Most movie based games that appear on the DS and Gameboy Advance are usually just poorly made games meant to make as much money off the movie licence as they can. The DS version of the game is definately better than the game boy version, but there are a lot of things that could have made it a much better game. The story mode is lame, and it shouldn't even be considered a story. Heck, you can't even save during it, so if you need to stop playing at that exact moment, you have to start all over again when you play the game again. In addition, the challenge mode doesn't offer a whole lot either and the melee mode gets boring really fast.

The only people who might enjoy this are little kids. Basically, if you purchase this game you are just sending Activision the message that you will pay for a medicre game if it has the Shrek logo on it.

On another note I don't know what that other guy was talking about because Kirby Canvas Curse is easily one of the top games on the DS don't listen to him saying this is a better.

it's okay

my 7 year old finished this game in a couple hours! Super easy, but he seemed to enjoy it.

One of the DS's best...

First of all, let me begin by telling you that I just got my DS 3 days ago. With is, I got the Metroid Prime Hunters demo and Kirby Canvas Curse. Now, I am not saying I do not like them, because I do indeed, but I think this is SO much better than both of them! I have been playing DS's for awhile now, but I just got my own. I played the following:

Super Mario 64 DS
The Urbz: Sims in the City
Ping Pals
Kirby Canvas Curse
Metroid Prime Hunters (demo)
Pictochat (Built in)
Shrek SuperSlam

Shrek SuperSlam is the newest game for the Nintendo DS, it is a 4-Player Melee fighting game featuring 12 different Shrek characters. Now, the story for this game is just messed up. Donkey has invited his friends over for a game of cards, but the Dronkey's are just flying all over the place and stopping them from playing! Now, you select the character (Shrek, Ogre Fiona, Donkey, Puss in Boots, Gingy, Prince Charming) and he/she tells the Dronkey's a story to make them go to bed. Now, in these story's, it always ends up in a bunch of fights in the story. It always ends with a fight against the Lil' Witch. The story mode is NOT that good. The real stuff is in the Mega Challenges and the Melee mode. In melee mode, you get to pick between 12 Shrek character's and in Mega Challenges, these are like event matches in Super Smash Bros. Melee. There are also unlockables, like new costumes for characters and 3D Character modles. This is paid out with "French Flies". The part that makes this make sense is the person who grants the unlockables, King Frog. This game has a Multi-Player mode which I have not tried yet (Because I got this yesterday). As I said in the title, this is one of the DS's greatest games and is certinally worth getting! For 29.99$, you can't go wrong!

This Game is No Fun at All.

This game is not a very good game. You may wonder why I say this so I will tell you. It is very repetitive, you do the same boring stuff over and over again. The weapons are not very good either. The game has almost no storyline other than Donkey's kids want a bed-time story and you have to have a series of fights to go along with the story. Also characters have only on special move the rest are shared by all characters. The graphics aren't anything special but they are pretty good. I'd say the graphics and the variety of characters are the only good parts about this game. This game also has "mega challenges" which are mini-games for you to play, which are not all that great. Overall I give this game 1.5 stars and would only reccomend it to someone who enjoys totally pointless fighting and really needs a game badly.

Forget About It!

Shrek looks uglier then an ogre should in this game. The movements of the characters is VERY inaccurate.
