A great fantasy/strategy game.

Gemfire is a fun and fast paced (compared to some of Koei's other efforts) strategy game set in a fantasy setting that was much more appealing to me than the usual Chinese settings. Best played with multiple players. Your armies will gain special units like skeletons and orcs in addition to powerful monsters from those kingdoms who hold gems. Anyone who enjoys strategy games but thinks that they are too slow or lack an interesting setting should give this one a try.

Gemfire is chess, economics and fantasy wizards all in one. If you like chess and enjoy strategy you'll enjoy Gemfire. Introduced to this game in 1993, to this day because of the many different senarios you can choose from you can still get a fresh new game by choosing a smaller less equipped army. Be a politician! Learn leadership roles and responsibilities in this powerful entertaining game of strategy. Gemfire is a very good game and well thought out.... wish Koie would come out with a newer release.
