GREAT FUN with this POORLY RENDERED game

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 20 / 21

The title says it all. Go around and bust up stuff.

I have an 8-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son, and they both love this game. I like it pretty good, too.

LACK OF STORY? No big deal. The real fun for these kiddies is running around and smashing stuff. (Although, the 5-year-old prefers to stay in the training ground, where he can smash stuff without police shooting guns and missiles at him).

MINI-GAMES. Inside the game are various "sub-missions," which are mini-games to play in order to earn points. They are separate from the main "plot" of saving Dr. Banner or getting the bad guy. These missions are fun (carry as many cars as possible to the top of a building within a specified time), sometimes silly (hold an inflated balloon character - thing Pillsbury Doughboy/Michelin Man - above your head, jump off a building, and hang-glide to a circle of flares), and sometimes nerve bending (protect a building from marauding tanks for two minutes).

FUN, SILLY FUN: The best way to summarize this game is to say that my kids were frequently laughing and giggling while playing this game. The violence is "cartoon violence," such as when Hulk can pick up a car, rip it in half, smash the halves into "steel boxing gloves," and then go around SUPER-smashing things with his "Steel Fists." Or, the soldiers' screams of "I can't feel my legs!" or "It's all over now!" when Hulk picks up a soldier and gets ready to smash, slam, or throw him. I am confident that most kids will understand that you're not supposed to do go around bustin' up stuff in real life the way Hulk does in this game.

WHO CARES ABOUT BAD GRAPHICS? The graphics are half-wit. Many objects are semi-transparent, in that you can see right through them. Also, many objects (including Hulkster himself) sometimes go right through other objects. For example, when running close to a building, you'll lose half of Hulk's body inside the wall, while the rest of him continues running down the sidewalk. Same with objects he is carrying. Another example: When fighting tanks, Hulk will sometimes pass right through them. But, if you are looking for a game that values fun over artistry (and my kids do), then it is a minor annoyance, and not much of a problem.

EASY TO LEARN TO PLAY. Perhaps the greatest thing about this game is its simplicity. Most commands are single-button commands, which means that little kids can do a decent job of executing the various moves. Try teaching a 5-year old how to press square-triangle-square, while holding down the R1 button, and you'll appreciate the "unsophistication" of this game.

Fun. Simple. Shallow. Entertaining.

Rid yourself of pent-up aggression...

Just pop this bad-boy in your PS2 console and go to town. Personally, I am the type of guy who doesn't bode well with intricate, drawn-out storylines in video games. I don't typically have the time to complete every mission and finish the game. This is where Hulk appeals to me. While it has a Grand Theft Auto-style, mission-based storyline, it's FREE-ROAMING environment makes it a blast to play. I enjoy roaming the various environments with no real strategy and wreaking as much havoc as I possibly can. I would recommend this game for the following reasons: 1) it has exceptional "replayability" value; 2) for those who enjoy a linear storyline with side missions, this game satisfies that qualm; 3) it is ever-so-similar to the Grand Theft Auto series, which I happen to love; 4) the graphics, particularly the destruction frames and explosions, are splendid; 5) there are a plethora of moves to be garnered and mastered, all adding significant value to the unique gameplay; 6) the audio/sound is gripping; and 7) it's just plain fun to be essentially invincible, ripping through town and causing pandemonium. I applaud Marvel and Sierra for developing a highly-addictive and entertaining game. Kudos, guys. I only wish I had this type of gameplay when I was growing up. Please feel free to disagree with my opinion; let us compare opinions, invite a few more points of view, and debate, like the humans we are.

OUTSTANDING!!

The easiest way I can describe this game is it is basically the Incredible Hulk's version of a family friendly Grand Theft Auto,(minus all the swearing, nudity, etc. that made the GTA games infamous), a bit of Need for Speed Underground in that you can complete missions and customize your Hulk's moves and attacks by adding more onto what he already knows, and a modernized version of the arcade classic Rampage all rolled into one.

I initially purchased this game for my nephew to play while he visits and being almost 30 years old myself I even have a blast playing it. Some of the moves do get a bit complex in that you have to combine various buttons to complete them, but if my 9 year old nephew can figure them out then I'm sure you will be able to also. =)

I have always been a role playing game fan myself and action based style games were never my thing, but after playing this game they will be in the future.

the title is perfect

Finally a hulk game that allows you to use the hulks abilities as they were meant to be used.Theis game allows you to destroy anything even a couple of buildings are destructable. The Hulk can take a car and make steel fist out of it or he can take a bus and make a surf board out of it.Note you just start off with basic moves. When you complete a chapter you get new ones to buy there are 150 in all.Even tanks are surfable. You won't start off with surf thou you have to buy it later in the game.Everything is you weapon poles, trees even circular gas station signs which can be bowled into cars, people etc and the explosions are very well rendered. You can choose to free roam and also do challenge missions or you can do story mode when you get ready too. Also you can jump between the city and the badlands.Hulk can also harm innocent civilins on the street. He can also put them down and pat them on the head or flick them which is funny. The bosses you will face or the Abomination,Mercy,Hulkbusters,Helicopters and Tanks. On a boss mission you might have 4 helicopters shooting missiles at you at once along with tanks and hulkbusters. There are also some interesting codes for this game that make it funner to play.

Note some of these codes can't be unlocked till you find the comic book covers there are 60.Some of them can be all the flag shorts can be entered in the code imput before you find the comics as well as smash 5,10,15 and others.

Savage Banner will be in the Moves shop to buy once you finish the game however he cost about 1 Million smash points to buy and for those of you that may not know he will be able to destroy everything like the hulk but will be much smaller.

The cheats once entered will stay there. You can just toggle between the characters you want to play Savage Hulk,America etc.

This game is so much better than the first hulk game for several reasons.

1)Everything in this game can be used as a weapon
2)Almost everything is destroyable
3)Hulk can weaponize cars
4)Hulk can run and walk up walls
5)Hulk gets to wear differnt kinds of shorts
6)You get to play as the Abomination and Savage Banner.
7)There are no normal Banner missions.
8)You can swing tanks around once you buy the move.
9)You can surf on busses and tanks.
10)You can catch missiles and throw them back at helicopters and tanks once you buy the move.

The producers and makers of the Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction said that people will determine if a new one gets made so please everyone that likes the hulk, comicbook games and action games buy this.

Other games I recommend are:
1)The Hulk-Even thou Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction is out now The Hulk game offers bosses that's not in the new one such as Madman,Ravage,Flux,The Leader,Halflife,Gamma Guards,Robots and Hulk Dogs and you can destroy some stuff in it as well.

2)Spiderman 2 The first comic book game that started free roam for comics and allows some great webslinging and fighting moves for Spiderman and even has a fight arena when you finish the game.

3)Batman Begins

4)Jaws Unleashed Coming Jan 1st for xbox,ps2 and pc.This game will allow you to play as the Great White Shark terrorising people, other sharks, killer whales etc.The game has 50 sea creatures ranging from the seahorse to the biggest whales. So far confirmed are Other Great Whites which you will fight with,Killer Whales,Giant Squids,Barracudas,Hammerhead Sharks,Blue Whales,Dolphins, and seahorses. No doubt there will be other killer sharks like the tiger and the bull and I'm hoping to see the Salt Water Crocodile as a boss. This game will be rated M for Mature due to blood, gore and graphic violence but it will still be a great game because it allows you to play as the white shark a first in the world of consoles. This game will even let you target which body part you take off at least 25 dismemorant enjine.I generally don't buy M rated games but will make an exception with this game. Also expect to see some references to the Jaws Movie in this game.

5)Star Wars Episode 3 Revenge Of The Sith

6)Ace Combat 5

7)Ace Combat 4

8)Ace Combat Zero The Belkin War Coming sometimes in the Summer or Fall of 2006.This is actually a prequel to Ace 5 which highlights the Belkin War the flying will be like Ace 5.If you like flight sim games this will be a good one to pick up.

Waaayyy better than the 1st!

this game kicks ass! it is so freakin fun, 1 of the best games ive ever played. u can roam the city n go almost anywhere, jump like a 100 feet across the air, pick up and throw or slam almost anything from people 2 helicopters 2 cows n tons more. u also can make and use weapons, like rippin a car in half and makin metal boxing gloves or usin missile ammo n launchin it w/ ur hands. u can run around hella fast and even run across mountains and up buildings. u also earn points which u can use to buy new moves and combos. this game isnt really hard, u can either play it on easy or normal. the graphics, sound, controls and gameplay are all great. just go buy the game already, its really worth it!

JUST ABOUT THE GREATEST SUPERHERO GAME EVER MADE.

When you look for a game, do you look for new releases, do you look for games that stand out above the rest, games you can play a billion times and never get bored of? Do you like GTA-like games where you can do whatever you want? Do you like to be able to destroy anything you see? Do you like the hulk? If you answered yes to all of these questions, then Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction is the game for you.

Perhaps the best aspect of the game is the freedom they give you. You can run up a building, jump hundreds of feet, make a shield out of a bus, rip a tree out of its roots to make a spear, destroy buildings, surf on a greyhound, rip a car in half and mold them around your hands(steel fists) to rip through a tank or just continue on with the storyline. But you don't have to.

The gameplay and freedom pretty much make up Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. Mediocre cutsceens, graphics, and sound make up the rest. This is definitely the best superhero game of the week. Heck, it's the best superhero game ever made.

As the big, green, wrecking machine you stomp around a city, destroying everything and completing missions in the hope of Bruce Banner FINALLY striking on the illusive cure for his curse.

Ultimate Destruction is fun! Absolutely anything is a target for the Hulk's insatiable thirst for carnage, from lampposts to skyscrapers. There's a fantastic array of upgrades to be added to the Hulk's arsenal that range from turning a car into a pair of boxing gloves to riding a bus like a skateboard and the enemies just keep getting bigger and bigger as the game progresses. Indeed, for your first hour of play, Ultimate Destruction seems like the most fun you've had with a computer game since Rampage first hit the Spectrum (or C64, for those who went that way).

Alas, there are only so many times you can bring down an attacking helecopter with an uprooted tree before the whole thing starts to get a bit samey. I never thought I'd tire of ripping the turret off a tank and battering a 60 ft mech with it, but I was wrong.

The problem with this game (aside from its lack of story) is there is so little variety. Yes, the list of upgrades is quite extensive, but once you've seen them all a couple of times, the thrill is gone. The city itself is also TINY. Gamers now being used to the grandure of San Andreas and Manhattan (in its various forms) will quickly tire of jumping around the same buildings over and over.

My advice to anyone is to RENT this game.

this game is well.........amazing!

i LOVE this game. who knew that so much destruction could be caused in 1 game! the boss battles are great, and challenging, but in a good way. this is a long game, so it will give you more 2 look forward to when u beat a level. u do not have to be a fan of the hulk to love this game. once again, this game is great!!!

This game is incredible. I am amazed at how much fun this is. The game play, control, and plot are well thought out and engaging. The really joy here is just the unabashed love of bashing. The PS2 graphics are not as good as the XBOX version, but still very enjoyable, and almost irrelevant as the game itself is so much fun. It's also great stress relief for 30 somethings...best game I've played in years.
