WOW I Just Love This Game!!!!

While a lot of folks I know prefer the first person format of other games I like the look of Ultima. If you are current or past player of pencil amd paper RPG's and liked using miniatures I see no reason why you wouldn't fall in love with this game. Some reviews have said Ultima players are aloof and rude but I have found that most folks in there are actually quite helpfull and don't mind showing a newbie yhe ropes or passing along a few helpfull tips. I got this game around Jan.1 and have been playing it constantly and just can't seem to get enough of it. What else can I say but its exactly the kind of game I've been looking for.

If it's not worth it, why not ask the thousands who have been on for 8 years?

Like anything, UO suffers from flaws, if it was perfect you would probably have to sell off your life in some form to some type of demon wanting your soul for his dark lord but thankfully, UO is a true experience, first off, the game is built on a community rather than just a few pixels built around "the same ol, same ol" each day is something new. Every day you can potentially meet someone different and share a new battle that lasts hours with some close friends with characters you've taken much time and pride to craft into what YOU want. With 5 characters and 700 points to devote per char, the possibilities per account are fascinating. I have been playing for around 8 years myself a little after the BETA release and I have also been an avid fan of Square games, Namco fighters, etc, and only UO has kept me going this long and I suspect many years to come due to the length of time it possibly has.

I would buy this game for all the money in the world. it has good graphics and 64 different spells to choose from. You can have different skills for battle like swords or archery. You can also have craft skills like carpentry and smithing. Or you can be like me and hunt for treasure. I dig up treasure found from the treasure maps on the dead bodies of dozens of varieties of monsters with differents speeds looks and strentghs. There is no way to actually beat the game, you just keep getting more skill and more money. I would strongly recommend this game for any people who like role-playing games or just for pvp (Person vs. Person) combat. Or maybe just have the peaceful life of taming animals to do work for you (Or taming animals to kill stuff for you). Or live the life of a craftsman making wares and tools for other people to use, or maybe just to sell to get money for something you need to buy. I would recomend buying this game because you also get to play online with thousands of other people online who play for the fun of it all. You will acheive imense fun you will have when you get this game.

This game is the greatest, its so realistic for a fantasy game. You can do so much in here, from walking around singing and fighting monsters, to sitting on the local tavern and getting drunk (...). You can have any profesion you want, from being a respected noble with grandourius armor, to the stupid groveling poor peasent with only his/her underwear. Theres never a dull moment, as there are millions of people playing, and thousands of Game Masters to help you with any problems you might come across. If you only get one game this year, make sure that its Ultima Online: Renaissance!

YOU HAVE TO BUY THIS GAME! ULTIMA ONLINE IS THE BEST GAME IN THE WORLD! I HAVE BEEN PLAYING IT FOR 4 YEARS! DONT EVEN THINK OF BUYING EVERQUEST BECAUSE IT SUCKS COMPARED TO ULTIMA!!!!! YOU WILL START PLAYING AND I BET YOU WONT GET OF FOR A YEAR!!! IT IS THE BEST!!

Yes, this game is realistic and indept. I also like the idea of playing with other people online. But They forgot to do one thing when they made this game. They forgot to make it fun. UO doesn't even live up to how fun U6 or 7. You'd think with the kind of machines most people own now they would have been able to put more fun in UO.

I've played this game on and off since UO: Public Beta... it's come a long way and is new player friendly. Wish they would not have restricted player killing (pking) so much on the "evil" side of each shard. If you have T2A you may want to pick it up anyway: it has a MUCH better referance card and there is a NEW intro movie on the cd.

I've played this game just about every day for get this: 20 months! I have never played any game like it and still I am not tired of it. It is the only game I play. The interaction between real people is unmachable.

Ultima Online, is it REALLY worth it?

I played this game for over 3 years. Ive seen it come from a simply wonderful game, to the mistake it has become. I highly recommend you get this game if you enjoy the following:
Lag
Lack of help from the game masters
Bug exploiters by the thousands
Foul actions and abundant crowds of insulting people.

This game has lost it's steam, I don't recommend it to anyone.
