all in attempts to beat an evil terrorist leader. Nothing new, but still fun.

The problem comes in if you've played Metal Slug 1. This game is not anywhere near as fun. The first had truly unique challenges, more difficult bosses, and more interesting levels. The sequel throws the player into semi-interesting levels that seem to do nothing more than take up space (now we're in a sewer fighting wall-crawling aliens. Wowwee!!) MSX does deserve credit though: they do add a some new enemies like mummies and aliens and gives two status changes (becoming very fat, which makes your bullets change, but nothing else, and becoming a mummy yourself, where you move very slowly and have limited control), and of course there are the few new Metal Slugs, but that's about it. The game uses mostly old enemies, including a few old bosses and mini-bosses.

Metal Slug X is fun, but little new. Special bonus mini-missions, add little replay value, and you should probably consider renting this before you buy it.

Fun, Fun, Fun....

Very basic graphics, but this scrolling game is a ton of fun and worth picking up.

This game is a great 2D side scroller. I am not a huge fan of this style of games, but this one in particular is great. The parts that you have to do platform jumping is forgivable since you can jump into a tank and blast away your enemies, which makes up for a little platform jumping.

A screaming game

Most of the levels of this game are cool ispecialy the last mission becouse the guy that gets eaten by a whale looks funny.
The part where it was most action is the train mission were the tank and the jet. The veicles even look funny. So I think that this game was born to be on a playstation or a playstation 2 systems.
