If you learn the new controls, it's really fun!

I was looking at the reviews, and most of the reveiwer complaints are that it won't work on their computer. However, it clearly lists that the game only works on WINDOWS XP, WINDOWS 2000 and WINDOWS 1998. If you have one of those three computers, I strongly suggest this game. It is so good because the graphics are the best ever and so is the music. Another reason is that they always give directions when you need it. Even though the controls are a bit different than the first three games, once you get the hang of it the game is even better than the first three. If you don't like the first set of controls, you can always change them before you start your game. Even though the castle grounds and the castle itself are so big, if you get lost you can always press the TAB button to go to the Marauders Map. Once you open the Marauders Map, you can press the right arrow key to bring up people that you have to find to complete the task that you started. If you press the left arrow key, you will find a list of all the places in Hogwarts. To go to a place or person on the Marauders Map you select the place or person and press enter. Not only does it tell you where they are, it also shows you how to get there by showing a path of footprints in front of your character (instead of on the map). Another great thing about this game is that when you finish you can play again at a harder level, unlike the other games. If you play well, you can unlock scenes and pictures from the movie and you can see what the actors and the director have to say about the game. You can't play as Hermione and Ron, like in the third game, but they make it up by allowing you to play as Fred and George Weasley, Sirius Black and Dumbledore. I gave this outrageously fun game an overall FIVE star because all of the great things I have just listed. This review was by a 13 year old.

This game is the best so far!

Ive had this game for about 6 hours now and I am loving it. Ive seen some people whining about not being able to configure the controls. Its to help maintain some kind of uniformity from one platform to the next. Ive found the controls are very well placed and respond well even with a dual analog game pad. The graphics are very well done and it has very helpful directions that seem to pop up at just the right time. Also the proper spells and motions for them I thought were very well chosen. I would say to anyone its definitely worth spending your hard earned money on. I am sure there are some who will disagree with me, but you can't expect this game to be the next HALO. Fantastic game most will enjoy it!!!!!

NOW THIS IS MORE LIKE THE HARRY POTTER GAMES OF OLD. THE GOBLET OF FIRE WAS SUCH A LET DOWN BUT NOW WARNER BROTHERS HAVE OUT DONE THEMSELVES WITH THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX. JUST WISH THEY COULD GO BACK AND REDO THE GOBLET OF FIRE WITH THE SAME FORMAT.
THIS NEW ORDER OF THE PHOENIX IS THE BEST EVER. THERE ARE MORE HOURS OF FUN HER THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE. ONCE YOU GO THROUGH THE WHOLE GAME ONE TIME YOU ARE READY TO START A NEW GAME ALL OVER.

SUBERB, EXCELLENT ON ALL COUNTS.

This game is great. the only draw back is not being able to use your mouse to move like in the other Harry Potter games. you have to use the keyboard. Maybe for you young players this is ok but im 60 and it makes it a little diffacult for me. But the game is great and has good graphics. Im sure you will have many hours of fun. GOOD LUCK!

The graphics are great; you can go just about anywhere and get rewarded for it. Possibly the best thing for me is being able to use the Maurader's Map to plot where to go. By doing this, you get little feet on the ground that you follow. This way, you can play around and investigate different parts of Hogwarts & the grounds and the feet will still point you in the correct direction to where you originally wanted to go. GREAT improvement for those of us who are a bit forgetful. On the negative side, it seems like you have less control over objects that you move around with Wingardium Leviosa, but maybe I'm just a dork and don't have the "magic" touch.

Most Magical Harry Potter game yet!

This is an excellent game. The graphics are stunning, gameplay is fun, and having some of the actors from the movie voice the characters is so cool. The game has three levels of difficulty, which the previous games didn't have, a new way to cast spells, using the keyboard instead of the mouse, which i find much easier and more realistic, and many more locations. Figuring out how to move around is a little tricky at first, but you get used to it. The new camera angles, although not always on Harry's back, allow you to see more of the scenery around you. There is much more to explore in this game, and the more you discover, the more you get rewarded. It follows the storyline of the film, so the new stuff, like the D.A., the battle at the Ministry, and Grimmauld Place are all there. There are also side quests, like getting portrait passwords, playing Wizard Chess, Gobstones, and Exploding Snap, or getting books from the library to finish an essay for a teacher. You're not forced to do classes either, which makes the game much easier to play than the first three. Although you can't play as Ron or Hermione, during the battle, you play as Dumbledore and Sirius Black. You can also use the Invisibility Cloak, which is perfect for sneaking around, and the new Marauder's Map feature is really handy if you get lost, or can't find a certain character. There are loads of new spells, and the frequent battles between the Slytherins keep up the action. This game is much less Video-Gamey then the others and more like actually being at Hogwarts. Overall this is a great game, and certainly the best of all the Harry Potter games. It ended up being much more than I expected.

The folks at EA have done it again, only better this time. OOPX excells at keeping the player involved. Amazing graphical interpretaion of Hogwarts, inside and out.. and all true to the world I might add gives the player the sense that s/he has been sucked into the Wizarding World. Wand-weaving spells, puzzles, mini-games, talking portraits, thestrals, and a storyline that adapts to your choices of what to do first. The interaction between Harry, Ron and Hermione tops all! Not too hard for youngsters, but captivating even for adults who love HP, this game kept me engaged for hours!

I have always been a real fan of Harry Potter and the books and movies. So when the latest movie came out I thought I would love to play the computer game. And I have played it many times and I love the easy instructions and the graphics and of course I love the music as well.
