Nothing to be excited about

Pros: Can't think of any (ummm...maybe the vivid colors, MAYBE)

Cons: Everything! Gets really frustrating and repetitive even some will say it's not. Go for some other racing game, this is not worth the money, rental...MAYBE.

It's my first game, and I still play. This game delivers tons of adrenaline and fun.

Needs offline multiplayer

I have bought about a dozen titles now and this is my least favorite. My kids also played it for about 3 days, got bored with it, and havent played it since. Here are the issues:

1. Needs offline multiplayer. I want to race my kids. They want to race me and eachother. We arent buying a ps3 for each member of the family. The box said multiplayer. GIMME MUPLTIPLAYER ACTION with people i know.

2. The game is kind of repetitive.

3. The game is difficult, you will play a long time to win a single race and be able to advance to the next race. Takes longer than your interest will allow.

DONT BUY THIS GAME UNTIL OFFLINE MULTIPLAYER IS AVAILABLE. Then it may be worthwhile, otherwise too many better titles out there.

Looks great, get's old fast

First off the game looks, feels, and appears amazing. Best graphics and handling of a racing game i've seen. However it gets boring real quick. There are very few tracks and you just keep doing them over and over and the only thing that changes is the type of vehicle you drive and the difficulty. And the few tracks that there are, aren't even that fun to begin with. I'm only on level two, and I'm already bored.

Get this game if you like cheap thrills, but if you're looking for substance and re-playability, this game sucks.

Take a lesson from Off road fury 4, they had a ton of great tracks. You could upgrade your vehicle, buy new vehicles, and there was even a story mode. This game gives you no incentive to keep playing.

Really Good Racing Game

I have had alot of fun with this game and I am far from beating it. Plus there is plenty of DLC for it. I'll admit that COD4 leaves me little time for anything else, but when I need my racing fix, I reach for Motorstorm.

Here is what happens with this game: the first couple of days I thought it was excellent, the graphics were unbelievable and it was really fun to play. But then the issues begin. First, the tracks start repeating themselves way too much; the concept of the game is that the tracks have different paths you can take, and some work for some vehicles and not others. But the biggest issue with this game is how ridiculous gameplay gets when you reach level 3. While before this point, your opponents would try to make you crash, it was all within reason, and they were still behaving in a way geared towards winning the race. In Level 3, all your opponents will try to make you crash no matter what. I even saw that when I am in third, the racer that is in second will slow down until I get near and try to push me off the track. Absolutely ridiculous! It would have been much better if in order to increase the difficulty they had used trickier tracks, but it seems that this was too much work!

Another problem with this game is that you cannot race against a friend, unless you do it online. I believe that getting a split screen for two players could not have been all that difficult, so I am not sure what they were thinking. On the plus side, the online play is fun though and since the game was bundled with the PS3, there are a lot of opponents online ready to battle. As I mentioned, the graphics are outstanding, and it is fun to see the crashes, with people flying through the air. The fact that the vehicle retains the damage until you destroy it is another big plus. As to gameplay, the way in which the different vehicles react to the commands is very realistic. This provides for a lot of entertainment, since you will have to get proficient at handling bikes, ATVs, buggies, rally cars, mud pluggers, racing trucks and rig trucks. Also, the fact that you will need to figure out which route to take with each of these, adds an element of fun to the action.

I am confident that we will see a MotorStorm 2 game in the near future, and I hope that it addresses the issues that made the first version only an OK game for me, since the potential is definitely there.

Not Great

I got this game with my console.

Let me say this, the game is good compared to last-gen sytem racing games. Unfortunately, the game is as limited as last-gen systems. There are about 8 tracks of formula racing that are marginally more complex than a super nintendo course. Of course, the graphics are far greater than a 16-bit system, but the game is incredibly limited.

If you did not get this game in your system package, I would not reccomend it. I have played it about 10 hours in the past 2 months I have owned my ps3. I purchased the new burnout game and it dwarfs all aspects of this mud track catastrophe. I feel bad for abandoning this game because there were a couple of fun vehicles, but the forced and timed racing on a very limited selection of strict and timed tracks makes the game very unenjoyable very quickly. This is a great introduction to next-gen graphics, but it is not a lasting title...

Awesome Game

My "Title" for this review is correct in my opinion. I love the game play and on-line mode...stayed up for hours playing this game. I ordered the Dualshock 3 controller and makes game play that much better. If your looking for a new game then try this one out.
