Disappointing game

2 Rating: 2, Useful: 1 / 10

I heard so many good things about this game so i went and paid 60 of my hard earned dollars on this game. I personally think the game is awful. I myself am a pretty good singer but this game got boring after 10 minutes. I am looking to trade it in already because i cannot see myself ever playing it again. I hate being disappointed.

Great fun for VOCALISTS - Not so much fun for casual party gamers

Both I and my wife love the DDR style games and we thought this would be a fun blast for parties etc. My wife is a trained vocalist so I knew she would rock on gameplay, but heck, even I used to sing in a variety of garage bands. These games rely STRICTLY on pitch variations...which really stinks for people like me who can't seem to hit some of the high notes (or sustain them). It was very disappointing to not be able to pass a song by "singing" the correct words with the correct timing....most songs you can simply "hum"out loud and pass the stages.
I was looking for a simple fun party game, not vocal training. while my wife still loves them I can't recommend them for everyone. Unless you have a high pitched/tone vocal style or have a musical background you will probably be disappointed.

Better than a voice coach

For those of us with average singing ability who desire to improve their skills, this game is an economical and fun alternative to taking voice lessons. I never realized how hard it is to sing an entire song, let alone many songs in a row. The first thing that improved was my breathing, and I can now sing for a longer time without gasping for air or straining my vocal chords. My singing has gone from average to respectable, and it's all from playing this game. I admit, I don't like to play this game with others as much as I like playing it alone, as it gives me more time to practice my singing. At first I only sang the songs I was familiar with, and stuck to artists whose vocal ranges more closely matched my own. As I got better, I found I was able to sing songs I could never sing before. I'm currently working on being able to sing like Aretha. I have gotten confident enough to start learning the songs I didn't know before, and I have a better appreciation for both music and singing.

As a game, KR has been a hit with everyone I have coaxed into playing. Players can have different judging levels to compensate for their level of ability. The easy level is good at first, but the key is to move up to more difficult judging levels so you can really work on improving your singing. Though the graphics are wonderful, after a while you dont even have to watch the screen anymore if you learn to pay attention to the music. This game has taught me a lot about singing, and I am grateful to Konami for putting out such an incredible game.

Lots of Fun!

When I first saw this game I got so exited!I play it and it was
great. You get to pick your clothes, nickname, and band. Then you can
go take center stage to sing. Then, while your sing to your favorite tunes,Karaoke Revolution judges you. There's more than 35
songs to choose from. Here's a tip about choosing songs.1 Pick the
song that's right for you.2.Choose one with less words if your
just starting.3.Choose a song with more words if you already
know how to sing. For girls,I suggest you pick girly girl clothes.Because nobody wants to see a girl wearing boy clothes
and a boy wearing girl clothes!Boys should wear something that is
good. You'll even get to curl your hair. Not by yourself. You get this girl, her name is Ashley. And she does your hair! But,she'll
charge you 10 times the cost. You can out flowers in you hair for
the girls. This game is fun. While your singing, people are up on
stage dancing. You can pick which micro phone you want. Some of
the colors are pink,blue,purple,yellow,orange,black,and brown.
Pick a microphone that matches with your outfit and shoes. You
can get more outfits if you win plenty of levels. There are 100
levelsin Karaoke Mode.

Karoake Revolution is surprisingly fun

I've 'performed' karaoke and number of times but my wife has never considered singing on stage a suitable option. So I was hesitant when we opened up the game (it was a gift) but after singing a few songs we realized we were having a good time.

There's a good choice of music and only a few that we didn't know. The cartoony characters are fun to watch as a performer or audience. And the performance meters seem to be more accurate than I liked!

It would be nice to have a duet mode. And hopefully the expansion disks aren't too expensive. I'm pretty sure we'll get one.

This isn't like a game of Madden that can be played, realistically, eight hours a day (if given the choice...) but when played on occasion, Karaoke Revolution is a fun time.

Fabulous!

I love this game! I get it out and sing until my voice cracks...it's fun alone, or with friends. The only things I would improve is adding a duet mode, and some way to record yourself. I can't wait for the rumored expansion disks...!

Lots of Fun!

Karaoke Revolution is a great game. I finally got it the other day after holding out for awhile, but it's finally one of those games that you can play with people that aren't really into the mashing of buttons or aren't too great with the whole eye-hand coordination. My girlfriend and I have played it a lot. It helps to REALLY know the songs in order to do well. I really hope expansion discs come soon, but I feel there's a good amount of songs on the first disc. If you're one of those people who sing along to the radio, you will love this game.

Pack's of fun,that never end!

If you like singing get this because it'll be lots of fun. One of the makers of the game is Harmonix, the people that made amplitude. If you're wondering about how to pass a level or what modes are there then here are some answers. One of the Modes is soming called Showtime(or something like it) this is where your acting out like a Singer that try's to get to the BIG TIME, The other modes, well... I forgot. But I can tell you that your not really singing, you just try to sing along with the song and you just have to match the pitch of the song.

Lots of fun

Overall, a fun game, but....having owned Karaoke rev. #3 first, I was disappointed that they repeated a song (You're the One That I Want". For 30-40 dollars a pop, this company should definitely not have to repeat any songs from game to game. Parents should be aware that there are the occasional song choices that are not appropriate for young singers. I'm no prude, but I don't want my 7 yr old singing "Like a Virgin". Having said that, my daughter and I have a blast singing together and it is a great tool to help her learn to sing.
