Great action and thats about it

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 2 / 12

I just beat the game in co-op. I was thoroughly disappointed with a few things about the game.

With regards to the story line, it sucked! It does not tell you how the Chief died! It goes from him being on a ship to a funeral, literally. I thought that was ridiculous, and it doesn't say what happened to Cortana. In terms of event-sequencing, it was ok too. From the way the commercials made it seem, I was expecting an "epic" battle to end the game where the Master Chief was being held up by a Brute. No, it was a racing game to jump on a ship. In terms of action, thats how the game ended.

Graphics: They were phenomenal except when it came to the human characters. I was upset by this as well. The Chief, landscape/environment was all super cool and real looking, but the humans looked like cartoons, it was pathetic. There's still some other things they coulda worked on. For example, when switching weapons, there's little-to no animation with this. I was hoping for it to look like Gears where you see the person literally go through all the steps to reach and bring out the weapons.

The actual game play was lots of fun. I beat the game on heroic and was impressed by the A.I. There are tons of intense battle scenes and situations. I can't wait to play multi player either, should be tons of fun!

Overall I enjoyed the game, I was just let down on a few things that I thought should have been upgraded.

"Is it Soup yet?"

...There was an old commercial for dried soup ingredients that you'd add to some boiling water & then you'd have to wait & wait. A little kid would ask her mom the famous question, "Is it soup yet?" I will go on record here as one of those who ultimately prefer the original "Halo" over "Halo 2". I just feel the first one is better fun to play. Yes there are a bunch of fine improvements in "Halo 2", but I like the first best. & I am pretty tired of "Halo 2" online. "Far Cry" is much better on Xbox Live... I'm still looking forward to "Halo 2" nonetheless. I am rating this non-existant, highly anticipated game at 2 extremes, 1 & 5, because it's no fun to play a game that doesn't exist yet, but I will probably enjoy it if it ever does come out.

Overhyped and still it doesn't bring anying new

I played halo and halo2 when they cam out i'am not huge fan these games but they get job done if your looking for game with alot of action. These game pretty much shine where the multiplayer is conserned but even looking back at the oringal halo it really brings nothing new to the fps market you run blast anything that moves and move on we played this type of game when fps 1st came out with wolfenstien 3d doom and doom2 to name a few just they increased more ways to frag people when they play multiplayer the game has no puzzles has no dodge techniques no shooting behind obstales like u can in gears of war so really when you strip the game down to bare bones it just somthing we played allready with a new coat of paint. This game is more for people who don't want to think about how to get from point A to B just hold down trigger until enemy falls over really it's a great game it just doesn't bring anything new to what we played in the fps allready.

BETTER THAN GEARS??? I think NOT!!!!!!!!!!

The greatest Halo the Universe has ever known

I have absolutely no idea why people see this game as horrid.

After spending well over eight hours on the campaign on my first try, I have been absolutely wow'd by the game. Without a doubt, this is the best of the Halo trilogy. It packs elements of all the other Halo games, as well as all of the novels and throws in a bit of its own. Add that all in a blender and pour that into a cup and you get one fun, tasty treat. Halo 3's plot, although rather long, has many twists that just kept surprising me every time I watched a cutscene. They are all beautiful and do not suffer the same problems as the cutscenes in Halo 2. I was really pleased by the enormity of the game. THIS is the way Halo is supposed to be.

Without a doubt, the trilogy's plot is concluded. There are no major cliffhangers like there are in Halo 2, yet there's definitely lots of room for the Halo universe to be expanded on. I definitely forsee lots of Halo fanfictions coming out once more people beat this game.

The only real complaint I had were the complexity of the levels. The levels on Covenant structures and ships were incredibly confusing. Thankfully, the game is willing to help you out after a while.

I have yet to truly touch the multiplayer - I spent all my time in the past few days absorbing myself into the campaign. But from what I've seen, it seems that Bungie has created a masterpiece with lots of re-playability. Even the campaign. You definitely want to come back and play some single-player or bring two or three friends. There's just so much to do and to discover.

Cheers, Bungie.

Halo 3

I think one of the first things I did when I started to play Halo 3 was compare it to Gears of War and Halo 2. Gears of War is one of those games where you can say "if I were to come up with a wishlist of how a game should be designed this would be it." Halo 3 is no different with the awesome graphics, Heads Up Display, new weapons and action.
The first night that I played I was a little aggrevated with getting used to using the controller, but after the second night I really had no problems with it. All in all I will say you won't be disappointed with Halo 3 and you'll be glad you bought an Xbox and not a PS3 or Nintendo Wii.

People shouldn't say...

that Halo 3 is a terrible game or a piece of garbage if they suck @$$ at playing it. If you suck at the game, don't say it's terrible, just come out and say you're terrible at playing it. And if you say that people are suckers for buying the game after listening to all the hype, then you're a sucker too because you "fell" for it too. People who can't play video games and say that the games themselves suck, just shut the hell up.

A Simple Solution

I'm sorry, I didn't realize I wasn't allowed to like it. I mean all of the hours of pure joy I've had and meeting new friends that I've had for years now... Pfft! Meaningless! I'm sorry that you can't stand something I adore. I really didn't realize that by playing the game, someone I've never met or talked to would despise me for it.

Opinions are like... You know. But there is a very simple solution to your dilemma. If you don't like it... Don't play it.
