I have played Hitman 1 & 2 and have just finished Contracts and I can honestly say this is the best one so far. Eidos took everything that was extremely well done in 1 & 2 and combined them into this installment. I especially enjoyed the new missions this one had to offer as well. I found them to be very well done and more realistic as opposed to some of the suicide jobs in Silent Assassin. Although I was a bit surprised to see several of the missions taken from Hitman 1 but redone and put into contracts. However I didn't find this to be a negative because I personally thought they improved upon them greatly. Another positive of this installment is the tremendous amount of freedom you are given to assassinate your target. You are allowed to use items found in the environment, such as a pillow to smother your victim in his sleep, or the old fashioned technique of a silenced berretta to the head. Speaking of killing I greatly enjoyed many of the improvements they made on the subject. For instance now knives and edged weapons are more powerful then in Silent Assassin, your sniper rifle can be carried in a briefcase again like in Hitman 1, and when in sneak mode you are able to move a lot faster, which helps tremendously. Eidos also made many new improvements and additions to your weapon inventory as well. Such as the new mini Uzi's, a 357. Magnum, and if you are really bored a meat hook. The graphics in Contracts are the best I have seen in the series. The textures and characters look very smooth and realistic, as a game could make them. The sound is incredible once again, from the sound effects and voices, to the boom and patter of lighting and rain. And as always with this series, the musical score is once again fantastic.
I found this game very enjoyable and a worthy sequel. I would greatly recommend this game for anyone who is a fan of the Hitman series and for those who are just discovering it. I would also highly recommend this game for people who have only played Silent Assassin so that they can experience the redone missions without already knowing how to complete the job.
: Parents Beware: This game is rated Mature for a very, very good reason! There is a very high level of sexual content, and the violence is to a great extreme. This is by far the most Mature and sexually and violently outlandish of the three. For instance: in the first actual assignment you are at a bondage/fetish party complete with lap dancing hookers and an opium bar where people are getting as high as a kite. So I say again if you aren't sure whether to buy this for your kids research it thoroughly, you won't be sorry.

Probebly, the best put together hitman...

This game folks, is one of my favorite games ever made, ever. I don't know about what other people think. But, I can tell you this, i've beat hitman 1, 2, and 3 (contracts). I can easily say out of all 3 of the hitmans that i've beaten, this is easily the best one to me.

As for this game being hard. Just about all of the hitman games are difficult, and require technique, practice, and skills.

Now, its time to go over why I like this hitman over the other hitman's.

1. The sneak mode in hitman 2 makes you move ALOT slower than in contracts. I don't know about people calling this "realistic". In reality, when you move quicker in sneak mode, they are apt to not be aware of their surroundings as soon.

2. As for me beating hitman 1, and not going to enjoy contracts. Bullshit, I enjoyed every minute of contracts, and how the levels were redesigned, as well as re-put together. The whole point of playing a game is to "have fun" right? of course. Just play, do what you can, and have fun.

3. In hitman 2, the music is WAY louder than the people talking, and the gun shots too. I like to hear the gun shots, and people talking just as loud, or at least under my control, to control it. Hitman 2 however, dosn't allow you to do this, you can only bring "The voices" so loud, and "The SOUND EFX" so loud. The sound quality of the gun shots arn't so hot either, esp. compared to the ones in contracts.

4. I am not really interested in hearing about "47's Personal Life". In hitman 2, they made up some dumb "Story" about his "Personal" life, and what kind of person he is. Lets face it, he is 47, hes no joke, he is out there to do his job, he kills, and I play the game to do "His job".

5. If you play hitman 1, and compare it to Hitman: Contracts. You can easily, and most definatly tell that Hitman 1 is not nearly as well as a put together game as Contracts. I am not going to get into why, because there is too many reasons to name why. Just play it, and you will see..

6. As for the guns in Hitman 2, when you go to select the gun in that menu. The gun models arn't nearly as well "made" as the ones in contracts, and I could actually imagine the gun models in the way that make it as black plastic toys.

7. In Hitman: Contracts, the first mission begins as you getting out of where your at alive, and escape from getting killed from a SWAT team thats after you, thats some intense action. In hitman 2, your first mission begins as you saving your "priest" friend, after they show that dumb story line of "47's" (Note: 47's priest friend got kidnapped before your first mission, its the very beginning story line of hitman 2...). I don't know about you guys, but i'd rather be escaping from a SWAT team that wants to track me down, and kill me.

8. I am not interested in taking my time to go to the computer, in hitman 2 to start the next mission. In contracts, it brings you right to the mission, thats all I want, how about you?

9. The syringe in Contracts is pretty useful, You can inject who you need to for the mission with it, and he will be unconscious for a long enough time to do your thing to complete the mission. In hitman 2, They have this stupid bottle thing you use to knock somebody out. The reason why its stupid, is right when they are knocked out, they get back up in no longer than 20 seconds. Sounds like a waste of time to me..

10. The ending in hitman 2 is kind of boring, I am not going to get into why it is because thats for you to find out, and me not to tell you. The ending in contracts puts me into a state of thoughts, thats all i'm going to tell you..

I could go on, and on with more reasons why I like contracts the best. But this is probebly enough to be helpful to you. I like all of the hitmans, above is just why I like contracts definatly the most, and I personally think some people that have reviewed this item have been giving it a bad rep.. By the way the Hitman 2 Soundtrack is a masterpiece, and Jesper Kyds: Hitman music is one of my bigger influences.

I don't care if you give me a non-helpful review, saying that I know what I like about this game, and i've beat all 3 of the hitmans.

To the ones that give me a good review, thank you.. Have a good day...

Later,

Yuri

! EVEN BETTER THEN THE FIRST 1 !

Many people think that hitman 3 is excly as the first 1.
Well ure wrong !
The missions are the same as the first 1, but the suroundings are a little bit diffrent, and there is more weapons.
Simple things like a pillow can become a dangerous weapon.
You can drown people in a pool.
One more thing, to understand exctly what the hell is going on in the game, make shure you passed the 1'st game, or at least know what happened there.
You dont have to, but the game will be more clear if you do.

The game is a little bit hard and you kind of got to think what youre doing, but I passed it.
If you have a qustion what happened after the last level in hitman 1, well you will find out in hitman 3.
What i realy like in hitman 3, is that if you walk beside a guy he wont think ure bad.
In hitman 2 you just walk beside them, and ther alerted.
That realy pissed me off.
In hitman 3 when you look in the keyhole you can look around.
In hitman 2 you saw him turning the knob, but not here.
Graphics are great.
If you dont belive about what I just said, just get a demo and ull see what im talking about.
Anyways I suggest you get this game, you wont regret it.

Also, hitman 4 is coming out in spring 2005.
Dont belive me?
Then go to www.gamespot.com, and see for youre self.

Edios was very dairing to realese agent 47 (The first hitman) but most people liked it. Hitman 2 silent assasin did most things right and was a big hit on Ps2 and Xbox. The third one though is fasinating and does everything right. I've played a demo and you start off pretty bad in paris but Agent 47 gets a pool stick and breaks someones windpipe and he's back in it. This game will have about a thousand ways that you can kill a person. This game is Rated Rp. right now but will most likely will be rated M. This game will also let you combinde you're brifecase and put guns in them. This game is most likely trailing the other games so it should be rated M. BUT you can raise and lower the blood if it's rated M.

Finaly not just a blind shooting sensless game

i havent played the first 2 hitmans but i enjoyed contracts.u don't really have to know what happend in the first 2 to know the story.what i first didn't like about the storyline is that it has no connections really to the jobs but if u are carefull u ll get taht some of the jobs and his past history have a lot in commen(check hitman in wikipedia)
gameplay fantastic.slient assasinations, little nice goodies that help a lot(poison the whisky,etc..)it takes a little patiance to get how to do the strangling and other sneaking stuff and so do the controllers but i think its done the best possible way
the ambiente of the misions is mostly very original.
what is also a big plus there are always several possibilaties to complet the mission.
i had no problem installing it and playin it.works perfectly on my computer(3.0 ghz p4ht,1.0 ghz ram,7800gtx)
cant wait foe the 4th one blood money

a must game for everyone tired of all the old just shoot oneway dum kinda games.

Well done but definitely not for everyone

I'm reminded of a quote from the movie Grosse Point Blank. Marty Blank has become a hitman and returns to his high school for his ten year reunion. He's explaining his career to his old girlfriend who he still loves:

Marty: "Seriously, when I left, I joined the Army and took the service exam. They found my psych results fit a certain profile. A certain "Moral flexibility" would be the best way to describe it... I was loaned out to a CIA-sponsored program. It's called "mechanical operations." We sort of found each other...

I'd be very careful in allowing teenagers to play this game. It is a nice change of pace as far as not having to shoot at *everything* and actually being rewarded for allowing innocent bystanders to live even if you do end up disabling them at the time. I also like the idea that bodies just don't 'vanish' and other characters will notice them and raise the alarm if you don't hide them, or if they regain consciousness and go ratting on you. I appreciate the stealth aspect and having to interact with the characters, doing the social engineering bit.

The only problems I had with it was the level in the BDSM party at the meat processing plant. Pretty gory, didn't bother me, but I had to play it when my kids weren't around. It was mostly just the things going on giving that particular level 'ambience' which would actually make me laugh out loud. It is sad to realize that people really do that kind of stuff, and so I'm not criticizing it for its realism, just saying it's something you have to keep in mind as not being a *good* thing to practice, in real life. It's especially something to keep in mind when considering teenagers who are forming their sexual identity and morals and how that kind of imagery will affect them.

But other than that, the strategy involved is definitely different. I did end up needing a walkthrough on the last level, as it then turns into a major shootout (for which you are not equipped!) if you don't think incredibly fast, and know just what to do. Almost all the time I can figure out how to beat it without a walkthrough, but I was pretty much helpless on that last level.

another cool Hitman title

I played Hitman 2 first and then backtracked to Contracts. I enjoyed the cinematography and the storyline as well as the game play. Some reviewers note some flaws, but I didn't examine the game with a fine-toothed comb; as long as games are made by humans, there are gonna be flaws. It seems you can't go wrong with the Hitman titles. It will provide hours of entertainment. Enjoy!

I had a great time playing this game. great graphics, sound, blood and bullet holes. It is a real bloody game. It has 12 missions and was a bit short for me. I will still replay this game a bit later.

Hitman Contracts continues the story of 47's escape from the asylum. The game starts off good and creepy with great graphics.True to the rating, this game is definetly for mature players or players with a strong stomach to gore and cold blooded behavior.Unlike a lot of games, you have to think this game out. It's aplay again game and worth buying.

Hitman Contracts is a great game! The graphics are excellent. You are an assassin wit an arsenal of weapons at your disposal. The mission of the game is that you work for an agency and receive different murder contracts to preform. (On the side of good!) The action is none stop, and the interactivity is great. The key board functions on this game are not to complicated ether.
