By far the best Final Fantasy ever!!!

Whenever I think of Final Fantasy, this is the game I think of. I first played FFI for the 8-bit Nintendo console and liked it, but once I had the SNES and got my hands on FFII, I couldn't get enough of it. I still to this day play it from time to time. It's just a fun game to play. True, the graphics and sounds are nothing like the 64/128-bit video games of today, but for it's day and age it was pretty awesome. I've been an avid FF fan ever since the first one, but after FFVII the greatness has kind of dwindled in my personal opinion. But this FF is a great one. It's a cute story. In order to fully appreciate it, you had to play it back in 1991 when it first came out. Compared to other video games of the RPG genre during the day it was top notch. In any case, if you haven't played it and are an avid RPG fan, you need to play it all the way through at least once. This game is a classic and there are tricks in it that every FF fan knows. For example, like the duplicating left/right handed items.

One of the best

This game is one of the three kings of SNES RPGS. Great storyline, good graphics (if you like the old 2D style), good music, and cool characters.

This was the first Final Fantasy Game I've ever played. I was totally hooked on this game. When I played this for about two weeks, I was impressed on how the story and gameplay was very unique. Mazes are challenging, Enemies go from easy to hard and are very cool by the way. After playing Final Fantasy 2, I bought original Final Fantasy 1 on regular Nintendo. It's amazing how games this old still have you going WOW! This one is a definate must own. Even the Playstation Final Fantasies don't get up the these standards! This one is by far the true Final Fantasy! This game is now extremely rare, so get it now before it gets really hard to find.

One of the Best Games of All Time...

This game is one of the greatest games ever. It may be ages old but it still stands up there amongst the other great titles in any console. The storyline is probably the best of all the FF's, the music is great, and there are tons of secrets, enemies, and places to explore, which is a disappointment in the newer FF's, such as the one for PSII. And the graphics were great for their time, back in the good old days of SNES. The characters are great too, Cecil, Kain, Rosa, etc. This game just had a perfect balance of everything. If you liked other SNES games like Zelda, Secret of Mana, Mystic Quest, Illusion of Gaia etc. you will love this one. It is worth getting a SNES for this game alone.

First FF for the SNES was a great success!

Final Fantasy IV (called II when it was first released out of Japan for the SNES because we never got the real II and III back then) is yet another wonderful Final Fantasy. Originally released in 1991, this was the first FF for the SNES. Many great SNES Squaresoft games would follow (Secret of Mana and Final Fantasy VI (III) to name a few).

FF IV follows Cecil, a member of the Baron Red Wings. The king of Baron has been acting strange lately, and he asks Cecil to deliver a package to the town of Mist. Cecil's longtime friend Kain accompanies him. Little do they know that the package burns down the entire town, and the game takes off from there. Every character has their own skills (ex. Kain is a Dragoon, so he can Jump) like in FF VI and IX. I like the FF's where the characters have their own skills more than the Job System, although both are very good.

Music was really upgraded to SNES quality, and it doesn't disappoint. You'll find the famous FF Prelude, chocobo music, an awesome final boss theme, as well as many other wonderful tunes. They all go together with FF IV very well.

The challenge for this game isn't very tough, because this was the Easy Type released out of Japan. They had an Easy Type and a Hard Type. You can only find the Hard Type by buying FF Chronicles, which contains the original FF IV Hard Type and Chrono Trigger. Hard Type has more magic, skills, etc., and the enemies attack much more often. But still, FF IV Easy Type is a good FF to start out on if you haven't played any other FF's before. It has all the qualities that make an FF good: great story, exceptional graphics (for the time it was released), very good character development, wonderful music, and it's easy to play. If you're an FF fan and you haven't played FF IV yet, I recommend doing so quickly; it's one of the best FF's out there!

like the title it sure "Was" fun when I was younger the game back then was on top of RPG game. Nowadays it's hard to rate FF2 because memories of my childhood just comes into mind and not really the game itself. Overall this game will stay with me but not sure if I could recomend it to the new gens.

The second best Final Fantasy game.

Next to Final Fantasy VI (FFIII) this is the best game in the franchise. Everything is perfect; gameplay, sound/music, graphics, and most of all it's story.

One thing I've notice with these games is that The best stories in Final Fantasy don't completely revolve around a love story, being overly emotional about someting, or a villian responsible for 3/4 of all the slash fanfiction on the internet. I'm looking at you Sephiroth. Buy this game at all costs along with FFVI, and FFXII, and bury FFVII in it's well deserved grave.

Great Game, with an extraordinary storyline. Great for collectors of vintage video games and for gamers who like to play the oldies. Not too short and not too long a great addition to any gamers collection.
