And the Difference Is?

I see no difference between 2002 and 2003.

The best baseball game of 2002

Okay, I'll admit it: this looks an awful lot like a really good PS One game. But great graphics don't make a great game; check out All-Star Baseball 2003 if you don't believe me. (Better yet, DON'T. I should have known better than to play a game sponsored by a Yankee!) The bottom line is, games should be FUN, and High Heat delivers it in spades.

Great Game. Beats All Star and Triple Play

I am the master rater. I've played Triple Play, allstar baseball and High heat. high heat was by far the best. I love it. Don,t let yourself down by buying Triple play or allstar, they stink. Please buy high heat. the graphics are okay but the gameplay is awsome. I bought the game 2 days ago and couldn't get off my luxurios PS2. Ive been playing for 52 hours straight. The only reason i got off was to write this review, and after this i'll go back to playing. if you don't believe me , fine don't, your just letting yourself down. Do yourself a favor and buy the game. Damn those Triple play and all star they [are bad] , Please Buy High heat.

Graphics ruin the game

I was about to buy this game until I actually played it at the store. The graphics were worse in this then in MLB 99 for the PS1. The gameplay was however pretty good and realistic. But insted of wasting 50 bucks on this buy Triple Play 2002 its a 100 times better.

Pretty Good

The best American baseball game I've played. I haven't played the other baseball titles for PS2, but it sounds like TP hasn't changed much, AS2003 sounds not bad. I have to say to the game makers again, check out some of the Japanese baseball games like World Stadium or even RBI baseball from the old school. Anyways:

Pros:

Pretty good gameplay.

Defence and baserunning are easy to control.

Graphics also good.

The tuning options are great, so anyone can completely customize their game. For example, if Ichiro is getting thrown out on too many grounders you can either make throwing speed lower or runner speed higher.

Staduims look good.

Cons:

When batting, the ball is a little difficult to pick up. Mayby they should use a ball cursor like TP baseball.

If there is a blooper over the infield and the shortstop dives for it and misses, the outfielder is also moving in that direction and sometimes misses the ball. This is a bad problem which should've been fixed during the PSX games.

No franchise mode.

If you're playing against the computer, sometimes the pitches get too predictable. For example, if I'm throwing a lot of balls, it's too hard to throw strikes. This fewature is a good idea, but after getting behind in the count 2-0, throwing a strike thats not grooved is quite hard.

After an out and the infielders throw the ball around the horn, their throwing motion looks really weird like they're sissys or something.

Dont buy Triple Play! Its slick but silly. High Heat plays like real baseball. Plus it plays faster, with easier controls.

This game improves on hh2002 by adding features like homerun derby. By simply adding these features and taking nothing away from the actual game play which hh2002 superior to other Playstation 2 baseball games, hh2003 is sure to beat the competition in pure fun.

Best of All

3D0 has done an amazing job with this game. It's definitely the best baseball game available without a doubt. I was amazed to see the new rosters for all the teams. The batting lineups and field positions were even exactly like you will probably see come opening day. I love EA sports games but, when it comes to baseball games High Heat Baseball by 3D0 can't be beat.

High Heat Scorches Other Baseball Games

High Heat Baseball has always been an easy to understand game with perfect rosters, gameplay, and graphics. You always have fun playing or watching a computerized game. You'll play for hours and hours and never stop. Many great features of the game is when the oponent hits a homer, the home team will throw the ball back! There are also real ejections, face expressions, and not that it matters, but a realistic looking crowd. It is definitely the best game out there easily beating out Triple Play, All Star Baseball, and the new series, Home Run King ( With Jeff Bagwell on the cover). That's why High Heat Baseball games (especially High Heat 2003) always cream others!
