So Much for PC Gamers

1 Rating: 1, Useful: 12 / 110

Am I wrong or do developers even bother with PC gamers anymore? Once again product loyalty falls flat, fall in love with a Game story line and it will go away. Xbox 360 or bust, well screw you Microsoft.

COD4 is much better. Pick it up instead.

I was not too impressed with this game after the dust settled. I haven't touched it once since I got COD4. Honestly if I compare this to COD4 I would say halo loses on all fronts fun, online, graphics. I just fell for all the hype of halo and I liked the first one, this one is a lot better than part 2 though.

Couldnt tell this was the third

I bought the first halo, and was not impressed, waited for this game to come out and.... well it almost exactly as the original halo.... I mean seriously, I didnt play the second and hoped this was going to have superb improvements.... If you didnt like other Halo games, this is no saving grace.

this game was solid

Halo 3 has been out for about 3-4weeks now and already the multiplayer is losing it's appeal and the campaign was horrid from the get-go. Do not buy this game unless you are hooked up to xbox live. The multiplayer is a lot of fun except the maps are starting to feel old and their matchmaking system seems very limited. Your preferences are limited it to ranked matches or social matches, and game type(slayer, teamslayer, CTF, etc). But when it comes to what map you want to play or what weapons, you have no choice. Ex...you can't say, match me up with other people who want rocket launchers on this map. There needs to be more variety.

Prediction: Over the next couple months Bungie is going to add gametypes like the one mentioned above(just rockets) to make it fresh, although they're really adding nothing new. Just recently they up social matches from 12 players to 16 players, why wasn't it 16 players to begin with???when on the back of your game box it states you can have a max of 16 players.

too short!

I shouldn't even have played this but i did and i thought the gameplay was amazing. but then the campaign ruined it. what happened from the point of the forerunner ship masterchief was on? and what the hell was that thing on Earth!? so many questions left untold but i thoroughly enjoyed this game. espicially the online gaming. it is a litlle beter than H2 in some ways.

Great Game the you'll be playing for a long time!

Halo 3 is a great game. It is a lot of fun to play, but the biggest advantages come from playing with other people. The campaign can be played with up to four people, however only two can play on a single system. You can play through the story with or without scoring allowing for playing for fun or more competitive play. The skulls that have been in the previous game have been improved to allow options making the campaign more difficult but also creating the possibility for a higher score.

The multiplayer aspect to the game is great too and also has been improved. Up to 4 people can play together on a single system, online or local/system link. If you have more people playing they do not need an xbox live gold account, but without one the can not play in ranked matches. Matchmaking is a new improvement to Halo 3. Instead of waiting in lobbies the game will match you up with people who want to play similar game types. You can always party up with people you find that you want to continue playing with. Also, if you have a party of friends you can play on custom games which allows you to play your choice of game types and completely change the options.

There is also two new modes, forge and theater. Theater is the simplest mode that allows you to play back your previous matches. While playing them you can create snapshots or movies of your favorite moments, then upload them to you [...] profile. Forge is great as well, because you can edit the layout of the maps and create your own custom game types. These edits can also be uploaded to bungie's website.

The final integration is that [...] website. It tracks all of your statistics and your rank. It allows you to compare your performance to that of your friends. Also all of the uploaded pictures and films of your friends can be downloaded. However, since the films are in game data they can only be viewed in the game. You can also download game modes. So if your friend made the "most awesome game type ever!" you can download it and play against them in it in custom games. The website allows you to queue up to eight items to download the next time you turn on the game. Pictures you can download right away and use on your computer. Its nice.

So, at first glance this might appear like a small update it is a pretty full package, even if you just buy the regular version of the game. It wont be hard to find people to play against in this game, and the formula that made Halo and Halo 2 is still there, with some improvements. Even if you didn't like Halo or Halo 2 I would still recommend trying this as it really fills out what was missing in those games. The combination of local and online play, the 4-player campaign, the campaign scoring, the forge level editor, the theater, and the file share are all new features that make this game stand out over pretty much any other game available.

The best Halo ever

Halo is a great franchise and everyone knows that. This game raises the bar for first person shooters for me. Sometimes I can't see why people don't like this game. It is so good. Online will never get old and campaign is good. I liked Halo ce better but it was better than Halo 2. The new weapons they have are SWEET. The assault rifle, gravity hammer, and the mongoose and hornet vehicles. This game is so good and the only complaint I have is that the energy sword's reticle is still to close but that doesn't ruin the game. Also the spartan laser which is a laser that, if held down will destroy anything.

best game EVER!!!!!

this a a very fun game to play at first it is a little hard but after the first few little "battles" with the covenant it gets easier. you can also do minigames, but the actual campain is a lot funner and the leveles "easy" is easy normal is normal heroic is HARDER than heroic and unless you are a world champ at video games do not do legendary. when you do solo you start out with a machine gun and a pistol but Co-op you start out with a machine gun and a sniper rifle. the graphics are very good but the lighting is a bit low so sometimes it is hard to see. there are lots of items WHEN you get to the building missionyou get all kinds of items. the "forge" thing is very fun. and thats all i have to say. hope you like it!

Halo3 - Halo's Greatest Hits Vol. I

2 Rating: 2, Useful: 1 / 3

As expected with a greatest hits compilation, you get everything that made Halo 1 and Halo 2 fun. Thats the problem with Halo 3 - its a rehash and nothing more. The real game play is in the multiplayer but when one buys the game it should equally divided or close to it with the solo campaign being just as strong. The story is very weak and lacks consistency with Halo 1, not to mention some pretty lame attempts to link the series (Why would the index from Halo 1 work with a new Halo?). Anyway, this is a game that definitely deserves a rental or a borrow but not a buy. I bought it, and I'll let my buddy borrow it, then I'll return it. Sorry Microsoft, the hype machine never met the end result despite your best efforts.
