Another great entry for Half Life, as the security guard. But this game was short and I beat it in 2 days...I have NEVER beaten a game in 2 days. Still very good, just not very long.

I Think this game is cool!The sercurity guards are funny and the game has really good graphics some people think it stinks.THe only part bad about it was its kind of short but I think you should buy it!

Would be five stars if it offered anything new!

Blue shift is a fun game, especially if you thought Half life was a little on the long side. The upside is that you get to explore more areas of black Mesa facility, and the XEN part is mercifully short.

However, Blue shift is not much more than halflife with different levels, and the crossovers with the main plot do not come often enough. Another disappointment is that there are very few fellow security guards. The ones that are there are dead, inaccessible or mortally wounded.

Overall, this is a fun game, but I suspect that valve are running out of ideas. Having said that, I'll be waiting with bated breath for half-life 2!

This game was great and kept me interested the whole....2 hours that it took for me to beat it. It was really awsome, but really short. But the fact that it's standalone and comes with op4 helped alot.

Fist, I want to say I did not think Blue Shift too short. Very intense, yes. To those who said it is too short, I say, turn off the cheats and try it. Having once been cop and a security guard, the game had a special appeal for me. Enjoyed it much more than the other versions of Half Life. I liked putting the 357 into a grunts face and pulling the trigger. Nice graphics. Only wish they had a 44 magnum in the game. Was nice to 'turn the tables'. I liked being a 'hero' to the sceintists for a change. If you liked Half Life, this is a must have, for it is another point of view of the game.

I was expecting more.

Let me start by saying this game is a poor follow up to the Half life series. The first evening I played this game I thought it was great. The action starts right away with you shooting away at aliens, and I couldn't stop thinking about what kind of crazy twist in the plot or big boss I would face at the end. The next evening I beat the game after about 5 or 6 wimpy levels compared to the 14 or 15 levels in Half Life and 10 or 11 levels in Opposing Force. It only took me about 4 or 5 hours to beat the game. It took me 8 or 9 to beat HL and OF. I felt kind of ripped off. And even worse, there was no big boss and the end or any kind of twist in the plot, it hardly even had a plot. Which is mainly why the first two were so good. When I neared the end of the game, I figured I was about half way through the game, and it ended just like that. When I did beat it, I had seen the worst ending that has ever been put in a game. The rest of the game focused almost completly on the soldiers and almost zero aliens. I must admit I was left breathless on the biggest of the many firefights I had with the soldiers. The game has lots of action and good graphics thanks to the High Def Pack, but it was left empty were the other 2 games were full of plot and actual endings. There wern't even any secrets to be found in the game like the previous two. The only reason I give it 3 stars is because of the action and graphics, but those aren't enough on their own. I still suggest you buy this game, but only for fans of Half Life and when the price drops... If you haven't played the original game, buy that first.

I was disappointed in Blue Shift due to fact it was VERY short. If this was longer, and harder to complete, I would be more content.

Half-Life realy is a game that combines the thrill of 3D shooting with the best interactive characters. Gordon Freeman rules, and I think that Lara Croft have much to learn from him.

The Half-Life series is, without a doubt, the most fun I have ever had with a computer game. The game's sound effects and graphics are incredibly realistic, and make you feel as though you are in the game yourself!! As you round a corner, three aliens rush toward you, and you nearly jump out of your skin. The aliens look so...alien...and they move like they are alive! Blue Shift makes the whole Half-Life experience even better, with new enemies, new friends, and new areas to explore. Best of all, it's even more frightening than the original. An added bonus is the HD pack, which, when installed, upgrades the weapons and characters of all the games in the Half-Life series. If you haven't played any of the Half-Life games before, I recommend trying the original Half-Life first, which won the Game of the Year award in 2000. However, if you are familar with Half-Life, purchase Blue Shift ASAP.

This is a ...great game and everyone out there who likes a decent tactical game, but one that has loads-a-killing in it. You are a security guard called Barney and you have to go and kill all the aliens. You also go to alien planets which will test you! If you have played any of the Half Life games before, you will love this game. Even if you do not have any other Half Life s you can still install this game, but if you want the High Definition Pack (- this is with better & extra weapons) install Blueshift and then the high definition pack.
WAt i am trying to say is that it is well worth dishing out the ...($$) because it is such a good game.....
