This game was asome!!! If you are looking for a challange hunting game that is beatable then buy this.I would also say once you have this game buy a game like Cabela's: Outdoor aventures, Alaskan adventures or Deer Hunt 2004 or 2005!!

I have three hunting games and this game is by far the best game. The graphics are awesome, the game is intense, yet very playable for a kid. Some areas of the game are easy to play, and others are not, which makes it very challenging. I would recommend this game to anyone, ages 8 and up who enjoy the outdoors or hunting, eventhough I am not a hunter.

the first time a rhino or buffalo charges you & kills you your heart will beat faster the aiming could be better but all in all well worth the money i bought mine used for under $20 i really hunt out in the big cypress park it lets you hunt in africa, australia,neitherlands,miami, theres different hunt modes , boats & atv's to drive you to your tree my only complaint is the buttons that little joystick is for aiming but a great game with lots of maps for you to unlock as you complete the hunts very life like scenary

This is the best hunting game PS2 has to offer. Forget the newer titles, and buy this absolute gem!

Do you enjoy timed hunts? 2 minutes to bag a rhino that takes 30 minutes to track down? no? I don't either, and you wont find stupid timed hunts here.

Do you enjoy boring, and annoying "missions" that require you to do something you'd rather not do, like "Please find John Johnson, a hunter who's been lost in the outback! you must find him before nightfall!" No? Yeah, me neither, that's not hunting, it's B.S. and you wont find crap like that in this game.

You buy your tags, you buy your gear, and you go hunt! use calls, decoys, scents, tents, etc. No stupid timers, no stupid "missions". The way a hunting game should be.

Deer Hunter by Atari is much better

ok well when i purchased the cabelas dangerous hunts it was quit entertaining.i had beat about half the game when it started to get boring and when i had slowed down on shooting my animals i noticed that they repeated the same functions over and over again and when you hunt the cape buaffalo which is cool but they see you no matter what i still kill them because fo my .510 rifle so dont expect it to be the best ever hunting game.

or get killed blood and pieces go everywhere. hunting is boring wi tha semi auto rifle why just dosnt the game let you attract all the animals near you and then pull out an ak 47 or a bazooka that would be entertainment.Kids like me these days want blood and death in video games not skill and patience,but pointless unneccesary deaths everywhere!Woulnt it be greAT if you could see a peaceful bunny rabbit grazing and the to fire a rocket launcher at it? i think so.or if a rhino is charging, you just pull ot a flamethrower or something. The point is, this game needs more death. and it should let you use overly exotic and elaborate weapons in the hunt like a WW1 chain gun. THIS GAME NEEDS MORE DEATH AND EXCITEMENT THEN IT WOULD BE A 10

The game is very frustrating. With the default equipment you get tired very quickly with every character. I know they are trying to be realistic but realistically you would need a truck to carry half the basic set of equipment. You get tired just walking up a little hill and you walk extremely slow most of the time. The hunting areas are really small, it is like hunting in somebody's backyard. You can easily trap the animals against the hills and they run in circles until you kill them, which is not much of a challenge. You also have to wait for the game to load all the time. You walk just a few hundred feet and then have to wait for the LOADING..... To further add to the frustration, you frequently slide down the smallest hill and it says you are too injured to go on, and yes, you guessed it, more of that LOADING.... Also, if you walk or slip into the water you can't get out and guess what, yes, you guessed it again, LOADING.... Like if that was not enough, you will get in trouble for shooting near a building. You do it twice and, oh, the suspense is killing you, I know it.... LOADING..... ARRRGAHHH!!!! I could go on, and, well, I think I will. When you use the vehicles they are really hard to drive. Most of the time I get stuck in trees or drive off a cliff or into the water and LOADING.... They should change the name of this game to Cabela's LOADING.... All I wanted to do was some hunting. My final thought is RETURNING.....

I got a early Christmas present the other day it was Cabelas Dangerous Hunts for Playstation 2. I put it in and I hated it. I took it out about 20 minutes later and put it away. That night I looked at it again and thought it looks so good I have to try it again. I decided to look at everything it had and came out with this. Here is my review and a honest breakdown of the game. This is from 7 hours of playing after two days.

pros

Great graphics

Good AI

Crisp Sounds

Lots of options

Many accessories

Wide selection of animals to hunt and be hunted.

great controls after learning them

Animals kill each other when fighting

Blood and bullet holes are easily seen on animals wherever hit

Cool Challenges

Cons

Bad level design

No vehicles

Faint glitches when shooting

Pressure sensative controls

No Third person view

Can't carry more than two baits or calls

Can't walk anywhere must follow a set course

Animals die to easily with any weapon

It is a fun game and has just as many pros as cons. I hated it at first and then it grew on me and I liked it alot more. I have to say for my first time but I would rent this first and see if the pros beat the cons. I do reccomend this to anyone who likes hunting or hunting games.

dont be fooled by all the trash talkers out there this is a great game with amazing grapics, mission variety, animal reactions, weapon variety, a realistic death sequence and all that other great stuff. lets face it folks there's nothing more satisfying then killing your first grizzly with a knife. tis is a great game and this is just my opinion but still i love this game and it was worth every penny
