The unorthodox battler

I must admit, Tuff E Nuff is not even a contender for top fighting games of all time. It can't begin to clip Streetfighter 2's toenails, let alone offer a significant challenge. Nonetheless, what makes the game fun is its simplicity. The moves are somewhat easy to pull off, and the characters offer a decent contest. What I enjoy most about it is the rewind feature, allowing you to watch the last seconds of defeat or victory. I wish all the fighting games had this feature. It simply makes it more interesting to defeat characters using certain moves just to watch it in slow motion over and over again. Gloating in vs. matches against your friends isn't bad either. Pick it up if you can find it, and printout the movelist from gamefaqs.com. In the last 6 years, I have owned this game 3 times. That's just how much I love it.

BEST STREET FIGHTER II RIPOFF 8 OUT OF 10

I can honestly say I was impressed by Tuff E Nuff, because of how well it rips off Street Fighter II while staying true to the formula. The environments are gorgeously detailed, the characters are well-designed, the music is fantastic, your opponents are cool, the game is very challenging, and the fighting techniques are awesome for how much there are in selection. The biggest issue with the game is the fact that it can be paticularly frustrating when facing a difficult opponent in which you will probably die several times; so think of this game as the Ninja Gaiden of fighters. Still it's a very rewarding and fun fighting experience which no Street Fighter II fan should miss out on.
