I really enjoyed this game very much. Anyone who says otherwise should not even own a 360, this is a must have for your 360, my friend and I would play it for over 10 hours at a time on more than one ocasion, so if that don't tell what you need to know then sorry. Thanks bye :)

The Greatest Game Ever...

If you have a life, a job, a basic need to eat and sleep, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.
But do not confuse this with negative feedback. This game is so very addictive that I was on the verge of tears when it was taken away from me. I am bent on getting it back. I spent 55 hours playing and have done less then 1/3 the main quest. Buy the guide, and you will see why. The sidequests are numerous, with four factions, an arena, several dozen misc. quests, and freeform quests (no rewards except monster loot) galore! And the main quest itself is rich and full, with a wonderful plot and a great story line. The graphics are BEAUTIFUL. I do not have HDTV and this is still the best looking game I've ever seen. So wether you have HDTV or not, get this.
All in all, this game is complete, rich, full, and beautiful. Immerse yourself in the world of Tamriel, in the province of Cyrodill, close shut the jaws of Oblivion, and save the world. And if you want, become an insane warrior, mage, thief, murderer, or all four while your at it.

Don't Bother with Xbox360 Version

I'll admit, right off the bat, that this game does indeed have beautiful graphics. Also, since I'm a fan of this series since the first installment, the game itself is pretty cool. Now, here are the problems with the Xbox 360 version. Load times are extremely long, whether you are loading a save game or starting a new game, expect to see the 360 screen saver pop up or your controller turn off due to the amount of time passing by. Also, looting a corpse, examining a chest, or even going into your inventory, will cause the game to take a very long time to load (if it doesn't just freeze altogether). So if you enjoy sitting around for 10+ minutes whenever you try to do anything, then go ahead and buy this piece of garbage. Or, if you have a decent PC, buy the PC version instead plus the expansions (downloadable content). With the PC version it is just as pretty but without all the ridiculous bugs. After working 5+ years in the video game industry as a quality assurance supervisor, I can't believe how or why the Xbox 360 version was even released. It's utter crap.

FOR KAVATCH!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, it's WEASEL OF ROME, here! This game is awesome. There are an endless number of factions, side quests, and sweet, sweet, graphics. I personally like to hang out in the Imperial City and not do any quests.
A. because 1 of my like 10 jobs is there (my gladiator job)
and B. because EVERYTHING is there! it is soooo cool
Another thing i like 2 do is the Brotherhood of Darkness contracts. If you kill an innocent person, a man named Lucius (who will probably kill me because i said 2 much) comes to u in ur sleep and recruits you for a secret league of assassins known as wait for it........THE BROTHERHOOD OF DARKNESS (da dum)!!!!! There's 1 tiny problem i had with the game, which is that the game is slow and tedious if u don't use the travel feature on your map! It took me like 3 hours riding on horseback to Kavatch and then i fell through a glitch and couldn't escape, so I HAD TO START OVER!!!! The game is also boring until you reach the city of Kavatch, then it ROCKS!!!! If you have any trouble, consult gamertag: solidus 1991 and he will help you BIG TIME!!!!! I hope you like this realistic, living, breathing enviornmen as much as i did! As a last word of advice to my friends who watch FullMetal Alchemist, DO NOT CHOOSE ALCHEMY AS A MAJOR SKILL, U WILL THANK ME 4 IT LATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do not buy!

1) Graphics are too realistic. Ruins the idea of fantasy.
2) NPCs personalities are all the same.
3) Repetitive hack and slash game.
4) Ridiculous background music.
5) Poor main storyline.
6) Too many bugs, especially for the various Great Houses and factions.
7) It felt a little too real-life medieval rather than a fun game.
8) Lame in-game jokes. Eg: M'aiq the Liar.
9) The ending of the main storyline, Great House, all guides and factions, are all extremely poor.

If it was like Kotor I a bit, or Neverwinter Nights series in companion interaction, then it would be much better. I find this game a little too open ended and didn't have a pulling effect into the main storyline as many other games are capable of doing.

I've also tried Shivering Isle. It didn't add much to Oblivion. I regret purchasing Oblivion.

More like 10 stars....Best Video Game of All Time!

$60 is too low, this game is worth a $1,000! The is the best video game of all time. You can create a whole new life in a Lord of The Rings- esque fantasy world. Itr is just so amazing! Buy a 360 for one of these! I could go on all day listing it's endless reasons for greatness, but I won't. Instead I offer this comparison.

These Games:
Halo 2
Gears of War
Final fantasy
God of War

-Are like the "That's so Raven" videogame compared to Oblivion!

IT's NOT JUST A GAME....IT's A LIFESTYLE!

Great to rent, but please read before buying:

I'm not really that great at hooking introductions so i'm just going to skip it and break down the game like this:

GRAPHICS: The graphics for Oblivion are superb. (At least on the xbox 360) The wilderness contain many types of grasses, plants, animals, beasts and all are created beautifully. They are also very detailed and particular. When I was fighting a wolf, I could see the thigh bone on both sides of it as i was fighting and as it fell down the hill the skin, bones, and fur move accordingly. While the grasses and plants don't move too much as you walk through them every blade is drawn to perfection. As the time of day changed so did the sky. (And no immediate changes either, they were all gradual - a plus) First the bright sun, then the orange and pink sky of the sunset, then finally the black night with each star perfectly place. The armor and weapons are very detailed and move at the speed thye look they would. Graphics: 5 out of 5

VOICE ACTING: This game surprised me with it's voice acting. I thought it'd be like every other game I've played and the voice acting would be really, really, really bad. Not the case. The voice acting is very well done, tones very based on the characters mood, certain words are enuciated as they should be and if the character has a slur or a lisp it stays throughout the conversation. Voice acting: 5 out of 5

GAMEPLAY: Now, the gameplay is a little different and takes some getting used to. When you start, your left to figure out how to move, interact, jump, and attack by yourself. Though the later explaination of spells and skills is helpfull the "do it yourself learning" in the beginning was somewhat annoying.
Once you finish the tutorial you're thrown out into this gigantic world with nothing but your weapon and spells. This is hard for even experienced players such as myself. I spent 2 days (earth days) running around (in what i now know were circles) looking for the next place I needed to go.
The menu is a small pain to work with as well. There are around 14 different menu screens you can look through. 5 are quests and maps, 5 are magic and spells, 5 are equipment and 4 are level up status and skills. The only way to truly master the menu screen is to play for long periods of time. My last complaint is that most sidequests can only be done by talking to virtually everyone in the city. If these quests are not done, you will find yourself to be too low of a level to sucessfully complete the main quest.
Now, the more uplifting news. Battle is exciting and unique. You can move around while attacking your opponet with swords, axes, daggers, bow and arrow, or magic. In order to grow a level you must level up your 7 main skills. (leveling up earns you more health, magicka- magic, and fatigue energy) The spells are well designed and can do a large amount of damage. Also, different skills have bonuse side effects once you become better at them. Unfortuantly the only good way to train and get armor is to attack guards and at some point or another you have to chocie but to surrender and be sent to jail. (which lowers skills).

Gameplay: 3.5 (4 after experienced) out of 5
Overall I'd recommend the game for playing, but only if you have the paitence and 5-7 hours to kill.

yes Fable did it better but its still a good buy

I agree after Fable its hard to enjoy any of these games, if i hadnt read the review below i would have given it 5 stars, its a great buy but i would wait till it hits 29.99 or 39.99 if your a die hard fan, theirs so much to explore and not enough time in the day to do so, overall i like it because its just different from the other games on 360, but Fable is ten times better in game play, thats my opinion

Best Game For the 360

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 1 / 4

First iff let me start offf saying I'm not a big fan of RPGs. But this has to be the best game ever made even Better than the Halo series. This has to be the be RPG ever made.

The graphics are outstanding best graphics right now too for the 360. Story is great. The game play is great (1st or 3rd person). What is most amazing about this game is the landscape. You can never explore the the entire map its impossible the whole world is extremely Large.

There are many places to adventure in this game, caves which go very deep, forest, lakes, rivers, streams, ruins, mines, forts, towns cities, inns, guilds chapels, stores, houses Barracks, guard towers, The Dreaded Oblivion gates and much more.

You can also join the arena in Imperial City which is similar to the roman collisium. In the arena you will Challenge your Skills against other warrior than eventually strong creatures.

The Mages guild is a group of mages (wizards, warlocks, witshes, you get the point) In this guild you will have to run task for each head of each guild in every thats right every town in order to gain entrance to the mages guild and the arcane univetsity. Ant thes task are not like ok go kill this guy and heres my reward. Some of these task take acouple of hours. But the grueling task make it worth while becuse for every task you are reward with an item or gold.

The fighters guild is another group except it consist of warriors. In this group you must also run task but they are a little more difficult but its worth it because not only are you rewarded but while on missions for this guild you will discover many weapons that you should use because they are probably the best in the game my favorite is the SIN WEAVER its a long sword that does lots of damage.

THe Dark Brotherhood is a group of assains. In order to find otu about you must kill an innocent civilian. Or you will never discover it ince you kill te civilian go and sleep and they will contact you.trust me a smalll jail fine for killing a civilian is worth it to join the dark brotherhood.

Then you will be offered to become a vampire i sugjest that you don't because it will just inconvenece you with having to go sneek into to someones house and risk being arrestted just so you can drink there blood so you can go out during the day. Trust me not worth it.

Then theres the theives guild which is a group of thieves what a surprise any way this guild carries alot of risk becuse trust me you will be jailed (ALOT) So be careful

And now on to the oblivion gates I personally dont likem because they are a major main in my.. welll you know. these gates are just protals to another world which most of the time is difficult to navagate. the oblivion gate to me are portals to hell. I avoid them but hey thats my opinon.

I have to warn you this is a VERY VERY addicting. One of my firends got so addicted to this game that he quit is part time job(I know crazy) but thats what this game is crazy. At first i did not care much for it but then all I can think about is playing this game. You don't even have to focus on the main quest you can do so many side quest its rediculous. You can also join guilds which are grops like mages, fighters, theives, vampires and many more (You should join all of them for Game score points)You can also go hunting for deer on your free time to with the Bow. The world in this game though is just increadible. There are so many people in this game you will
probably fell like this is a real world Some times i wish i lived in the world of this game.

SO Plese get this game and dont make your self look like a fool. Like NIKE's (Just do it- alrights reserved)
Just get it!

Another thing i l Im going to end this summary with this because i could go on forever about this game so listen!! DO NOT i repeat DO NOT GET THIS FOR PC GET IT FOR THE XBOX360. THIS GAME IS TO GOOD FOR THE PC. SO GET IT FOR THE 360. So buy this now!. I have to go play it now. Happy gaming! :) Thats Addicted gameing:)

I loved oblivion while I played it. But, it is way to long. It ruined my life. I didn't eat, I didn't hang with my friends, and I didn't sleep. This game is addictive. A few days ago I was 150 hours in and I deleted my file. I was so proud. Now I'm free. This game is perfect for those with no friends and life. It started to get repetitive, but I still played for countless hours a day.
