From the screenshots and production team promises this one will take some beating. In multiplayer and co-op this will be top dog. Plus the storyline will only add to the impact this baby will provide. I can't wait.

A big improvement, but SOCOM 2 is better.

Conflict: Desert Storm 2 takes place in the early 90s, following the events of the first game.

Graphically, the game is much more detailed. Explosions look better, and the enviroments are not near as bland. The choppy, unrealistic animation from the first game is gone as well. The sound is what you would expect, with cheesy voices and good background music.

The computer AI is probably the biggest improvement. Troops no longer make stupid decisions, and the act more life-like. The enemies are also more realsitic. The collision detection is much improved. Bullets will no longer just pass through people. The levels are better, but could still use a little work. While SOCOM's levels are varied and take place all over the world; Conflict 2's levels are all set in the desert, and begin to look quite simialr.

There is also 4 player split screen, but sadly, no online play. The multiplayer levels are bland, so multiplayer won't keep you entertained for very long.

In the end, Conflict Desert Storm 2 is a much improved sequel, but you should buy SOCOM 2 first, even if you don't have a network adaptor.

CDS2 will rock

Have played the demo and this is a massive improvement over CDS1 in every way. Can't wait for the full game to arrive with the improved graphics, AI, physics, weapons etc, etc

Beter than SOCOM 2

Why?

Because this is the only true squad based game out there. You can control your whole team individually meaning tactics are so much better and far more satisfying when you set up a full ambush. This is not a game claiming a squad were you control one man and the rest follow like lemons this game class and this game is a must have title.

BEST TEAM GAME EVER MADE!!!!!

I haven't played Socom 1 or 2, but still I think it's probably much much better than it. Graphics are okay put the gameplay is amazing better than the first. Connors, Bradley, Foley, Jones they all are advanced and better looking in this than anything else!

It is a pretty cool game, but to easy to beat.

First thing to say is... this game rocks!its sooooo much better than the first one. This is why: the sound is the best, the graphics are great, the weapons are great, your team is better, your team looks better, the enemys are are smarter, and the tanks are harder.its pretty easy to beat, but its much, much better that the first one. The multiplayer is great too. I love this game!! Its even better than medal of honor! But still, rent it first just to be safe. Its a very good game!

Just received this, play it on the XBOX. Have played Desert Storm to death but still go back to it as its great fun and challengeing just to do it better than last time. DS2 is even better! better graphics better areas to fight in, the progressive objectives are a good idea, changeing as you go through the game, a better use of vehicles also expands the game. Still working my way through to open the tough level, looking forward to that. Only one gripe so far, on mission 2, I was waiting for my team to rally around the vehicles to finish the objective and Foley was not doing the biz, I found that he had jumped out off a snipers position and landed with both feet into baskets of corn on the ground where he could not be set free, I had to get Bradley to kill him then revive him to make him move, it just added to the game trying to figure out how to do things, How about a black hawk down version of this game or as a down load, even though the scenario is quite limited, having the other teams as seperate entities would be good.

My favorite co-op game

We have fun teaming together to survive the missions... but this one seemed m much shorter than the first Conflict game. We put those claymores and landmines to good use. When playing single player, stealth mode works best. I wish they would keep statistics on all those stealth kills though; no fun bragging about it if you can't show your friends.

Minor irritations include unnecessary screens during loading: (Are you SURE you want to save? Are you SURE you want to restart?) Well... duh... yeah already... start the game! And what's with the useless "profile" junk? Get to the game already!

If you have friends who come over and play then I recommend this game. If you are one of those shut-ins who plays over the internet in a dark room by yourself, well... get SOCOM.

We can't wait until the next one comes out... I read it's probably gonna be Vietnam.
