comic masterpiece

This is a pretty exciting game. You have to walk around completing levels as the superhero you pick. Some of the graphics are extremely wonderful, while others are just so-so. Because each superhero has certain moves that are distinct for them, you will always want to come back and play the game as someone else. The game is sort of like an RPG, the way you have storyline segments all over the place. But the action is really nice and wonderful, overall.

There's one battle in particular where a boss named Fin Fang Foom keeps appearing on a platform, and you have to attack him. This is a pretty fun fight, here. I bet more exciting fights are just like this one. A must-buy.

Great all around game

This is a very good game for a few reasons. There are a wide variety of characters to choose from and their powers are all very different and reflective of their comic book counterparts. The story line is original and evolves with enough twists and turns to make a great movie. Once you finish this game you want to play again as another set of heroes. I recommend this game to anyone who enjoys video games as much as to someone who wants to see an interesting plot and work through this story that spans from Earth to Valhalla to deep space.

If your a Marvel lover your going to love this game. I personaly liked it alot. The Good Side: This game has tons of characters from Spider-Man and Captain America to Ghost Rider and The Fantasic Four! And the same goes for the bad guys like Dr.Doom and Galactus! There are tons of costumes to chose from like classic outfits to new ones. Also the gaphics are great, I could see the scratches on Doom's mask! Now The Bad Side: The game's short, I beat it in two days. And it's also repetitive, once I was done with one level and I moved on to the next it felt like I was playing the same level. So that's my review I hoped you liked it. My final verdict: If you like the Marvel Universe (and who dosen't?) then buy the game if you not that into it then rent it, it'll save you the money.

Fun game that can be even better.

Graphics - 8/10
Gameplay - 8.5/10
Sound - 8/10

The game has about 30 heroes to play with which is a pretty good number except that a couple of the heroes seem rushed and not as cool as the others (for ex: Iceman, Luke Cage). The story is right out of the golden age of comics which is pretty cool although I would LOVE a game following the new storylines like House of M or Civil War. I think those would sell immensely whether in the movies or on consoles. There aren't enough popular villains, most of the ones in this game are second rate and not even followed much in current storylines. I'd like to see more spiderman villains and guys like sabretooth, Galactus, Annihulus, Ravenous, Thanos, etc. I also hope that in the next game villains will be playable characters. Overall, if you like hack n slash rpgs and Marvel comics then this is your next game.

By Far the Greatest Comic Book Based Video Game Ever

Marvel Ultimate Alliance lives up to its name. No superhero game can compare. Not Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. Not Spider-Man 2. Not even it's X-Men Legends predasesors.

MUA has an awesome gameplay system. The controls are easy to get into, and offer a lot of variety. The game alslo features a top-notch storyline that takes you from undersea Atlantis to the alien Skrull homeword to a killer (literally) theme park called MurderWorld. There are 17 or so different locations throughout the game, each featuring unique and impressive visuals. Did I mention that MUA's cell shaded graphics are perfect for a Marvel game?

The cast of playable characters is awesome. All characters have unique and powerful moves, as well as four cool costumes. You start out with sixteen heroes: Spider-Man, Wolverine, Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Thing, Invisible Woman, Mister Fantastic, Human Torch, Spider-Woman, Luke Cage, Elektra, Storm, Iceman, and Deadpool. Throughout the game you can unlock seven other heroes: Doctor Strange, Blade, Ghost Rider, Silver Surfer, Daredevil, Black Panther, and Nick Fury. My team was Deadpool, Invisible Woman, Luke Cage, and Spider-Woman. I highly recommend all of them.

MUA is a unique, arcade-level fun RPG action romp that is great for comic geeks and casual gamers alike.

Marvel Hack N Slash

I love Dark Alliance & Champions so I was looking forward to Justice League Heros. But when I got to the store & this was out, I bought it without even having read a review. DC is cool but I'm a Marvel comics guy.
The variety of playable characters is fantastic. Its actually too many to choose from but that will make it more appealling to more marvel fans then those who prefer Spidy, X-Men, & Fan4.
The story is cool but its a hack n slash so thats not important.
The graphics are great but the comic colors are bright & there is so much action, it takes a little getting used to, as with most any game.
The battle system works well. The main problem is having a character with too many powers & not enough buttons to assign them to. You can toggle between powers during a fight pretty easily, though.
There isn't the vast amount of booty to collect as in other hack n slash.
Heros you aren't using through out the game stay level with your main characters so swapping or adding won't hurt your team.
Replay value should be high, depending if you want to spend more time playing different heros.
There is a wealth of backstory & connections for comic fans.
THE NEGATIVE:
There are a few stages where you can't control the camera. They are short levels but so different from the last five levels you played that is feels like a different game. Not a big deal but I had to mention it.

All I can say is WOW.

When I first heard about this game coming out, I was almost in awe. over 140 characters from the Marvel Universe coming together. It sounded like something that could only happen in the comic books. Then the game came out and after buying it, I was hooked.

One thing I've always enjoyed about MARVEL are the characters. In the game, not only do you get to play well known heroes like Spiderman and Wolverine, who have all been featured in games in the past, but then there are heroes like Dr. Strange, the Black Panther, Thor, and Luke Cage who have never even appeared in a platform video game before. Another thing I'v always liked about MARVEL, are the interactions between heroes and villians they normally wouldn't face. Here it's pretty much every hero taking on all sorts of villians they nomrally wouldn't fight...except for Doctor Doom...everyone has fought him.

The game play is excellent, but probably my favorite feature is creating your dream team of heroes. I've only begun to stratch the surface of Ultimate Alliance, but I'll say that I will definetly be playing it for a good while.

Very fun! You won't get bored!

With so many superheroes to choose from, this game is so much fun. I have finished the game but keep starting the game from beginning with different characters. The graphic is not that great but it's still fun. The game is not really that easy, but you don't need a cheat code to beat the game. It's worth buying. Trust me!

As you can tell this is one ultimate game!!!

Wow! That's the best way I can describe this game. Just "wow"! Where do I start? The character roster is heavenly and will satisfy all the fans. The system utilizes the same perfect RPG style system seen in the "X-Men Legends" series. The story is great. The "Comic Missions" are great and serve as a quick way to evolve your characters quickly. I haven't even finished the game and I'm already singing it's praises. This is one of those rare occassions when the game is worth more than it's list price. Excellent! Stupendous! Home Run! All That! Buy it now!!
