Enough to give you a headache!

At first glance, Totally Angelica seems like a great game. First of all, the graphics are great, the colors in the game are vibrant and the characters are all detalied except Susie who looks like an adult instead of a 4 year old. The game consists of Angelica walking around a mall earning clothers, jewelry and make-up to go to the fashion show and then once she earns enough points from the show she moves onto the next level of the mall. The mall has 5 levels. The problem is that Angelica must go into shops to earn the prizes she needs for the fashion show. When you go into a shop you play a mini game such as card flipping, a "Simon" memory game or a puzzle shuffle. There are only six of these games and they start to get very tiring and tedious after a while. For example, the pinball maze takes about 3 1/2 minutes to complete and you might have to do the same maze over and over again three times in a row to earn the prizes you need to advance to the next level. It can take a long time to get from mall level to mall level which can be very fusturating especially for the game's target age group. And since the developers of the game decided not to include a battery back up save like in Mario Brothers Deluxe where you just can save anytime you like, you have to write down your password when you want to save your game. This is the BIGGEST problem of the game. The password can be over 25 letters, symbols and numbers. To have to re-enter your password when you want to play again is very annoying. Not only is the password way too long but some letters and numbers have to have red boxes around them when you enter them. Only, sometimes the game won't let you put the red box around the letter or number in the password screen meaning the password you are given is useless. It is obvious this game was rushed to stores and was completed as fast as possible. If the developers at THQ would have added many more mini games and a battery save feature this game would have been a lot more enjoyable. Despite all of these problems, the game will still be enjoyable to whoever plays it. However, the parent or whoever has to deal with the sloppy password system will become fusturated very easily. You have to ask yourself, is it worth buying this game if the child has some fun with it even though I will become very irritated at the game's format? If you think you can handle the game's problems then it's a worth purchase. But don't be surprised when you feel like yanking that cartridge out of the system and stomping on it when you are trying to enter a password or complete "Fluffy's Pinball Maze" for the 10th time in a row because your child has become sick of playing the same game over and over in order to advance to the next level.

CUTE, BUT HARD

MY DAUGHTER (WHO IS 5) WILL BE GETTING A GAMEBOY FOR XMAS AND I DECIDED TO TRY ALL OF THE GAMES MYSELF SO I CAN SEE IF SHE WILL LIKE THEM AND IF THEY ARE TOO HARD. THIS GAME IS DEFINITLY NOT FOR 5 YEAR OLDS. THE PASSWORDS ARE WAY TO HARD AND LONG TO ENTER, EVEN FOR AN ADULT. YOU SPEND MORE TIME PUTTING IN THE PASSWORD SOMTIME THAN YOU DO PLAYING THE GAME. THE COMPANIES THAT MAKE THESE GAMES SHOULD CONSIDER THE AMOUNT OF DIFFICULTY FOR A CHILD TO WRITE DOWN THE EXACT PASSWORD AND THEN INPUT IT BACK IN. THIS GAME HAS ALL TYPES OF ICONS FOR THE PASSWORD (LIKE HEARTS, SHOPPING CARTS, AND MANY OTHER PICTURE ICONS, NUMBERS & LETTERS) I COULD NOT EVEN PUT MY PASSWORD BACK IN AND I AM AN ADULT! MAYBE THE OLDER (10-12) GIRLS WOULD ENJOY THIS GAME?? IF THEY COULD FIGURE OUT THEIR PASSWORDS........

This game is very good for all ages. You can buy clothes by winning small games. You can earn points by impressing the judges at the fasion show. When you have enough points then you can go to the next level where a few new games await you. It is fun and exiting. You can mix and match several different clothes and make up. You can make Angelica pretty or ugly with WILD hairdos. Have fun with this wonderful game.

I think this is the most FABULOUS game. I love the way you can choose your games and it isnt always the same games as you always get to go onto different level with some different games. I also like the way you dont have to stay on the same level and can always go down a level that you have already passed and play those games and earn points if you dont understand the games that you are really on.

I am six years old (okay, my mom is typing this for me). My mommy bought Totally Angelica as my first game for my new gameboy. I cried so much because it is just too hard. Even mommy took awhile figuring it out and she thinks it's boring too. It's not even that much fun. You have to do the same things over and over again and it's boring. On my daddy's old gameboy, I played Mario and it was so much fun and you get to do all different things and I am never bored. Totally Angelica is horrible. I want to take it back and buy Mario or even Winnie Pooh. I hope nobody else will cry like me. Take my word for it, it's really, really yucky.

I purchased this software for my 5 year old who just loves the
rugrats - she never misses a show. Anyhow, when she first played with the cd she would not let me help her and she really loved it and i just sat there for a while with in case she needed help, but she she did not. The cd is fun, has cool music your child can create on their own, musical videos along w/ Angelica dancing to some cool and hip music, etc. Overall, I rated it a 4 because after a while ( about 4-6 weeks) my daughter wanted to play with other cds. I just think they could have added some other activites.

I only play this game when I have at the least, 2 hours. Since it's a pain to save the game I don't. It's easy until you hit the Phil's fastion and floor number 5. I took me 45 minuts to get there and 45 playing Phil's Fation and not winning. Thats why you need a while that you don't have to stop. I highly reccoment it.

Not age appropriate

I feel this game is a little complex for young children. I do not feel that "Cynhia's Shuffle Puzzle" a mini-game is appropriate for children. The children get frustrated and don't want to play the game.

Review from a parent!

My daughter is 6 and enjoyed playing this game, however, anytime she wanted to turn it off we had to write down the lengthy code and then type it back in when she wanted to get back to her last level. This is a definate problem for parents because the code contains hyroglyphics, numerals and letters...trust me, it would sometimes take me 5 minutes to input the code. Also, you have to keep a new code everytime she gets new points and the code changes completely. Much wasted time for the parent and child!!!!

This game gets very boring playing the games over & over to advance to the next level. The passwords don't work as it says it will on page 30 of the instruction booklet that comes with the game. I am a 12 year old game player & the passwords for this game are very frusturating.Save your money & buy something else.
