Is that it?

3 Rating: 3, Useful: 3 / 4

I got this game a long time ago before i even knew how to play this game and now, that i am old enough to understand, i am slightly disappointed. these are some reasons why:

GRAPHICS:
The graphics are somewhat "bad" and there is no horizon, just
orange sky. The character faces are really messed up and whack
but it's acceptable.

GAMEPLAY:
This is why the game is fun, the gameplay. Following the movie
is always cool (in my opinion) and likeing the movie phantom
menace, it's awsome reliving the movie. There are so many
combinations on how you tap/press/hold your attack button. there are so many combinations.

DIFFICULTY/skill and control:
this part can sometimes be fustrating because you cannot block
other weapons (light sabers, staffs etc.) the only time you can block something is when you are deflecting blaster fire. that's
where the whole game becomes a baseball game. And it's also pure luck that whither you deflect a shot or get hit.

OVERALL:
this game was pretty good, but however, not too fun such as
battlefront or something. sometimes, it takes cheating to win
warning the following capital words are cheats and spoilers!
FOR PC, PRESS BACKSPACE AND TYPE IN "HAPPY" IF YOU HAVE AN AUTO-
MATIC LIGHT BLASTER. IT WILL TURN YOUR AUTOMATIC LIGHT BLASTER
INTO A AUTOMATIC CANNO. "HEAL IT UP" IS FULL HEALTH. "I LIKE TO CHEAT GIVES YOU ALL THE WEAPONS IN THE GAME FOR THE CERTAIN CHARACTER. "IAMQUIGON" MAKES YOU QUI-GON. "IAMOBI" MAKES YOU OBI WAN. "IAMQUEEN" MAKES YOU PADME. "IAMPANAKA" MAKES YOU CAPTAIN PANAKA, THE BODYGAURD OF THE QUEEN. IF YOU DO CHEATS 5 TIMES, YOU CAN'T DO ANYMORE CHEATS, HOWEVER YOU CAN DO THE FOLLOWING I AM CHEATS UNLIMITED TIMES.

No more spoilers! overall, if you are interested in this game,
i would totally recomended renting first. It just might so
happen that you will love this game. A WORD OF ADVICE, AT THE
LAST LVL WITH DARTH MAUL, SHOOT MAUL WITH A REAPEATING CANNON.

See you later alligator (no offense)

Lucasarts has done it again!

Well, once again, Lucasarts has made a WONDERFULLY entertaining game. While, I'll admit, the difficulty was a wee bit easy, all in all, it was a good game. If I have to complain about one thing, it would be the voice-overs. They were rather poor, but, that is probably the game's only downfall.

Best Star Wars Game Ever

This is the best Star Wars game ever created. Playing as different characters gives you a new excitment. The huge array of weapons makes the game ever so much funner. The lightsaber motions and battle droid explosions are fantastic. It gives you freedom; if you can see it, you can go there or destroy it. Even if the voices aren't that great, they're still voices and not little boxes of words that you have to read. The graphics are poor (okay, so they're awful), but the movie footage makes up for it. Also, the music video is THE BOMB! Buy it.

As fun and exciting as the movie

This game was incredible! Though I warn you before you play this, some of the levels takes a while to figure out and..(well not really a "while")..you just have to be patient. To be honest, it took me 3 months with no cheats or anything. It can be frustrating at times but you'll have fun. It's really awesome playing Jedis, Captian Panaka and Queen Amidala. I loved the lightsaber fights and the special effects...Careful with Thermal Detonators though...

I'll have a Saber with that one, please!

First thing to remember with this game is - KEEP WITH IT. Once you have mastered the controls it does get better. Based on the Phantom Menace movie, you get to control the characters Obi-Wan, Queen Amidala and others. With various weapons, blasters, rocket launcher and the favourite - the light saber. Background music is great, the graphics aren't so great but still playable with. The Cut scenes are your standard fare but are pretty impressive. It does get hard in places but by using the 'try, try again' method you should eventually get through it, puzzles are solvable and light-saber duels near impossible. The only major aspect of the game that I was dissapointed with was the ending - you'll see what I mean when you get there.

STAR WARS RULZ!

This is the best PlayStation game to buy. The storyline is great, the animation is great, and I really like the lightsaber. I never thought they would make the lightsaber deflect bolts. Anyway, the graphics are good, but I've seen better. It was worth every penny. I also bought Worms Armageddon, and I thought that was okay, but if I knew it was also for the computer, I wouldn't hve bought it. Wow. Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace is THE game to get this century! AND I MEAN IT!

Too easy, a maze game with little action

I waited months for this game and traded a few good ones to get it. I am really disappointed. I expected a Metal Gear Solid caliber of a game, this game doesn't compare in any way. Bad playability, little story or dialogue, and for most of the game you must lead other characters through the mazes who slow you down to a frustrating pace. I really hoped I would love it. You win some, you lose some I guess.

The Fetid Menace

Let's start off with what's good about this: there's an extended, behind-the-scenes look at the movie, which even includes a line from Darth Maul that was evidently edited out. The city of Mos Espa, easily the largest and most immersive of the levels, is quite fun, including at least one hidden subgame (a Jawa shooting gallery), and the levels preceeding it are decent training runs on the following levels.

Unfortunately, that's not all there is to the game. Puzzles which consist of not being hit, jumping to platforms (which, due to the obnoxious camera angles, may or may not be close enough to land on), and keeping suicidal characters alive drop the game's fun considerably. What's worse is the absolutely terrible voice acting, and the script that goes with it (my, but that Darth Maul is suddenly a chatty fellow). Had this game not borne the Star Wars logo, its destiny would be that of a small, unaspiring game. It's a good rental choice for the first couple levels, though.

Huge dissapointment!

If this was not a Star Wars game I would have thrown it out the window. The music video of the behind the scenes movie action was the best thing this game had going for it. The graphics, camera angle, dialogue, and game play were all below par, and the ending was a let down. I am a Star Wars fan, however only a real Star Wars nut could enjoy this game. I want my money back!

Disappointment

I'm an adult; My boys and I have had N64 for years and I've played Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie, and Zelda 64 - I enjoy the role-playing puzzle solving type games, and my boys 6 and 8 have enjoyed playing and watching me play. We got a playstation for Christmas, with Phantom Menace Episode 1. I find it extremely irritating that I'm stuck watching the movie setup for the first challenge every time I restart. There's no mental challenge to the game that I've seen yet (admittedly, I haven't got too far yet, but I may not have the patience to ever get far). I wish I hadn't broken the seal and could return the game!
