Stop what you are doing and buy Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb RIGHT NOW! It is a must buy, maybe even a keeper (we'll have to wait and see how it finishes up). The graphics are an A, the music is an A, the punches and revolver action is an A+, the story so far is good, just like a movie script, but I will wait on giving it a rating, the voice acting for Prof. Jones is an A+ (at first I thought it was really Harrison Ford, but it's not, that's how good it is!), great interaction with the environments (you can smash a chair or table and use it to fight bad guys (so even if you are low on bullets, you can find weapons to use in each room), and the missions are just the right amount of hard (I have it on normal) with good use of save points. I held off on getting Tomb Raider and reserved Indiana Jones instead and it was well worth the wait. So far, I have to put this in my top 10 games of all time and I've only just started it.

Sweet

If you have any hesitation as to how good or bad this game is, I will simply say that this game is the best Indiana Jones game ever. All of the classics are here: the whip, adventure hat, and all the creepy-looking baddies you could want. After you play it, you will be wishing the new movie would come out right now.

You have chosen.... wisely.

I know what you're thinking: "Tomb Raider or Indiana Jones?" I tested both, and can easily and confidently assure to you that THIS is the one to buy: Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb.
Why? Because this is Indy's WORLD. Jungles? Tombs? Gruffy bad guys? WHY on earth is LARA CROFT in this world? This is the type of game that hands down the only one worthy of such adventures is Indiana Jones.
Indy tops the new Tomb Raider game. Gameplay: Much better. In Tomb Raider you slowly meek your way along a wall, an alley, a tiny room in an APARTMENT?? Call it "Apartment Raider" if that's what you're gonna be doing. In Indy, you're in the Jungle, jumping around, kicking bad-guy but, climbing vines, using your whip, exploring TOMBS, etc. In Indy, run up to a bad guy and duke it out Indy-style. Very cool. No stupid weapons here, just trusty sidearms, a machette, and of course the WHIP.
Music: Uses the Indy theme! Music amps up when you encounter bad guys. Cool.
Levels aren't too big in Indy's game, but I like that - quickly make headway in the game instead of moping around Lara's world.
Choose wisely. Choose Indy.

Get it. Immediately

This is a great game. If you like Indiana Jones as much as I do, (not possible, but you can try), or just like a game with a really good story and deeply immersing plot, this is your game. Gameplay is excellent, with the controls easy to master, and challenges that are tough but not impossible. This game does live up to the Indiana Jones name. Voice-acting is pretty good. If you have ears like mine for the tones of people's voices, you'll know it isn't Harrison Ford's voice, but a near-perfect wannabe. Character rendering is nice, and the graphics are very good. This is a platform game as well as action, so be prepared to jump, run, and dodge traps with your quick reflexes. And action and fighting is good too. Punch, kick, beat mercilessly, and shoot your way through hoards of ... criminals using fists, tools, and even things you break, like table legs. Use a variety of weapons (MP40, Revolver, Luger, and even your trusty whip to lay the Indy Smackdown and beat the game. This is one I highly reccomend.

I have been waiting for a game like this for twenty years!

When I was a little boy I wanted to be an adventurer like shown on the Indiana Jones movies, finialy they have made the next best thing. I like the fist fights, and the wip, those are things Laura Croft doesn't offer. I prefur the adventerous looking man to the sexy woman (in a danjorus journey). I think that the fact that the Indiana Jones movie trilogy; being so successfil decades before Larua Croft raided her first tomb cemented Indiana Jones's place as the premire adventurer/archelogist. It also helps that this game could be Indy's fourth major adventure.

GREAT GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This game is just Amazing!! The Indiana Jones character you play moves, fights and behaves just like in the movies. The game captures all the best elements that made the movies so great and lets you play them out in an original adventure made for the game. The graphics and sound are great and the controls are easy to learn so it lets you get into the story and not worry about which button to push to get something done. If you are a big fan of the movies I would recommend buying this game. If you just want to play an amazing adventure I would rent it since there is no replay value to the game (there is only a story mode with no other features). The game has a detailed story and would take 15-20 hours to play it out.

For those of you who went onto the Indiana Jones and the Emperors Tomb website at Lucasarts, you probably know how good this game looked. The awsome concept art, the fantastic screenshots, all looked like the greatest Indy game of all time was finially within our grasp. Did it deliver? I am pleased to say that for the most part, the answer is Yes.

For Indys latest foray into the video game world, Lucasarts went back in time to a pre-Temple of Doom era, where everybodys favorite archiologist is on the hunt for the "Heart of the Dragon" a mythical rock that can control the will of men. So of course, the nazis are on its trail as well, along with an evil chinese thug group named the Black Dragon. Can Indy find the rock before its too late?

The main focous for the game is its awsome fighting engine. When facing an evil thug, you have the option of punching them, grabbing them and punching them, and slaming them with an overhead slam. The fighiting is very diverse and flexable, which means that if you can smash buttons, you can fight almost any foe that comes your way. Also, you can get guns to fight, such as indys pistol, a shotgun, a submachine gun, and even a crossbow. Unfortunitly, guns are not very good at taking down bad guys. I once emptied an entire 30 shot sub-machine gun clip on a nazi, and he was still standing. Another time, 3 point blank range shotgun blasts wouldent even make a guy flinch. Very unrealistic. You can also grab objects from the enviornment to fight with, such as chairs, table legs, foot-stools, and bamboo spears. One nice touch that I liked was that Indys hat can be knocked off during a fight (Dont worry, you can get it back) A few times, when I was unable to get the hat back, I felt so guilty, I jumped off a cliff and started the level over.

The graphics for the playstation 2 version of the game are very good overall, but slightly less powerfull then the Xbox version, but thats Ok in my book. Several people have said that when more then 3 enimies show up on screen, there is massive slowdown. Yes, there is some slowdown, but maybe only 5% overall, so it does not affect my game. On Indys journeys, you will travel to the islands of ceylon, the massive castle of prauge, the underwater temples of Istanbul, huge chinese mountians, a chinese castle, and a mythicall...well, I wont spoil it. Some of these levels are an absoloute sight to behold, but I'll leave that up to you to find.

Sadly, the game does have some problems. Yes, the ever hated "No save" option is here, but since most of the levels are very short (But there are a lot of them) it shouldent be too hard. Unlike the previous game, The Infernal machine, there are no vehicle sequences, such as driving a jeep. We do get a few rail based shooting levels, involving a gondola and a cart in the streets of hong kong. There are few puzzles to be found, but most of them are quite a brain teaser. There are a few hair-tearing frustration scenes that can impede your progress because you dont know what to do next. For example, at the end of a mosqe level, Indy says that a giant head is his ticket out of here. There also happens to be a huge hole in the ground, so the natural response is to take the head and stick it in the ground. After half an hour, and about 7 restarts, I learned that you have to bring the head up as far as possible, and to the right. The boss battles are very hit and miss. Some of them are quite cool, such as Indys battle with a demon and the final level, but most of the battles are just silly and wierd, such as a battle with a frankinetien monster, and a fight with two evil twins are just plain silly and unnesicary. Likewise, a battle with a giant squid sounds cool, but due to those stupid jellyfish, it is meerly average. The plot also is meerly average and never takes off. Von beck is a lame and non-threatining villan, and it is never explained how the mirror of dreams got to all those mysterious locations. The ending is also kind of lame. Why no sunset?

Despite these flaws, Indiana Jones and the Emperors Tomb is probably Indys greatest videogame adventure, right next to "Fate of Atlantis" (Be sure to get that one, its excellent). Overall, if you love Indy, you will probably love this game. Highly recommended.

The good:
Good graphics
superb fighting engine
massive levels
the voice is pretty much dead on
some very cool moments and levels
some neat boss battles

The not so good:
The "No save anywhere" feature
some moments of hair tearing frustration
guns are not very well balanced
not much re-play value

mediocre plot, weak ending

TOP 10 GAME!

One of my all time favorite games. Cool action, great story, excellent graphics, incredible music and sound work. The only bad part is the one driving/shooting scene, which is a throw away level, don't even sweat it. Everything else was just perfect for a fun action game. A must buy!
