buffy 2 will be better than the first

compared to the first xbox game, Buffy 2: Chaos Bleeds will be a game to watch out for. since the Buffy series ended, this will act as a 'season 8' for the major buffy-heads. the game itself looks remarkable. decent graphics, great story, great features. you can play as buffy, willow, xander, faith, or spike. there's a multiplayer mode and some great puzzles and whatnot. judging from the screen shots and other reviews, this game won't disappoint. 5 stars.

A must own for fan and non-fan alike!

Yes! A game to heal my Buffy Blues. Most of the characters are voiced by the original actors and the ones that aren't are not half bad. This game is loaded w/ great extras that any Buffy fan would chew an arm off to see. The game play is smooth, the rendering is actually better than I expected, and the story is as enjoyable as watching an episode of Buffy. Most important for me is the actual ease of game play. I'm not a button-gammer. I don't do very well with games that make you use all of the buttons on the controller. However, I can do this game. Maybe that's because it's Buffy, but I have no frustration utilizing all the commands available. This game is great and you can have up to 4 players! Outstanding is what I say! Buffy lives!

Buffy's back! Sort of! But that's good enough!

Ok, yeah so from what I hear this will be an excellent game, but it won't be like an "8th season" as told by a previous reviewer. Actually it's a "lost episode" that takes place in season 5 (that's Glory's season) that you actually play through and even get new witty dialogue from joss whedon. It's like puddin' in my ears it's so good! Who cares if the game [is bad] or not, if youre a big Buffy fan like me you'll want to get this to play through the new episode from season 5 that you didn't get to see! 5X5 B!

At this price...go for it!

This is a pretty good game (With unlockable extras aplenty) and with the help of some online walk throughs for the last few levels (and the hubby beating some of the bosses for me) I managed to beat it in less than a month. But...however...I do agree with most of the other viewers on the whole camera angle/ lack of being able to save on the continue points situation. Anyway...I also think that we should've been able to play as Sid longer (you pretty much only get to play him for like half a level) and also Faith only gets one level while all the other characters you can play in more than one level. No big deal...cause they are both unlockable characters for the multiplayer games. While some people werent too crazy about the graphics...I liked them, especially the cemetary level. It goes without saying that if you are a Buffy fan that you wont be disappointed. (Gotta love the one-liners). And even if you arent a Buffy fan and you like fighting games, pick this one up. Cant go wrong at this price. :o)

FUN, EXCITING...and Buffy lives again

Buffy Chaos Bleeds is one of the best game. The graphics are not bad at all. The cartoon looks of the characters in this game looks excactly the same to the real live characters in the show. It's very impressive!!!!The game control for PS2 is very easy. The voices for BUFFY is not bad because the voice actor for Buffy really captured the voice of Sarah Michelle Gellar. The combat moves are great, too. All that kicking..martial arts..punching that Buffy does in the show is also similar in the video game..I recommend this game..BUY it...This game is worth BUYING...I hope Buffy video games will continue..............

Through TV shows, DVD's, comics, novels, and even action figures - I have followed Buffy where e'er she has led. This is a TV show that has become a whole genre all by itself. Now I find myself with game console in hand, dusting vampires and conquering evil with the Sunnydale 'dream team.' I have to admit, it was a bit of fun.

My computer/console game preferences are almost entirely for RPG's and pure adventures, which I've played since there was such a thing. I'm not entirely comfortable in the venue of the pure 'action' game, especially since my coordination has always left something to be desired. But, to be frank, this was a pretty positive experience - once I got over being hammer to death repeatedly by growling fiends.

Part of this is due to the familiar characters and a good story line. More relevant is that the game is quite playable by people like me, even though it also offers all kinds of violent variations for those who love complicated moves. All the bosses are beatable, once you find the right trick. And only a few of the puzzles are so outré that the solution seems to appear by magic.

In many games, the characters are pure violence machines. This isn't the case here as each of the played personae has distinct characteristics and a lot of chit chat. And to fill out the bill there are a whole set of interviews as 'extras' that you can see if you play the game through. Even by my biased standards, this is a topnotch job.

Buffy is back in a kick ass Buffy game.

Just got the game today. I had gotten the comic several months ago but totally forgot there was going to be a game. I am glad that I found it though.

I have played only one level as of now but I already know that it rocks. The story line starts off like a Buffy episode and has got that feel to it as well.

The in game cinematics looks really good and the actors resemblance is striking. I really like Willow, to me she looks gorgeous. But Buffy looks just like the real deal. I have not seen Faith yet but I am sure she looks great too.

Sadly Sarah Michelle and Alyson Hannigan have not provided their voices for the game. But their replacements are good. Giselle Loren makes a very good Buffy. Not as good as Sarah but as perfect as you can get from a different person.

I had read in a review that Alyson's stand-in was awful but she sounds ok to me. Granted, it does not sound 100% like Willow but I have played game in which the stand-in actors did not even remotely sound like the real actor so that is no big deal to me.

The graphics of the game are good. The characters look good in the game as well and that is what matters most. The game looks really good.

Controlwise it is nicely done. The moves are easy to perform and according to the manual there are lots of them. Each character has her/his own moves and strong and weak points adding real depth to the game.

The camera does not follow you automatically but you can steer it using the right analogue stick which is just as good. That way you can choose which way the camera should look. Shoddy camera's can be a huge pain with these games so this was a great option.

And last but not least, the characters make hilarious one-liners. They may be repetative but I have not played enough of the game to know this yet. In any case, I do not mind since that is the case with almost every game which uses voice clips.

The comments are really funny such as Xander commenting that he makes dusting vampires more rewarding by pretending that they are all Spike.

In closing, I feel that for any Buffy fan this game is a great buy. Non-Buffy fans may not like it as much but that is always the case with games based on a tv show or movie. But unlike most of those games this game is not purely made to make more money off a popular franchise. No, it is really good and you should at least give it a try.

Too Fun to Complain

This game is really addicting. The voice acting is great, animations good, interesting story, and spot on Buffy action. If you are a fan of the show, get this game. If you're not, become one and get this game.

I'm sure there are a lot of flaws in it, but they are really hard to see because the pure enjoyment value of the game is too hard to see past.

I haven't had any glitches in it, I don't know about other people though. It runs smoothly, with an occasional drag. The only time you will have to stare at loading screens is before the main menue and when you're loading a level. The level areas are huge, with secrets a plenty. You'll find yourself spending over an hour on a single level just because it is so big and you feel compelled to explore everywhere.

Some missions require backtracking, but that's ok because the forces of evil are quick to repopulate and you will never find yourself without a fight. That's not to say that its hard, but its not easy either. Since the levels are so massive, I reccomend the strategy guide by Prima Games to go with your game.

You get to play as many of the favorite Buffy characters from the whole series, and those you don't get to be will probably make an apperance. Playable characters include Buffy, Willow, Xander, Faith, and Spike. Each character gets their own mission, and they will be playable in a few other missions. There isn't much of a difference in characters except for Willow. She's the witch, so she has all the spells. Once you finish her mission, you will be an unstopable distructive force. Spike and Xander have many similarities, mostly moves. Buffy and Faith also have the same moveset, with over 100 moves that they can unleash on the forces of evil.

If you're not convinced yet, you should jump on the oppertunity to play with or against a friend. There is a special game mode in which you can battle a friend or three using unlocable characters. This feature has some good qualities, but is the weaker point of the game. That's not to say that anyone won't completly enjoy beating their friends into a pulp with the pitifully pathetic zombie.

Bottom Line: Get this game. Its as simple as that.

Very Fun Game

First of all one person stated that you have to stake your enemies, which is not true. When fighting with any weapon (except the crossbow)you can press the triangle button and it will thrust the weapon forward and dust your enemy.
The only things I did not like about this game is the camera views and the fighting. You have to move your character around to get a good view of where you are going sometimes. When fighting I noticed that your character will go off fighting after an enemy has moved and you have to let off the controls and let your character stop before you can try going after your enemy again. Those 2 things still did not hinder the fun of the game so much as for me to say "gee this game sucked!" I am also a Buffy fan so maybe that is why I liked it. All I know is I am not much for video games and I liked this one.
