Pac Man eats on

"Pac Man" was one of the first games that I got for the Game Boy. Like most Pac Man games, it's a good one. It's pretty much the classic Pac Man game with all the classic gameplay and sounds from the arcade. But it has an added feature that makes it even better. You can play it where it shows the game in a close-up view while the screen moves according to where you guide Pac Man on the screen. Or you can put it in 1/4 size mode where it shows the whole screen and makes it more like the original.

If you like Pac Man games and still have the original Game Boy, "Pac Man" would be a good game to get.

What a Classic

This is a great game for anyone. Ever see one of these games in an old pizza place or something like that? This cartridge lets you play it portabley. You can make the screen like the arcade style games, with the whole area shown on the screen, or you can have 1/4 of the area on the screen at once. This game is such a classic, it should keep you busy for a very long time, whether sitting on your bed or sitting in a car.

Good game - but this isn't the system for it

Pac-Man. No one can deny that this game is one of the greatest video games of all time, perhaps due to the fact that it is so involving and addictive, yet extremely easy to learn. Needless to say the game has been ported to a plethora of home consoles. One of the first was this version for the original Game Boy. Read on for my review of the game.

THE GOOD:
-Finally, a portable version of the game!
-With the exception of the graphics, the game is an exact reproduction of the arcade original.
-The two-player mode is nice.

THE BAD:
-You have two choices of how to play the game. You can play a zoomed-in mode, where everything is more detailed but you see less of the screen, or you can play a full-screen mode like the arcade classic, but the detail is pitiful. THIS is why Pac-Man fails as a portable game.

OVERALL:
-Get a consular version of the game instead. As good an idea as making Pac-Man portable may have sounded, it's just not possible to pull it off well.
