Best game to play with friends in the dark.

It's a tricky but spine chilling game. Great interaction. You may need to find a walkthrough of it, but it's worth it. The panic mode probably makes it the funnest. I don't recommend for people who get scared very easily. But I guarantee if your looking for a scary game to play that's different from the rest, this is the game.

Good game

This is one good game. The fear factor is really high and the characters ghastly... Fiona rocks!!! (well endowed she is ...) , you get the bonus to watch her jugs bounce twice as she moves and jerks around.... really cool and kinky ,,,

So, you are looking at the game box. A girl and her dog? What a combo. Make no mistake that Haunting Ground lives up to its name in several ways.

Haunting Ground starts out in the basement mansion with intriguing flashbacks, rooms, and of course, the dog! There is little unresolved, and that is where the gameplay takes over. The tutorial is very helpful, and new notes and memos are added to help the game more understandable through your menu screen. The items and controls were unique to the Playstation 2 horror lineup. Taking the high road of being on the defensive (mostly) in the whole game is refreshing. The graphics are decent, and the FMVs roll enough to keep the game going. Musically, I wouldn't consider it an "E3" winner but it keeps you on your toes. The game length is appropiate. It doesn't drag on, and I was surprised at the number of times that I thought the game would end and it does not. This isn't necessarily a bad thing!

I think what keeps me from giving Haunting Ground higher than a "4" is the vagueness. I am one of those people who keep up a game guide online in case I need help. I repeatedly had to look at it, which isn't necessarily fun. Mixing the medallions and deciding what to create on the typewriter was rather awkward. Fortunately, I never relied on mixing medallions (optional to do if you are low on items) once in the game! Also, Haunting Ground felt more like a PC game ported to the PS2. This game reminds me of "D", but without the dog. The wide variety of rooms and intricate puzzles in HG made me think of my Mac. I am not too picky on the storyline, but it has a few holes. The character development was great, but a lot of people have problems with the suggestive content in this game... You'll understand when you play it :). If you want to try it, I think Haunting Ground is scary enough to fit into your game collection!

I really enjoy this game. I love having Hewie around he really helps alot. The game has good music and a great storyline, But the best thing is panic mode I like panic mode even if it does almost always get you killed. It gives the game a life-like sense Fiona will stumble and fall and it makes you really want to help get her up and moving. The enemies are creepy and psychotic (especially the maid) but not that scary, Im not that creeped out by them as in compairison to the zombies in Resident evil where the enimies and gameplay made it really scary and I would not reallly want to go on playing. I guess thats a good thing though because I can play all the way through this game. All in all if you like survival horror games then you HAVE to give this a try.

Awesome Game!!! Not for younger players!

I bought haunting gronud because I wanted a little spin off of Silent Hill. This game is much like Silent Hill with the same creepy feel.
Because of the very mature themes expressed in the game I would not recommend this game for younger players. Suggestive themes, and violence. Also the characters that chase Fiona are pretty scary too.
For the more mature gamer this is a very fun game to play and allows you almost complete control over the plot of the game. Depending on the relationship you make with the dog companion, Hewie and the choices weather to show mercy to some of the characters makes this a fun game to play over again and explore the diffrent options you have.
Also after completing the game the first time through you are rewarded with the "Secret Room". I wish all video games were as rewarding when it came to completion! "Secret Room" gives you little extras about the game, mini games and a chance to look over the cut scenes you had seen while playing the game.
This is a very fun game to play and is fun to play with a partner (which I myself had done) with you.

Serious Horror

Just imagine a Resident Evil or a horror game without the main character, the guy with the guns and knives, well now you can see what is this game all about.

There are horrifying moments, horrifying enemies and you're just a girl without a gun, a knive, just by herself.

It has a lot to do, a lot to investigate, the moments of tension are breath taking and you feel like there is no escape.

The sound and graphics are spectacular and there are times where you get all stressed out running away from the enemies.

I'm playing this game with my wife (it's her game actually) and i can tell you it's good, very good.

This game has nothing to do with TRAPT, this game is good for real, don't put this game in the same bag as TRAPT 'cause it has nothing to do with it.

WONDERFULL

This game rocks! It is scary at times and the dog is a great idea! The games storie line now thats where it gets realy good it has a loy of twists and turns that will keep you gussing to the very end! I cant say much for the fighting of Fiona Belli she can only kick and very weakly at that but thats what makes it scary I think. You have to rely on the dog you save Hewie to do most of the fighting and then you run away and hide when Hewie gets the bad guy down but make sure you keep Hewie healthy or your in truble! After you play through the game once you will unloock specal features such as new costumes, for Finoa and Hewie, and lots more but what you unlock depends on how well you plaied the game so good luck and have fun you wont be disapointed!

This game is really good, but my boyfriend didn't think this game was good he thought the graphics were poorly. Anyways, I loved this game, Fiona who is a girl who gets trapped inside this castle called Belli Castle.
Then she meets up with a dog named Hewie and the try to escape the castle together.

I've played this game so many times, I never get tired of it playing. I love surival horror games, this game is really fun.

This is why you rent games first

Man, am I ever missing something here! I came to review this game, and save you some money, and I was shocked this had anything over 1 star. Haunting Ground SUCKS, plain and simple. The woman you control (if she has a name, I never caught it) is horribly slow, even for a frightened girl. And for some reason, she has a British accent. (Dear Capcom, when releasing a game in the U.S., make sure the characters have American accents. Leave the British accent for the PAL version, please) You have one action, a weak kick that does next to nothing, except open doors a little faster. There is a dog on the cover that I guess is supposed to help you, but I never found him in the game. Maybe I would've played it longer if every door in the castle wasn't locked, with no keys, or anything else for that matter, to be found. Basically all you do is wander around aimlessly. Nothing unique, no reason to play, its that simple.
