True Crime: Streets of LA

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 0 / 1

This is a very fun video game which has every single street in downtown and the western urban area of Los Angeles.

Nicholas Kang Wilson, after suspended from the LAPD, is recruited by the Elite Operations Division to solve reduntant, violent crimes committed by an oriental gang known as Ancient Wu's Triad. The Triad and Russian mob have been laundering money for North Korea.

This game, unlike most video games, boasts a high moral value: If you are a "bad cop" and kill innocents, you loose Good/Bad Cop points. If you attempt to complete a mission but cannot, you can continue through the story. However, not completing every mission (you cannot do a mission differently after failing one) will cause you to progress to the worst or average ending. If you have a good cop status and complete all episodes 100%, you will progress to the Best Ending.

Every 100 points you eran, whether completing missions our solving crimes in Drive-To missions, you receive a badge. A badge can be spent at a 24/7 facility to earn new martial arts, weapon parts and car moves. If you complete a mission, you earn a Bonus Cruisin' where you aquire weapons, cars and grapple moves.

Overall this is a great video game.

True Crime, a Grand Theft Auto wannabe...

I went out and RENTED true crime after I saw it's commercial. I have to admit the Commercial made this game look like the next and maybe even greater than Grand Theft Auto 3. I had false hopes. True Crime is terrible, there is no reason for you to buy this game.

First off EVERYTHING is WAY over-exaggerated, the figting, the shooting, even the gameplay. Some of the moves you can do in fighting are a little bit too "Matrix-esk". And it's always the same thing, run into a room, fire off a gun, fight with the left-overs. And when you're driving the car, you can goup on two wheels (WHO CAN DO THAT?).

On top of that you fight a dragon and I quote from A Gamer,"How is fighting a dragon true crime?" And he's right, in no way does fighting a dragon have to do with Crime.

True Crime is one of those games you beat once and then leave it on the shelf to collect dust. There is no replayability because all of the suprise is gone, also it just gets friggin' boring.

Overview:

Fun- 4/10 This game is very redundant and quite boring after a little while of play.

Graphics-6/10 one of the best features of this game...sadly. (All because you can drive over 200 miles of L.A)

Gameplay- 5/10 a little on the stupid side, as I mentioned before, too repetitive, and the camera angles screw you up.

Difficulty- 5/10 fairly easy...some parts are harder than others.

Overall- 20/40

This game is not worth $50, I doubt it would be worth 20. This Game could have been awesome, but it seems like the makers lost sight of what they were trying to do after they made the first 5 minutes of the game. Nice Concept, crappy delivery...If your interested in a game like this, I reccomend Grand Theft Auto 3.

OK this game is kinda fun. Here is what i think of True Crime.

.......MY Discreption of True Crime Streets of L.A. ......
1)A varry big city. 250 square milles of city. You shouldn't be boad going around and looking at all the recreations of the city.
2)You get to do the Slow Motion Shooting like Max Payne. This is cool but it can mess you up sometimes.
3)Their are alot of cool cars in the game some you onlock.
4)The game is kinda short not as long as you would expect maby 10-15hrs.
5)If you are a Hardcore fan of the GTA games then you might not like it But you might not its all on what you like.
6)The gameplay is prity good beocuse in the middle of missions you have randum crimes. EX:You might be driving on the highway just minding your bisness and all of a sudden soneone does somthing wornge you half to chace them or whatever.
7)The Graphics are prity good. Looks good on prity much all the sistems except the gamecube and xbox have Bump Mapping. so they might look a Little better than the PS2.
8)The game has alot of replay value beocuse the missions are threaded inside themselves so the game is offected by what you do in the missions.
9)The game has 3 endings depended on the way you play the game.
10)You can build up your Driving, fighting, shooting skills as you progress threw the game.
11) All in All this game is fun but if your a GTA fan this one is proubly not for you. Its proubly a game you rent than a buy.
12)You can play as Snop Dog thats COOL. But first you half to find all 30 Dog Bones in the entire City = TIME.

is bad

I was extremely disappointed with this game. I had been waiting for True Crime to come out for over a year, and it was not worth it. In fact, it wasn't even worth waiting for at all! The guns you get are cheesy, the voice acting is TERRIBLE, and it totally killed Max Payne and Grand theft auto since you were, for some reason a supercop who could dodge bullets and hijack cars. I am being honest with you, this is the worst game I have ever played in my life, and I have played lots of games on all the systems. The soundtrack was really bad. I am a huge fan of rap music, but the rap music they put in the game was poor. Really poor. There is no free roam, you must always be playing a mission while playing True Crime. You cannot just wander around aimlessly. The Hand-to-Hand combat is fantastically frustrating, since you can barely hit the guy when you swing at him. Your supercop chraracter "Nick Kang" also has the ability to make up the most retarded disses of all time like: "I could have done that with one hand," "I told you my kung foo is better, didn't I?",and Haha whodaman?" they might sound ok now, but the way he says it is like your dad saying "Whats up dawg to your best friend." If you really want to play this game, RENT IT FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

True Crime is Hot!!!!

True Crime is a gangsta game. It has codes for a lot of different games. You can even play as a PIMP. But the cars are stupid. I think rockstar games need to change some of those cars to HUMMERS. The cars are pretty normal. They don't even have a motorcycle. But Nick Kang is cool. I especially like when he flashes his badge to scare tougher criminals. I also like when you go up to a citizen and frisk them to see if they have any illegal weapons or drugs. to do this go up to an everyday citizen (not gangstas or pimps) and press O. It is hot. But Rosie is hot!!!!! So after i played this game i beat it but it's kinda stupid because you have to have a good cop status to beat the game good. BOTTOM LINE: THIS IS A PIMP GANGSTA GAME.

This game can be comparred GTA: Vice City but no helicopters or motorcycles and the music could be better. But the storyline makes up for it the classic cop seeking the truth to what happened to his father. The guns also are good the upgrade are ok and the fighting is fine. But one draw back is when you are fighting a major boss you cannot use your guns. The best part is you cannot die. But if you are looking for a replacement For GTA this is not your game. If you want a roaming game or just a way to releive tyou stress (go on a killing spree) this is your game. The senless violence and language aside I do not really understand how this game revived the rating that it did. There is no blood in the game, expect for the final movie
