It's the best!

Tetris is the best! Once you start playing you just can't put your gameboy down. Me, who's 9, my brothers who are 19 and 20, my sister who is 23 and my mom who is 38 are all in love with tetris. My guess is that 7 year olds to adult will enjoy tetris. I can't think of one thing that I don't like about tetris. You just have to buy it.

TETRIS

Was introduced to Tetris in 1992 by my daughter and grandson. I quickly became addicted, so much so that I raced out and bought Tetris 2, Tetris Blast and Tetris Attack. While I love all of them my very favorite is Tetris2. As a senior citizen who hates to make decisions I find that this game keeps my reflexes and mental processes sharp by forcing me to make quick decisions and it increases and strengthens the flexibility in my hands. I am never bored waiting in long lines, a doctor's office or on long trips. The only times I DON'T play are when I am driving or online.

The game that started the puzzle craze

Back when the Game Boy was first introduced, Nintendo had foughten a war to achieve the rights to this game from its Russian Developer. Eventually Nintendo succeeded and this game was the result. Either you love Tetris or you hate it. The game is simplistic in origin, allign a continuous series of falling blocks into horizontal rows. Once in rows, the blocks clear, give you points, and eventually the speed of the falling will increase. Like I said, simple but ingenious. This game is a staple of the video game industry. Also like I said, you either love this game, or you despise it. For those of you who enjoy puzzle games, or for those of you who are patient and like games that test reflexes and brain power, there is no better game than Tetris. If you're an action fan, you'd better look somewhere else fast.

Tetris is one of those games that you can get hooked on. This version for Game Boy is one of the best. The only con about this version though is you can't save your game. Besides that, it's great.

I have by accident TWO copies of this original game, one I paid
for and other was later a gift.

This is a "never-ending" game which I have derived much pleasure
using. It never ceases to amaze me and I play it often.

I have other tetris games for other platforms, but I still come
back to this one game. I love it!!!!

The play is excellent and always offers even a seasoned player
multiple opportunities. I hate to admit it but I'm over 60! If you have it already keep it, if not then BUY one!

puzzle games don't get any better

It's amazing only one other person has bothered writing a review for Tetris, quite possibly the best game of all-time (and *clearly* the best puzzle game of all-time).

Well, I don't feel comfortable seeing just ONE other review. Come on people, some of you older folks who grew up with the Game Boy remember Tetris. EVERYONE who owned a Game Boy had this game (because it came with the system, and even if Tetris didn't come with the system, you had the game anyway!)

Well, what else can be said about Tetris? It's been said a million times how addicting it is. You just sit there addictingly pushing down on the button, and eliminating a row of blocks. You want to do it over and over and over. It's so much fun that... that... that it REALLY amazes me only one other person bothered sending in a review. Tetris was popular on the NES but I thought for sure the Game Boy version made it the all-time classic it deserves to be.

A Classic Everyone Should Play

I can't believe there are no reviews written on what many would consider the greatest puzzle game of all time.

As anyone who has ever played the game knows Tetris is an easy game to learn but tough to master. In short different shaped blocks (each with 4 sections) fall from the sky. You must rotate those blocks to form complete lines which then dissolve scoring you points.

As you progress through the levels the speed of the decent increases and Tetris truely becomes a game requiring split second decisions and amazing reflexes to prevent your pile of blocks from reaching the top of the screen, which ends the game.

While the game is an obvious classic, and pureists without a doubt will want to play the original i would recommend getting tetris dx (probably the best port of Tetris ever made) or tetris worlds. (personally i find tetris alot more entertaining on a portable)

If you love tetris but want something a little different the more contemporary games also include many fun variations such as 2 player tetris and the completly unique but also fun Tetris Attack.

Trust me, you can't go wrong with tetris if you enjoy a challenge.

The good old times..

I remember finding this game laying by a bus stop on the sidewalk when I was around 10 or so. It didn't have a cover or anything, I guess it'd been scratched off. I didn't own a Gameboy either, so I took it to my friend who owned one, turned it on, and it was Tetris. I got a Gameboy maybe two weeks after that, and I played my free Tetris almost non-stop.

I'm 25 years old now, and I own Tetris DS, so yeah..still a fan even to this day. I'd recommend this original version ONLY if you're a retro game collector, anybody else should shoot for the DS version, or even the GBA versions. Either way, GREAT classic game!

If you've ever played the original NES version, you basicly already know what to expect. However, the tip to gain an instant tetris with the fall of the first block, provided by a number of game tip sources, doesn't work with this Game Boy version. You will therefore find the one player game to be the same as the original version. Yes, you read right, I said "the one player game". This is because the Game Boy version also has a two player version, which you will find to be kind of a combination of Tetris, and Dr Mario. There is, however one disadvantage to the two player game. This is due to the fact that in order to play the two player game, you will need the following items: a second Game Boy, a second copy of the game, and a link cable. Beond this disadvantage, if you want to exercise your brain's puzzle solving skills, you'll find this game to be a good start.

Addictive!

I have been playing this game for years, and have always found it additive and fun. There are different ways to play and it is fun trying to beat your record. this is a game that you can relax with if you enjoy strategy games! I recommend it and the new editions!
