Resident Evil: Survivor.. only for RE fans.

I have the Japanese version of this game, called Biohazard: Gun Survivor. You can use the controller and the Namco Guncon. But I've read Capcom has taken out the use of the gun, because it promotes violence. (the school shooting)The is the first Resident Evil game to use the 1st person perspective and it takes alittle getting used to. The frame rate isnt too good but you can learn to deal with it. I recommend this game to anyone that loves Resident Evil and has [the money] to spend.

Capcom is really overdoing this franchise.Personaly I am a big fan of RE games but this one is just messed up. RE is supossed to be a "cinmatic" Game. First: This is a first person shooter RE. 2nd you have to play the hole game in one sitting.Third :the great "pop out of your seat moments" are spoiled buy the stupid first person veiw. If you want a good RE game stick with the other four games or if you can wait,wait for RE:Zero.

I wish it never would've happened.

As upset as I was about the whole fact that Capcom ever deviated from the original pre-rendered screens I have to admit the game Resident Evil Survivor provides a few minutes of action. It is way too easy, but the Resident Evil title is enough to earn it 3 stars. I played the import which really wasn't all that great. The story provided few surprises and didn't shed much if any light on the original plot of the series.

Well, I Love Every Resident Evil Game, And This Combines From Favorite Monsters And Storyline With My 2nd Favorite Type Of Game! I Know That I'm Getting This Today!

I barely survived the graphics

On the whole this game was a great disappointment. I found the graphics and backgrounds to be poor-(particularly when compared with "Quake" and "House of the Dead II"). The puzzle solving was extremely unchallenging (keys that float above tables?) and the fighting sequences were slow. All in all I'm sorry I bought it. It seems to me to be a rip-off of the very successful Resident Evil Series.

Why is everyone bummed?

All over the internet, people are saying how Survivor sucks. People are saying how its a disgrace to the RE universe. Well, I'm here to give u people the real deal on this game compared to what the "Game Experts" are saying. Bad Graphics? No way, man. The graphics are awesome giving more detail to the monsters' bodies and faces that it ws incredible! As far as the gameplay was concerned, it was the same kind of gameplay that all Resident Evil fans have come to know and love. No difference. Some of the problems WERE the lack of plot and good voice actors. The voice actors were worse than RE1, and thats saying a lot. However, this does not at all affect the overall awesomeness of the game. The first-person concept was a brilliant idea for a Resident Evil game and well-done. This game might be a better rental game, though. As I had payed nearly everything the game had to offer in a couple of nights. But it was a great game, regardless of what anyone says. Rent it and find out for yourself.

A game the resident evil series would be better without.

I love the resident evil series. The games have great graphics,controls and storylines BUT resident evil survivor is horrible! The graphics are bad ,the controls can be confussing and the storyline is not thought out well at all. I'm happy Capcom tried something new with Resident Evil survior but this game just doesn't match up to the original games. Buy any other resident evil game but just don't buy this one!

Thumbs down --> Can't save!

The fact that you can not save your game is really a big draw back...you can save only if you die...

RENT THIS GAME, but don't buy it

I saw this on the shelf and thought, "a RE game, firstperson...for [not much]?". I clammored to the checkout counter and raced home to pop it in. Now you have to realize, I haven't bought a game since RE 2 came out, so I was pretty excited. The first thing I noticed was the dark grainy graphics and the fact that you can only look left or right. There is no jump. You can't look up or down which is kind of a pain when you are trying to see the layout of the room. At first I thought it was cool to have unlimited ammo, but it takes away the jitters of entering a room not knowing if you have the ammo to clear it. I also kind of like that you didn't spend hours wandering around an endless estate trying to find one little clue or animation that would allow you to advance to the next area. I hate having to pay $2.50 a minute listening to menus just to discover where a screwdriver is. Then again, when you do find it, it's a good feeling. You could walk through this game blindfolded. There are no real obscure objects and they might as well have a blinking neon sign telling you everywhere you need to go. I searched all over and never found a typewriter. It seems that you can't save until you die or beat the game. This isn't really a problem because you get like 9 continues. I used 2 to beat the game, it took all of 2 hours! This was really dissapointing because it took FOREVER to beat the first one. I remember those hermit-like days huddled over my controller with the same expression as the zombies I was shooting. Remember the anxiety you felt entering the sewer tunnels where the giant spiders lurked? In this game there are a couple of spiders but they just sit there stupidly until you shoot them. What's the point? The coolest part of the original was that every time you thought it would end, there was a whole other area to explore. Well, Survivor has a few areas to explore but they only consist of 4-5 rooms each. The ending is also very obvious because it is completely stolen from RE 2. I also want to comment on the graphics, they were getting better and better, especially with Code Veronica, but Survivor looks pretty grainy, almost like a Sega CD game. I didn't find the shooting too difficult to master, in fact this whole game was very easy, way too easy and way too short. There is absolutely no chance of you missing anything because if you push the L1 button you do a quick turn towards any enemy in the room. Once they are all dead, the same button faces you towards whatever items are there. These items are never hidden. They are always hovering, spinning and glinting light. There are a couple of instances where you can choose to enter different doors for a slightly different experience, but they always lead back to the exact same path. The annoying thing about this is that once you pick your path and try to backtrack, you are blocked and a sign comes up reading "there is no need to go back". What if I want to go back? It's like they're trying to rush you through the game. "Here's you're items, we'll make it easy to kill the bad guys, here's where you're supposed to go now just move it!" But it is a 1st person RE game, and that's just cool. As I say in my description, save the [money] and rent it.

First off, this is a fantastic game. Far better than the waste of time Nemisis game. The graphics are better, the voice acting is the best of the seris, and its something different. To that guy who compared the graphics to quak, well have you played the ps version? Its horrid. House of the dead 2 is an arcade game that was porrly ported over to the dreamcast, wich is the only reason it looks better. I think you people are just affraid to do something different. After re 2, it just got borring. To you people who complain about it beimg to short, well hey its a gun game. They werent ment to be rpg masterpeices. Besides who has the time, or the lack of a life to site down and play a game 4 or 5 hours a day? Not me. I beat this game in about an hour. 54 minutes to be axact. Big deal. I can beat re2 in about an hour fifteen minutes tops. This game is great, especialy if you love resident evil. I recomend that everyone rent this game before buying it though. Because not everyone has the same felings about games. So basicaly im glad that the seris has finaly done something new for a change. its realy needed it .
