Ratatouille

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 5 / 5

Ratatouille is a REALY good movie, and I was expecting the game to stick with the original plot(with only a few changes, as with most movie-based video games). I was disappointed to find that the game follows an almost entirely different storyline! Most things that are actually from the movie are in the wrong places, and Remy doesn't even help linguni!( well, I'm only at the level where you first explore the kitchen. It's the one where you collect detergent bottles. Maybe he does help him later on, but I don't know yet.) Now, about mini-games. For most of the games,(I still have more stuff to check out,)you have to buy permission to buy the levels! It's kind of like get a permit....to play a mini-game. I don't know about you, but I think that's pretty stupid. Not only that, you have to reach a certain % of how much you finished of the game to even buy levels! I think I'll just forget about buying any more mini-games. Anyways, the game is a lot of fun, even if the mini-games stink. Playing as Remy is cool, but I would like to play a Emile too. It says on one of their boxes,(it's not for playstation 2, but like most movie-based games, It's the same game for every counsole,) "Relive the movie's best action scenes through the eyes of Remy and Emile." Yea, right. First of all, this game is almost nothing like the real movie, and second of all, when do I get to play as Emile!?! Anyways, this game is mostly about the rats stealing food. If you like fun games that are challenging at times, (this game isn't always challenging, sometimes it can be pretty easy,) than I think you'll like Ratatouille. If you want something that's just like the movie...that's too bad, because they totally changed the plot. I give this video game 4 stars out of five because it keeps you entertained.

A fun game - but download a walkthru!

UPDATE: Found a walk-thru on the internet that "walks" you thru all the levels. We finally finished the game, but there are still a handfull of trinkets we just couldn't find. Overall, my son loves the game now. If your child likes the movie, this game is good fun.

>OK, I do know why, my 5yo son. It's cute, but the menus are tricky and the cheat codes I found, all but 2 don't work. But my immediate concern is: We have been stuck in the attic (near the beginning of stage 1) looking for the final 2 apples for almost 2 days now. frustrating? just a bit. i've been a casual gamer since the days of Atari - and i am clueless! this is a kids game? we know to use smell vision - so we know where the last 2 apples are - in the crates... but how in the hell do you get inside?!?!?!? PLEASE HELP!!!! The game is going into semi-retirement because the frustration level is too great - for my son and me!

Great!!

My daughter loves this game and so do I. It's very easy to play once you get the hang of things, it gives great instructions. We have already beat the game and we are just going back to see what we have missed to get 100%.
The only con is that we can't seem to figure out how to purchase the mini games or the codes. The only thing we have purchase are the things it allows us to w/o a code. We would like to play 2-player just don't know how to w/o the codes...other than that very cute.

Play it everyday!!!!A++++++++

This is a very fun game! Since Christmas, my husband and dauhghter play it everyday after homework is done! My husband likes "Challenging" games and he loves this, and my daughter can play it also. She is nine. While I am cooking dinner, I can hear them laughing in the other room, and they said Remmy, the rat, does some goofy things, and it's SOOOOOOOOO funny.
The missions you are sent on, are not always very easy, but you also don't get SO frustrated that you put it away, either. It seems to be pretty addicting to play because their are so many levels to this game! I had some friends tell me that they bought it for their kids to play, and after the kids go to bed, they play it! See... I guess we aren't the only ones! hope this helps! Thank you!

fun for the kids

This has been a fun game to play. One problem we have had is not being able to get all of the stars in a level. It would also be nice if you could manually save.

Good Game Overall!

I am an adult and love character games like this where you can play as your favorite character from cartoons or tv...this game is fun overall but I am sooo stuck on the part where you are in the attic and you need to use your sniffer-vision or whatever to find the 4 apples....anyone know how to do this?? or anyone know where a walk-thru is to find out how to do it??
