Could have been better

I just picked this game up on a whim for pennies and while it has its fun moments (and looks fairly good graphically) it wasn't really worth much more than I paid for it.

Essentially, you have 12 playable charachters with slightly different abilities (better at sneaking/sniping/medical/etc) to choose from, you choose 4 per mission and can control each of the 4 one at a time in a first or third person view. While you control one the computer controls the others and this can be both good (the computer can see so much better than you) or bad (little to no AI). The weapons are authentic enough for this type of game and everything looks really good. However, even with the graphics pushed all the way to the max you still find yoruself repeating the levels enough times to memorize exactly where every enemy is located because you just can't seem to spot them. Regardless of how slow you walk, whether you are upright or prone, etc, you will usually be spotted by the enemy before you can spot them and be put down in short order. Frankly, I just got tired of dying so put the game away after only 3 levels.

The worst WW2 game of all

This game really sucks!
Sometimes you can not see the enemy, and they are shotting to
you! What, non-see nazis?
Do not buy this game.

Great Value Action / Shooter Sim

This is an older title, that is now very affordable and well worth the money.
Similar to may other games around at the moment, including the hugely popular Medal of Honor - you control a special unit of soldiers through around 12 or so levels across Europe during the latter part of WWII.
An array of weapons, tasks and specialities are available to you as you equip up to 4 team members (picked from a choice of 12 for each mission)on each level, which progressively get harder and require more task solving. The "Easy" level is actually not that easy, and where the game scores, I feel is in believability (one head shot kills, for example). The only aspect of the game I found annoying was the inability to pre select tasks for the group members you don't control. As you can only carry out the actions of one member at a time, switching between characters is a little frustrating, and those not under your control tend to act of their own accord during the mission, if they are in the midst of the action. Hidden & Dangerous was better from the point of view of being able to "send" other team members to specific areas, whilst you carried on with one, but this is still very enjoyable.
Fans of this type of game will certainly feel that it is money well spent, and the game does keep your attention for many mnay hours (as long as you don't cheat). Definite two thumbs up!

Choppy-But Good

If you like Medal of Honnor, but don't want to give them all your money, then get Deadly Dozen. Deadly Dozen is very similar; it's just as fun, and cheaper. They only problem I found was that it was very choppy, especially during times when I was getting in and out of vehicles. If your system isn't very good, (at least Windows 98, 127 ram, 750 gigahertz, 32-64 meg video card) then it will crash, and loading will take half an hour if it works at all.

Could be real fun

if it weren't for my ...computer. What little it did play was alot of fun, except when you meet the enemy and the movements get very choppy and if you are armed with an automatic weapon, it will not fire, and all the while YOU are getting blasted. After all the trouble of completing the mission, you try to escape and the game crashes. I have spent a small fortune upgrading my pc (for other reasons) and to have this happen tends to put me off. Infogrames acknowledges some problems along this line. Guess I'll just store this away untill I get a new system, then maybe a better review.

This is a terrific game with one glitch after about the 5th try to play the game the screen would go black and i would have to press ctrl alt delete and that screws up the pc i have a good new computer but this game simply will not run. IF it did load it was a great game. I have no idea what those other people who said things about "gray sillouhets" are talking about all they had to do was turn off the fog button.

Well, my father was in WW2. He watched me play it and said this was realistic. You see trees move and sway. You can hide behind walls and stuff and shoot those Nazis.

I bought this game last year when it came out. But due to my junky computer I couldnt play it, so I abondoned it and it sat in my game pile for a year until, I decided to install it on my xp system, it worked fine and the gameplay and graphics are great, it had no lag or freezes and i loved it from start to finish. There is a d-day mission that kicks [heiny], and an Africa and Remagan mission, the weapon selection is very small but the weapons available get the job done, the game is very difficult; i spent all day from morning until 8 at night playing it and i beat it, and went back and played a few other missions for fun. The vehichles add greatly to the gameplay and make it much more fun. Although my major gripes are that there should be more Americans fighting along side you and around you during the more large scale missions, and lastly the Germans simply wont go down, i fired an Mp40 into the chest of a nazi at less than three feet away and lost a whole clip before he rolled over and died finnaly. Overall this game is really good if your sick of the all first person no strategy of medal of honor which is still great. Or if you want a solid time consuming weekend killer. This game is low priced and although there is no blood or gore it is great and I recommend it to anyone who wants to kill nazis and not lose 5o bucks doing it.

Well worth [the money spent]!

I played the demo, liked it and then bought the game! A good fun game with very few bugs. Frustrating at times, but if one way won't work - try another! Very open ended for gameplay strategy. Can't wait for the follow-on, "Deadly Dozen: Pacific Theater"!!

A great game actually

Granted, it does crash and freeze, but if you can get it to work, it's a great game. The music is very well done. It really adds to the already great atmosphere. It's much better than other first person, secret mission WWII games. Other games, like Elite Forces WWII Normandy use strange maze like terrain to guide the gamer and give the germans scary, monster faces. In this game, the terrain is as it would really be. An open area with roads and fields. Another perk is that this game has story (unlike WWII Normandy) but it isn't silly or unrealistic, and doesn't involve the occult or monsters like Wolfennstein, etc. It's nice to have a realistic first person WWII game. You get tired of overhead "select a bunch of guys and move 'em over there" games.
