Disappointed

This game isn't near what I expected from EA Sports. I'll give credit for the sharp graphics, but there are only two modes of play: exhibition and tournament. There is NO SEASON or DYNASY mode!!! Unbelievable!!! EA, you've again failed to make a solid college basketball product. I'll be returning my copy tomorrow. Potential buyers beware.

Multiple game modes...and no season or dynasty!!!!

This might just be the biggest waste of money I've spent on a game. EVERY sports game I've ever owned has had some sort of season mode...how hard is it to have a season mode! I'm sure glad they put the "all important" create a team feature. What a waste of time. This could tarnish the March Madness name for years to come!

What a waste of money

This game (was bad). I waited 3 months to get this stupid game and it just blows. There is no way a game of college should not have a dynasty mode to draft out of. College games of 3 years ago had this feature. All you can do is tournament and single game mode. Then to make me madder I bought it and could not get my money back from the store so I was stuck with it. I wouldn't buy this game to save my life. It just (was bad) big time.

What happened EA Sports? As a die-hard EA Sports game fan I am sorely disappointed by this latest installment of March Madness. I have been enjoying the PS1 version, March Madness 2000 and was eagerly awaiting the release of this title on PS2. After all, with such a fun, strong game (MM 2000) and awesome releases such as NCAA Football for PS2, I was going to be in college hoops heaven!
Then I bought the game. I admit, I never looked at the box to see what features there would be. Why should I? Every other game has season and dynasty mode and they wouldn't make this update worse than one from 2 years earlier on the PS1, would they. Appears they would. I got this home and first believed I had a defective copy or something. I searched and searched for a season or dynasty mode. Then I come to realize - THEY'RE NOT THERE! What the heck? Playing through a season, dealing with injuries, etc... recruiting every year. These truly made this game a blast for a hard-core hoops fan. But, this version of the game has none of this. You can play through the NCAA tournament and that's all. No season. No dynasty. No fun after a couple hours. Sure, it'll be fun for hanigin with the buds and playing exhibition games. But, when I jones for playing a season, I'm back on MM 2000. Why would ES Sports release such a step backwards?
OK, the gameplay is in itself great. Graphics, fight songs, it's all there. Too bad the game doesn't deliver in any other way. My recommendation - wait until next year to purchase this title (if EA Sports corrects this letdown), find a copy of MM 2000 from PS1, or look elsewhere (989 Sports - that hurts). I can't, in good faith, tell any hard-core hoops fan to buy this game if you want it all. If you're looking for a play exhibition games with your friends kind of game - go for it.

WARNING: I heard this game has no season or dynasty mode

I haven't played this game and probably never will because...

WARNING: I read this game has no season or dynasty mode. I read this on a game related website. I'm not 100% sure, but if this game truly doesn't have a season or dynasty mode (only tourney or exhibition) then I'm not buying it. What is the point in this game without a season mode or recruiting and all that stuff? EASports has really let me down.

Their NCAA Football has a great recruiting system. NBA Live has all kinds of season and career options. Now EA sports bball on the PS2 (supposed to be a great system) doesn't even have a season. I was going to get this game for by birthday, but now I'm definitely not. What a joke and an insult. I'll now look into NBA 2k2 or just wait until baseball season to buy a sports game. Heck, I might even try hockey.

I hate this game

EA Sports should be ashamed. Only 130 teams and no season or dynasty mode. This game is like one from 10 years ago with no features and no long-term playability. I don't know if EA Sports will ever recover from this one.

This game has incredible college atmosphere and fast paced moves. However, EA sports must have been taking a nap when they missed the most important partof playing team sport games...THERE IS NO SEASON CAPABILITY on the game. you can only play an exhibition or go straight to th tournament. What kind of boredom this will causd for al of us disappointed sports addicts. It's a shame but the playability is still excellent though. Maybe thy will get itright on th 2003 game.

TERRIBLE!

I was really excited to play this game when I received it last night, but then I realized that the game has NO SEASON MODE OR A DYNASTY BUILDING MODE?! I mean are you kidding me? It is like I am playing the old Nintendo and keeping my own stats and playing my own season! It is the worst excuse for a basketball game that I have ever seen! It doesn't even have all of the players on every team? I could have bought NCAA Final Four by 989 Sports and at least I would have had a season mode! [...]

EA Sports gets less than an F on both their basketball games

I usually go to their website to read the message boards and they deleted the Playstation 2 Message board with some customers comments regarding how to recover their loses by returning the game to EA sports for a full refund. I guess they want to suck poor kids hard earned money for a half- ... job.

A Missing Link

The game was not all that bad. I give it four stars because of the gameplay and the graphics. The bad part is the no season or dynasty mode. If season or dynasty, this would probably be the best college basketball game ever. You almost did it EA Sports, but you just fell short!
