One of the most fun games i ever played!

this is a very fun. light hearted game. the concept is cool. you are in a fictional government group that uses music and dancing to fix peoples problems. the game play is the most fun. a song plays in the background and your job is to tap a series of numbers according to the beat. there are a good variety of songs, a lot of which are pretty catchy. as you go through the game the songs get more and more fast paced and it gets more challenging to follow the beat. its so much fun to play and it will entertain you for hours! i highly recommend it.

I enjoyed the game a lot!

I just got this game about 3 weeks ago. I had a lot of fun with it! The music collections are good, and most of them are really popular. There is one mission for each song, and based on the players' performance, the stories have different endings. The other fun thing is that besides competing with each other, when two players both have the game, they can co-operate to complete the missions under DS-DS connection mode. My friend and I had a wonderful time.

I had fun overall with the game but once I beat the game the songs got old real quick. For what it is I like it.

Solid game - lots of fun

The one downside to Elite Beat Agents is that that hard mode is *really* hard, and most of all frustrating. One wrong step and you have to start over.

But other than above, the game is very fun an creative.

5 stars for originality.

I purchased this game 2 months ago but thanks to Amazon for sending me an email to remind me not to forget reviewing this game! :) If you are a music lover, and find Japanese weirdness entertaining, then this game is for you! Lots of good music, funny animations and has good replay value. Don't miss on this wonderful game, even Gamespot ranked it as the Best DS Game of 2006.

Another quirky hit

This game, for me, is reminiscent of games like Katamari Damacy and Incredible Crisis- quirky, visually distinctive niche games from Japan that seemingly might have a hard time finding a following in the US. And one thing these games generally have in common is that the gameplay is deceptively simple; there's a deepness that comes from repeated plays, and an addictive quality that isn't apparent on first play.

Elite Beat Agents is very much in that vein. The game is sort of a Westernized version of a Japanese game, and while the story, music and graphics may have changed, the core gameplay hasn't, that that, when it comes down to it, is what really matters. Mostly because the core gameplay is excellent; the controls (entirely consisting of tapping and dragging around the touchscreen) are tight and responsive, and the beats you have to hit make sense once you get the rhythm of the song playing (tone deaf people, or people with no rhythm might want to avoid this title). And the music is an interesting mix of current pop songs and older stuff, such as "Y.M.C.A." by the Village People.

The story of the game is, in a word, interesting. You have a team of three tall, black-suited men with ridiculous hair who travel the world to solve its ills. But these ills involve things like distracting some children while the babysitter talks to he boyfriend about going steady. And how do you solve these, exactly? Simple; tightly-choreographed dance moves.
The story- and the animations that go with it on the top screen- is nothing but entertaining, and may prove to be a distraction from the dancing. This is a great spectator's game; if only the screen were bigger!

All in all, this is another great title that makes good use of the DS's touchscreen, and is recommended for anyone who has an appreciation for the absurd (for the story) and/or quality games.

One of Nintendo's elite games

I am normally a serious person. And that disposition affects the type of games that I play. Normally, I play epic games that have very high production values. Typically, I would play games in the Soul Calibur, Xenosaga, and Final Fantasy series. From time to time, I will even play mature, violent games, like God of War. I enjoy the experience from those games. Their captivating plot and absorbing gameplay give me the type of entertainment that I cannot get from television. Playing Soul Calibur gets my adrenaline flowing. There is a thrilling sense of accomplishment whenever I can execute Ivy's Summon Suffering attack during the heat of battle. It's the same type of thrill that I get whenever I play Xenosaga and take the female android, KOS-MOS, into battle. My mind racing, planning out a strategy that will allow me to build up her energy level (referred to as boost) in order to use her powerful triple-barrel Gatling guns against the enemy. Piloting KOS-MOS' armored fighting vehicle, the E.S. Dinah, is probably the best experience one could have in an RPG.

However, the stress of fighting an ultra-evil villain in order to protect the Universe can get to be too much. I enjoy playing Ivy, Siegfried, Kratos, Yuna, and KOS-MOS to fight against the evil forces that are out to hurt mankind. There's no more noble a cause than that, in my opinion. But there are times when you want to take a break from such adventures. And it is for those such times that you need a game like Elite Beat Agents.

The other reviewers have already done a very good job of telling you what EBA is all about. I just want to add that it is a very fun game, even for a serious person. It is a suitable game for any age. You will find yourself tapping and humming to the beat of the songs during play. It's a simple concept, tapping and tracing circles on the touch pad in time with the rhythm of the song. However, let me point out to you that it is very challenging. By challenging, I mean you can complete most of the missions with a modest amount of effort. But, it will take a lot of effort and practice to complete the mission with a high score. The higher your score, the more positive the outcome of the story will be. Ofcourse, if you fail, the story will not have a good outcome. Keep in mind though that the stories are lighthearted. None of the stories involve trying to stop a madman who is out to destroy the world. No, nothing like that. So your failure won't mean the end of mankind. These missions range from helping a cab driver keep his driver's license, to helping a babysitter win the heart of a football player. And you can always replay the missions in order to get a better score. The game has plenty of replay value.

I highly recommend this game. Just don't take it too seriously. And do not get frustrated if you fail the missions at the start. It will take a while to get used to it. When those circles start coming up on the screen fast, it will be a challenge to keep up. Do not get upset and do not poke a hole through your touch screen. A light touch will do. The DS screen is sensitive and accurate.

I must say it took a while for me to actually get the game. I heard all the hype and kept asking can it really be that good? The answer is yes. This game has a pretty decent soundtrack, awesome game mechanics, and enough humor and lightheartedness to keep you coming back again and again. If ever you were debating on whether to try this game or not,go ahead and plunk out the money if you have it, you won't be disappointed.

It is a dance game. Every stage has a story. I bought this for my son. He loves it very much.
