i remember renting this game and playing it for hours and hours. it is such a creative and fun game that i never wanted to put it down. one of the best things on this game was the weapons. things like nooses and gallows would be spread around the field. you would then set them up so that other players would run into them and be...injured. If you ever find this game, you MUST buy it.
Troll, troll, troll...

Best game ever! I played this for only a few days, years and years ago, but my friends and I still talk about it.
When you started losing by a ridiculous score, they would call out the Troll, which was about 10 times the size of the other players and it would just run all over everyone.
Just ordered a used Sega Genesis machine and found Pigskin Footbrawl. Ready for wasted days playing this game.
I wish someone would upgrade for the new systems, such as PlayStation, XBox, etc.

I have to agree with the other reviewers here, this is truely a excellent game. I usually hate any sports game due to the fact if you've played one you've played them all. My friends and I way back in the day spent many of hours playing this game. We used to have Pigskin Footbrawl tournaments. It would be worth picking up a old Sega Genesis just for this game alone and maybe one day Xbox or Playstation would bring back this classic game, even if it's on one of those Midway Arcade Classic collection disc. This is one of my all time favorite games. Just straight footbrawl brutality, can't go wrong with that.

My college buddies and I still refer to "Pigskin" as the greatest "spectator" video game ever. While this had to be the most enjoyable video game to play head-to-head, it definitely was worth its weight just watching the spectacle of trolls on the game. When the beatdowns got really severe, nothing was funnier than seeing two trolls on the field.
I keep hoping this game would be updated for newer systems, such as PlayStation, Xbox, PCs, etc.

So I received this for a xmas present one year and was like WTF is this? I just rolled my eyes and thought it was garbage. Then I fired it up in the genesis....absolutely amazing! This was by far one of the top 3 games for genesis all time. Basically like a more brutal double dribble of football. Traps and punching abound! I remember the first time the computer got a troll...i was wondering what was up. Then I realized how bad he was after laying flat on my back. After getting a little better the computer ended up with 2. Pretty scary but beatable....thats when the option for facing a troll team comes in. Imagine a whole team of large green ugly trolls running all over you. Thats the real challenge in this game. You want a game of hilarity and endless fun with a sports theme, this is it!
