Too easy for a REvil game

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 1 / 4

The worst REvil game I have ever played. For sure. It is too easy, no puzzles, infinite bullets and really short. If you want a Resident Evil Buy the first one.

HORRID

This game is so terrible I didnt even finish it. I would rather play the first one a million times in a row then play this pathetic game. Even if you are a RE fan, don't get this. I only got it to put in my collection wich is going well right now. But anyways, DON'T GET IT.

Thumbs down --> Can't save!

The fact that you can not save your game is really a big draw back...you can save only if you die...

HUGE dissappointment

All I have to say is that this game is horrible. I found little in it I liked and I loved all the others in the RE series.

I found the gameplay to be almost "pre-RE1".

The excitement soon fades away.

The idea of this game was great. If maybe Capcom had made so that say you had to do all three locations instead of just choosing one (e.g. if you had to do the church, cinema and restaurant instead of just picking one of them etc.) then maybe this game could have been a bit longer and more exciting. In length it's only half a game. There are no FMV sequences like the ones in the other RE games and the graphics in the cut scenes are poor compared to the previous games. The character movement and speach is worse than ever before. Up to Paradise Prison the game is pretty good but from the prison section until the ropeway station, the game is amazing. And then we have to go to another factory or laboritory at the end just like we do in RE2 and RE3. The atmosphere in the umbrella labs in RE2 was great but in the two latest games it has really not been up to scratch. And then after this the game ends. The ending is poor and even the graphics on the text credits are [bad]. A three star at best.

Are you sure this is a Resident Evil game

Actually if it werent for the zombies i proabably wouldnt know that it was a Resident Evil game. This game gives RE a bad name! First of all its short! Short as in an hour and a half of gameplay for you first time playing it! Next is it has an awful story line! You a dude who lost his memory and thinks hes vincient (who is bad) and latter recovers his memory. Bosses..... im not sure if there are any,you run into Mr.X a few times but thats all besides the final tyrant......very easy! I just stood there while he ran in circles around me and jumbed over me and shot at him. Graphics.......hmmmm not good not good! Another thing is if your gonna play it and have a short ammout of time and think you can just play it,get a little ways in and save your wrong! No saves, nope none. Have i already said this game is easy? First time playing my ranking was an A. What about ammo, will you ever run out? Not in this game because you have unlimited ammo with the hand gun! Pluse you find ammo like crazy for the other guns! If you like playing bad games or are a huge resident evil fan get this game! If not forget it and play dino crisis2 or resident evil code:veronica!

A good game that had good intention, but got off track

Survivor was a good game in my mind, possibly because Im obsessed with everything Resident Evil! I believe capcom meant well with this game but got sidetracked in the development of other RE titles. I higly reccomend everyone to purchase this game I enjoyed it alot ( it could have been better!!!!, BUT IT STILL KICKS!!!!!!)

Don't even bother

If you like Resident Evil, or First Person Shooters, this is not the game for you. This one fails horribly on both fronts. There is no look around feature essential to any FPS, so you can be standing right in front of something, and not be able to see it because you can't look down! Not to mention the fact that the plot is weak, and has nothing to do with the continuity of the other games. Steer clear of this one at all costs.

the black sheep of residental evil

im a die hard resident evil fanatic and well the game itself i enjoyed it.
the controls are very bad in the game the graphics are lacking compared to the other playstation one resident evil games.
but i did like the story line and the fact that the name says it all survivor.
what i mean above is the fact that there are no save points it makes it more of a challenge and you have to think ahead with all of your items.
there are a limited amount of continues but overall its a fun game and the story line is good.

RESIDENT EVIL : SURVIVOR is the weakest game out of the series!

Okay, so maybe the title of my review is a little harsh. The worst RE game has to be the OUTBREAK series but even those games are still enjoyable to most Resident Evil fans. SURVIVOR is basically a side story to the "old school" plot but it has very little to do with the story line. It sheds light into the story here and there but over all is pretty much a throw away plot. The main thing that holds this game back from being actually good is the horrible controls. You can't really aim up unless your target catches a zombie/monster in it's sight. Then the camera jerks your vision upwards but leaves you helpless from attacks happening all around you. You'll b shooting something in one direction and then you'll be attacked from another. There is no reason why SURVIVOR is set up this way. The only thing I can think of is that CAPCOM went cheap while making this game. Now, I heard online that the import version of this game is much better. The camera follows you around much like the game HOUSE OF THE DEAD and over all, flows much better. If they would have just made the game this way, it might have been a little more enjoyable than what we're left with here. Leave it to America to go cheap on what counts! Anyways, if your able to put the bad controls aside then other problems in the game start to surface. The outdated graphics (granted part 1 dosn't have amazing graphics but at least that game seemed like it tried) and the boring levels really bring this game down. Did I mention it's hardly even scary? Normally a Resident Evil game is one intense experiance! SURVIVOR however only has a few cheap scares here and there. A zombie stumbles out of a corner, a monster jumps through a window, a dog jumps you out of nowehere. Pretty basic shocks if you ask me. On an end note, this game does have some enjoyable things about it. It does please the average Resident Evil fan and makes for a great time killer on those boring days. If your a fan of the series, check out the game. If your just passing through, play the other Resident Evil games instead. Otherwise you'll be confused and ticked off playing SURVIVOR. Move along folks, nothing to see here!
