my Castlevania:L of I review

Castlevania was good compared to Symphony of the Night. I thought that the game was awesome but there were some things that made me mad. Like the camera angles, which were annoying to see some enemies, the game was short I beat this game in 13 hours of game play, and the hair on Leon was metrosexual. The music was awesome, the game play was very good, the plot was interesting, the foes deaths were cool. If you are a true Castlevania lover like me then you will at least this game a chance.

Very Impressive.

This is a very good tribute to the rest of the Castlevania line. The game has some stunning graphics and intriging story line. You will find yourself wanting to have the bosses that talk say more. The combos are pretty simple, so you don't have to go into a button mashing frenzy just to do one lame move. I only had four things wrong with these game. One, the camera angles somtimes git in the way.Two the keys to the locked rooms, aren't in the same stage you have to go the next stage to git the key.Three the money system, I prefer the old ones were you collected hearts from everything.Lastly the rating, M is to high on the scale the blood is minimale when you have it on. Over all thought I would deffinatly recomend this game to anyone.

Great Game, Great Story, Boring Castle

My Opinion: Castlevania has always been one of my favorite series and I was looking forward to a 3D romp on PS2, and this game delivers. On to the review

Graphics: The graphics are gorgeous. The castle is very lively and interesting, but it's repetative.

Music: The music is the high point of the game. Each level has music specifically for that level and it all is hauntingly great.

Story: Good story, very Castlevania-like. I'm not gonna give away any of it, but it does explain a great deal about the whole Belmont clan rivalry with Dracula, and why the whip is the main weapon for the Belmonts.

Level Design: The one flaw in this otherwise glorious game. The castle is EXTREMELY repetative, and that's an understatment. If you can get past this you'll be in for a real treat with this game.

Overall: Great, great game, but it's REALLY repetative in the level design and that dropped my score, but other than that a great attempt to make a 3D Castlevania game. Way better than the ones on Nintendo 64

Very good storyline.

I truly did enjoy this videogame. This is my first Castlevania game, after spending almost my whole life hearing about how incredible the series was. I was not dissapointed. But the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I found the gameplay to be a bit repetative.

Lament of Innocence: Excellent Foray into 3-D

Castlevania: lament of Innocence is the "next generation" debut of the Castlevania series. It is indeed a physically beautiful game. The graphics are exceptional and the movement is clean and very detailed. The storyline is interesting, though the voice acting and script are a little bit on the long winded and unintentionally comical side (the voice acting comes off a bit stiff, to say the least). This game goes back to the beginning, introducing the origins the whole saga to the viewer. The castle is very basic; many of the rooms have a "sameness" to them, which will require you to bring up the map on a fairly regular basis, but it's relatively easy to navigate anywhere you need to go. There are a number of optional boss battles that can be found to add an element of versatility to Leon's attacks, and some of the level boss battle range everywhere from fairly easy to frustratingly difficult. Those who enjoy the side-scrolling elements of SOTN or the follow on GBA games will find only a few places where platforming makes much of an appearance. While it may not have the RPG depth that other games in the series have, it's not meant to. The M rating seems a little extreme; though there are some areas where it gets bloody, It's hardly in the range of Silent Hill or Resident Evil. If you let your kids play the other 2D Castlevania games, chances are there's nothing in here that will freak them out. For those hoping this would be a 3D version of SOTN, well, it isn't, and frankly, it wasn't meant to be. As a 3D action/adventure game in its own right, however, it stands up very well and should be considered a worthy installment in the Castlevania canon.

Great Game...just a little short of excellent!!!

I'm a great fan of monster/vampire games and this game does not dissapoint me in the least!!! It is a great game. There are only 3 things that would make this an excellent game. 1-The camera angles can be a bit tricky, and at some points in the game, downright hurtfull. 2-It's my sincere belief that 2 controls for the item screen are not necessary, right stick would be better used as a camera control or better yet, not at all. 3-The intro to the story is not bad at all, but during the game I expected more answers and non-player character development.

Who would have known...

As a backdrop to the entire history of the already world reknown Castlevannia series, this game lives up to its predecessors. Only lacking in game length and depth of the story, the game mechanics are challenging at first, but after a short adjustment time, it can be easily mastered. While lacking in length, the difficulty of the game is one of its strong points since it escalates while you advance in the game, offering the player a variety of options with regards to the approach of the same.

Overall, this game is a must for Castlevania fans everywhere in order to read about the humble beginnings of the Belmont Clan, and most of all, brush up a bit on Castlevania Vampire lore.

Lament of Innocence is a great castlevania game. The gameplay is great! There are tons of different power ups and Items to collect. The quest is interesting and keeps you going. The soundtrack is excellent and when the creepy organ music starts blasting you almost feel like you are exploring the dank halls of castlevania personally.

Castlevania 3D for the second time.

Now to start off I liked the N64 Castvania it was a fun game but some thing was not there it was Castlevania that was missing it just didnt feel like a Castlevania game and it did no favors for L.O.I. no one really liked it so no one was to happy that this one was in 3D. So it was hard to make this game I bet knowing that the last one was a flop but they did it.

The thing is this game feels like castlevania and its just fun to play. It got a lot off Devil May Cry so its not all castlevania action but then on the other hand it was castlevania inspired D.M.C. so its only fitting that they help each other out. Let me tell you about the game play the camera and fighting is like D.M.C. mixed with the clasic castlevania fighting style.
Like Castlevania: SOTN you explore the castle and do puzzles but its not as fun to exploras it is in SOTN so you will find your self just doing what you have to to get to the boss and the puzzels are easy and few. The game its self is short I am on the big boss and I have maby 8hs of game play. The story is well done and the voice acting is ok. Other than that its all good.

So if you are a fan of Castlevania and you dont mind the fact the its a lot like DMC and it short then get it! If you dont like that fact then I still think you should rent it.

This is a 3D Castlevania worthy of the title.

Sorry for any Typos

Finally, a good 3-D Castlevania

Castlevania is a game series that really needs no introduction. It has become one of the most popular vampire slaying games of all time, but there has never been a decent 3-D version. In 1999, Konami tried their shot at it on N64, but it didn't work because there was nothing fun about it. Now, four years later, Castlevania makes its 3-D debut on PS2. The question is,"is this one worth it?" The answer is YES.

"Lament of Innocence" was done by the same team who brought use "Symphony of the Night", and I trust those people. To my knowledge, they has never once come out with a bad game and I know they wouldn't start know. The graphics are beutiful, the controls are fairly easy to get use to, and it has one of the best soundtrack I've heard from a game in a while. The story goes in fresh direction this time. Instead of a new member of the Belmont Clan going after Dracula, the story takes place in the 11th century, before all the other games, and introduces the Clan's founding member, Leon Belmont. A loyal knight of the Church who gives up his title and goes after Dracula because he has kidnapped his batrothed, Sara.

You spend most of time collecting relics to improve your skills and you also learn elemental powers that give you really [great] moves. Your main weapon is a whip, of course, and you also get the classic sub-weapons which are daggers, axes, crystals, crosses, and holy water. There are five bosses you have to kill before you face Dracula and they can be defeated in any order you please. It does take a little time to get use to some of the combo moves, but once you do, ITS ON.

Overall, the only problem I have with this game is you do a lot of backtracking. But that does not bring the experience down at all. The story is good, the level and character designs look top-notch, and the gameplay is really...fun. At first when this game was annouced, some people thought of it as a Devil May Cry knockoff. That is not true. Lament of Innocence can stand out really good on its own and it will give a warm welcome to veterans of Casltevania and newcomers alike.
