Here Comes Jason! Don't Sh@t Your Pants!

Hello, since im getting bored of writing reviews for movies and new games, im going to waste my time with old NES games.

In this game, your objective is to protect all the little kiddies in camp Crystal Lake, and mainly Beat Jason's Ass! Thats not very likely though. U can play as 6 camp counselors, only 2 of them are good, and the rest of them are there for Jason to toy with. This is probably the hardest NES game i have ever played besides TMNT. I am now going to break the game's description down into 4 paragraphs.

1) Sound- I cant help but laugh and get severely annoyed with the music! There is only about 3 songs in the whole game. One for outside, one for inside, and one for gettin killed by Jason. Other than that, all of the other sound effects are fine (for a NES game).

2) Graphics- They are actually good. Jason is very well detailed and zombies and other baddies are average. Wait, there is somethin bad about the graphics (detail). Inside of cabins is awful. My friend noticed that there is absolutely no furniture or anything inside of the houses. lol. The little kids don't have any beds to sleep in, or any t.v. or refrigerators, so maybe Jason doesn't need to kill them, they can just starve to death in there. Maybe there being punished. My good old friend also reminded me that Jason swims 30mph in the lake. Jason died from drowning but he's practiced his swimming skills since then. When fighting Jason in the cabins, it is Hilarious how your Counselor jogs sideways and ducks completely left or right to get out of Jason's Machete's way. In real life, those kid's ankles would break off from that. There is another problem with graphics too that makes me laugh. The weapons. Sometimes when u fight Jason he will have an axe with him. Or is it? ......a TOOTHBRUSH! NO, NO, STOP BRUSHING MY TEETH JASON! His machete looks like a hocky stick and rocks look like paper balls. Oh, and another thing, u only have to take 8 steps and your halfway across the map. I love this game.

3) Enemies- Oh i just love the other baddies. When Jason comes to town this time, he brings his posse (consisting of zombies, crows, wolves and WATER ZOMBIES! WOO HOO! Why kill these things when u can jump over them?! Your player can also jump over houses and even JASON! This game just can't get any better......im wrong. It gets a whole lot better, because u meet up with Jason's mom in this. She is one tough B%$#@ for her body only consisting of a head! U dont have to waste your time with her though. The difficulty in this game is very hard, only because u have to kill Jason 3 times. And he is a ton tougher each time u kill him. And when your in a canoe in the middle of the lake, just to piss u off, Jason darts out at u and u get killed easily (once he dashed out 5 straight times in less than 10 seconds). Jason also appears out of nowhere and hacks u to death in seconds. Potions dont help too much. But me and my buddy GEORGE (worst character u can be) wear him out all three times only to find out that Jason lives. (not surprising)

4) Weapons- U do get a lot of weapons in this game, if u waste alot of time acquiring them. U have to go around lighting up fireplaces and reading dropped letters in cabins. NO THANKS. Oh, some of the letters say "go into the cabin in the woods". And guess what? U enter the cabin to find nothing but your best friend Jason! Then he kills u and then u feel stupid for going there which took u 5 minutes to get there. HAHA for u. The weapons are rocks, knives, axes, machetes, torches, and pitchforks. The torch is the hardest to get but kills Jason the fastest. BUT WHO CARES?

I really do like this game, but i just have to make fun of it. Go and buy it for $5 and u will HAVE FUN!

The hardest game for the regular Nintendo but.......

I wrote a review on Friday the 13th Part 3, my favorite horror movie. It's my favorite movie because I accidently saw the part where the girl is in the shower, and Jason hacks the guy in half with the machete when I was six years old. I was afraid to take a shower for two weeks after that. Well I rented this video game a year or so later, against my dad wishes, and I needless to say, I was scared again. HA :)

When you play most nintendo games based on movies, they hardly follow the plot of the movie. Most of the time you just take on the roll of the characters, and they give you some story completely unrelated. However, with Friday the 13th (FT13), you are thrust right into the movie, (as much as a nintendo game can anyway...)You take on the roll of six camp counselors, at the famous Camp Crystal Lake. You're job is to take care of the campers for the summer, which becomes quite hard once Jason comes on the scene.

The graphics in this game are pretty good. I don't really play video games all that much, but they seem pretty good to me. You get a full map of Crystal Lake, (pretty cool), the six counselors look fairly decent, and Jason looks pretty creepy. There are three, I don't know what to call them, modes I guess, in the game. You get a map, where you can navigate around the camp. You get to do a side scrolling mode where you have to fight off a ton of zombies, and occasionally Jason. And then you get the creepy cabin exploration mode, where you explore the cabins occasionally running into Jason again.

The music is alright, kindof annoying at some points but, other points are pretty creepy, (cabin exploration). The music becomes pretty tense when you fight Jason.... and his MOM!!!! ooooooooooo

This game is pretty cool, especially if you're a fan of the movies. If you hated the movies, than chances are, you won't want to spend the time playing it. It is really hard, and almost impossible to beat, and very frustrating at some points. I think the game knows what you're thinking. But anyway, if you're a fan of the movies, buy it. It's worth playing.

Awsome game, creepy movie atmosphere!

This game is truly amazing for NES, even though it is very old and for NES it is still pretty cool. You can be one of many teenager (they look like kids though) to battle the great Jason and look for the missing children. Jaosn is very hard to kill, that the only reason I gave this a 4 instead of 5, he is creepy though, you find him in houses. Its a big level, with many houses, if you lucky you will go into the house with Jason and fight him , bu he allways comes back of course! I love the music, it is actually creepy, it sounds like something from a Friday the 13th movie,I love it! This is a game that will haunt you for hours!

A Memorable Game

Wow! I remember playing this game as a kid when it first came out and it truly scared me. Jason is in one of those rooms in a cabin and he will jump out and try to kill you... This game had many good weapons...rocks,knives,torches,and the machete. Ever find that machete? You can go in the cave and find a key and go in a secret door where you have a deul with Mrs.Voorhies's head. That was one of my favorite things about the game. (Of course, actually killing Jason for good is always the best...) Yes, I highly reccommend this game and I guarentee you will enjoy it. You can turn off the lights for an added effect.

I was like many other kids at the time when this game came out. Thought it'd be cool to play a Jason game. Well, like many kids did, I threw this game into the junk pile quickly after getting it, sad that I wasted money on such a piece of garbage.

-Graphics are what you'd expect from a NES game.
-Controls are stiff and thumb-numbing.
-Jason is stout and PURPLE!!
-After a while of running around you want to yank the game out because the sound effects of the alarm are so annoying!
-As many others have said, Jason is IMPOSSIBLE to beat!

You're better off playing Mike Tyson's Punch-Out, Urban Champion, or Kung Fu. Unless you're looking to get this game to complete your collection of rotten games, DON'T GET IT!

what were they thinking?

im doing this review with sarcasm. You play as a camp counsler. and isnt it fun to go around lighting fire places and throwing rocks at zombies. I just love it that the laws of left and right dont applie. The Jason alarm goes off sometimes and your map shows where you go so it looks like I go left so I walk that way and I look on my map and I was actilly going right. So when you get there a counsler sais thx and Im like thx for walking in the cabin umm your welcome. (Now im not using sarcasm) If you dont think the map is confusing wait till you go in the woods you dont know where you are and now I just want to get out. and the music is agnoining id turn the volume down but I have to hear the Jason alarm and its all a test of my self control

Horror movie fan!!!!

Get this, my parents bought this game for me as an Easter present back in the day... I loved it.
They usually never bought video games for me because I never liked them (they kept my friends in the house during the summertime... how lame is that?? I had to resort to playing one-on-one with my shadow which, by the way, guarded me pretty well) but this was an exception since I love horror stuff.

This game, like other reviewers say, is VERY scary and it totally 'puts you in the movie.' Even with the untraditional Friday the 13th characters like zombies & what not, you still feel like you're in the movie. The game's setting is identical to the movie's and Jason looks very scary, as does his mom. The music is annoying but still a good selection for a scary video game.
You have a selection of counselors that you use throughout the game, each has a different talent (one is fast, one jumps really high, one is really strong but slow... etc). If you lose energy with a counselor, you can switch to one of the others but somewhere down the line you'll have to go back & use the weaker one again... it's a teamwork game.

The game is hard to beat but, in my opinion, it's harder to find all the weapons. I beat Jason before I found all the weapons.

This game was reviewed poorly back in the day but I loved it, as will any horror movie/game fan around (even with the outdated graphics).

I recommend getting this game along with a working NES for this and a couple other games if so inclined.

Ok, I can't figure out why I just reviewed this game... I'm as lame as the kids that stay in the house to play video/computer games during the summer... KIDS, GET OUTSIDE, THE PARKS ARE EMPTY... you'll have plenty of time to play video games when you're old has beens like me!!!

Jason is as difficult to kill as he is in the movies

YOu don't know challenging until you have palyed Friday the 13th. For one thing time is always against you and the weapons (are bad). IT really follows no movie story line but still can hold it's own and provide many hours of gameplay.
The music is basic NES style.
Graphics are the same thing but has one of the coolest NES entrences ever, I won't spoil it.
The controls are very smooth which is nice.
The difficulty on am scale from 1-10, would be an 11. I mean this one difficult game as a whole. YOu will not be able to win on teh first try guarentted. YOu also have to beat Jason (all his HP drained) 3x and eaxh time he gets a little faster and a little stronger.
However still buy this because it is fun. YOu won't regret it (your controller might though).

It's going to be a bloodbath!

At first I thought Friday the 13th was going to be boring
as my friends said but when I bought it, it was awesome!
But the hard part about the game is that you can't kill Jason
that easily! He's Freakin' Fast Yo!!
But I love the game!
