Lets see here I remember being a kid and seeing this game in the video store and thinking "EXCELLENT." A game based on what was one of the funniest movies I had seen in my short life, however I quickly learned how wrong I was. It was my first real experience in what is commonplace in videogame based on movies, they generally are failures.

Let's see, the story actually is the highlight of the game. You need to use the magic phone booth to stop renegade time travellers who have taken important historical figures and placed them in different time periods. So now that the highlight of the game is over I can talk about the gameplay.

Well, every single aspect of this game is frustrating and idiotic, even for Bill and Ted. You are spending a majority of time running into rocks and other objects to find pudding and keys, which you usually have no idea where to use them, and you have the amazing ability to enter an area with no way out. My favorite example that I still remember is you wind up at the bottom of a river, trees line it so you cant walk up the path and in order to continue I had to rely on a glitch that running into a tree hurt me, sending me flying up the path, into another tree, and eventually you got back up the path to the next area. Even as a young kid I was amazed at the idiocy that this game contained.

You do get to use the phone booth, but without the instruction booklet you wont be able to figure out how to easily. The store i rented from did not rent booklets and this was before the internet was up and running like today so I had no resources other than myself to rely on. I gave up after several minutes and began playing the other game I renter Mega Man 2.

Overall this game is a frustrating, boring, and almost broken game. I only gave it two stars because its Bill and Ted and the guy from the future pops up a bunch to tell you what an Excellent job your doing, only in this case he is lying. With the mass of great NES games to play, avoid this one.
