Nicktoons Should Reunite for a Better Game... They Deserve Better Than This...

2 Rating: 2, Useful: 13 / 15

As Spongebob, Danny Phantom, Timmy Turner and Jimmy Neutron you'll play through a pretty short adventure. You can only control one at a time, and the others will be accesible via touch screen. So you can switch to other characters in the middle of all the action.

Each character as their own special abilities. Spongebob can float using bubbles, and he can shoot them at enemies. Danny can go through walls and shoot plasma bursts. Timmy can hide behind a bush and call on his Fairy Godparents, and Jimmy can use his jet pack and a shrink ray.

I'll be honest and say that creating a game where the nicktoons team up is an exceptioinally good idea. I just wish it had been executed much better. For one, there's never a point throughout the game where you'll actually need to use any one characters special abilities. You can just go into a level and start shooting. The enemies aren't aggressive either and are taken down way too easily. It's pretty sad, considering this game really had a lot of potential to be something good.

The controls aren't great either, and neither are the camara angles. The only time the game gets any difficulty is when you're actually navigating a level. The controls are just clunky, and the camara angles--despite the fact that you can change them--are terrible!

Graphic wise this game isn't soo bad. The character models and animations look exactly like their nicktoon counterparts, which is very much welcome. While the characters present themselves well, the enviroments don't. A lot of them are repetative, stale and boring. Again, the game had so much potential.

The sound is alright. Not the greatest. It never really branches out. It's also a disappointment that there is no voice acting. This is the perfect game to include voices! It could've really felt like playing through a nicktoon that way. The story is dragged out in storyboards where you've got to read everything. I'm not against reading, but come on, the video game world is moving to the point where voice acting really could liven up a game. Some instance where it isn't necessary (RPGs, mainly), but in a game like this, it would be really cool to hear Danny Phantoms voice or something.

It's also a drag that you don't really use the touch screen for anyting other than switching characters.

Really, what it boils down to is this: It's in a genre that's very widely known. One where we already get hundreds of copies of the same thing released. If the game were more innovative I would gladly recommend it. Instead it's like every other 3D platformer that tries to break out. The difficulty is too easy (you can go through the entire game without getting hit once), the story is generic and something we've heard over and over. The sound is too generic. The entire game is generic. What I'm saying is that it does nothing to separate itself from your stereotypical 3D platformer.

This game had potential. It still does. If a sequel is made and it happens to go above and beyond, I'll look into it. Your kid might like it, though. The average gamer will venture into the "Been there, done that," category.

Did...better...than...I...thought it would do. Awesome graphics,
and neat that it isn't a 3-d side-scroller like Sponge Avenger,
Ultimate Spider-man, Spider-man 2, and Sonic Rush. This game is
the Nickelodeon version of Super Mario 64 DS!

And that game ruled!

This game would be better if it had Dan Phantom (Danny's future
counter part, who was evil, from Danny Phantom: The ultimate
Enemy; tv episode, and game for the GBA.)

Besides that this game looks great!

This game offers a good time, but control problems can sometimes be a real pain in the neck. For Instance, I often Find I can't beat a level because Jimmy's hoverpack activated on it's self, causing all the juice to run out. Also, simple mistakes can prove to be level losing.

I was really hopeing for some multi-player action which would have made this gime 100 times better... Other than that its just another run of the mill adventure game, you really have to be a fan to like this game.
